This silent refusal by many Muslims to condemn attacks that are openly inspired by Islam does not come from aggression, but from a fear of challenging religious authority or needfully holding our own community accountable. In a post-Trump era, Muslims are not worried about what Jews, Americans or a new administration will do. Many of us fear first and foremost our own community for the ostracism and harassment we risk if we rise as a dissenting voice. Extremist ideology will only change once we remove the imams and the mosque leadership who are complicit and who have unfettered access to a powerful platform. These are not people of faith; they are not spiritual leaders. They are dangerous propagandists and they need to be removed. From Lebanon to Norway -- now most recently in California -- pulpits at mosques are ripe with raw Jew-hate. This hate is not denounced by the immediate community. When news broke recently that Imam Ammar Shahin of the Islamic Center in Davis, California, delivered a one- hour war-drum sermon against Jews concerning the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem, the imam and the members of mosque stood shamelessly behind his bidding to "Liberate the Al Aqsa mosque from the filth of the Jews. Annihilate them down to the very last one." That is a call for genocide. On the same day, in front of a congregation of Friday worshippers, another imam, Mahmoud Harmoush, in Riverside, California, also gave a Jew-hating sermon. Harmoush openly said: "Oh, Allah, liberate the Al Aqsa Mosque and all the Muslim lands from the unjust tyrants and the occupiers... Oh, Allah, destroy them, they are no match for you. Oh, Allah, disperse them and rend them asunder. Turn them into booty in the hands of the Muslims." Derrick Irions) The Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem made headlines recently, when Israeli forces placed necessary metal detectors -- the same as protect many other mosques -- at the entrances to the religious site of Jerusalem's Temple Mount, after a deadly terrorist attack in which three Israeli Arabs shot and killed two Druze Israeli policemen days earlier. Palestinians then launched a protest against the security measures, which had been installed to protect Muslim worshippers as well as to protect the mosque from being destroyed by weapons that were being brought into it. Palestinian protestors claimed that the metal detectors were a violation of their religious freedom, even though no one had forbidden Muslims to go to the Temple Mount other than the Palestinian Authority itself. For Muslims in other parts of the world, inflammatory outrage against Israel -- often based on spurious charges -- has always been given immediate priority, while serious human rights violations by Muslim nations, dictators, and mobs are shrugged off as problems "over there." In the U.S., the reactionary sermons in "liberal" California received negative media coverage. Congressmen John Garamendi and Brad Sherman openly admonished the sermons, and there was welcome pushback from the Muslim community. A week after the sermons were delivered and largely defended by the immediate Muslim community despite public denunciation, Imam Ammar Shahin, after public pressure, offered a public apology; Imam Mahmoud Harmoush also apologized. The war-mongering rhetoric of the imams were not slips of the tongue or off-hand comments. Their rhetoric is the same packaged radical ideology churned out in madrassas, terror camps, and online extremist publications. These are calculated and crafted messages that appear to convey the assumption that their religious "authority" will not be challenged. Their words were not indicative of American Islam or what it means to be a Muslim American who embraces tolerance and religious liberty for all, often putting a religious identity second to a collective national identity. What is even more telling is that in the instance of Imam Shahin of Davis, not only did the mosque's board and larger community stand behind him and his sermon; they also chose to attack the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), which did the hard work of uncovering these stories. Rather than those who attended the mosque voicing their concern in public, it was MEMRI that did the footwork Muslim communities should be doing internally -- which includes acting as watchdogs against hate speech. What the American Muslim community should be doing, (instead of, by their silence, implicitly backing the calls for genocide) is helping to launch the flagship Reform Project, devoted to amplifying voices of liberal Muslims. As a southern California native, and an American Muslim who is part of a larger network of progressive Muslims advocating for desperately-needed self-examination, I would like to say that these apologies are simply not good enough. Within days of the sermons, we launched a petitionagainst Imam Ammar Shahin, calling for his immediate termination on the basis of an inexcusable interpretation of the faith; gross abuse of power; manipulating innocent worshippers; disregarding the unacceptable cruelty that this might be inflicting on others (in this instance, Jews); and for further alienating and endangering American Muslims who will suffer backlash and suspicion for the sermon. Voicing concern about backlash, or fear of backlash, is detrimental to American Muslims. It handicaps our ability to speak freely and publicly denounce calls for war against an entire population. Instead of voicing a deeply passionate resistance to using a mosque pulpit, or any pulpit, for advocating genocide -- a sentiment privately disclosed in multiple conversations with California-based American Muslims -- the public response is silence. This silent refusal by many Muslims to condemn attacks that are openly inspired by Islam does not come from aggression, but from a fear of challenging religious authority or needfully holding our own community accountable. In a post-Trump era, Muslims are not worried about what Jews, Americans or a new administration will do. Many of us fear first and foremost our own community for the ostracism and harassment we risk if we rise as a dissenting voice. For this reason, it is critical to underscore that these imams not only antagonize fragile relationships and stir chaos in an already tense time; they do much more than that. Their actions alarm the local Jewish community, who must live with the fact that one block from their homes is someone who wants their family dead. These imams deliberately harm the ability of their own Muslim communities to evolve and embrace pluralism. The petition was supported by outstanding American Muslims and their organizations -- those that value tolerance, respect for the religious values of others, and pluralism. Organizations that signed the petition include the Muslim Reform Movement, Muslims for Progressive Values, as well a handful of other strong southern California Muslim American activists, such as Anila Ali and Soraya Deen. Within days, the petition received literally thousands of signatures. All it demanded was that those imams be fired. The truth is that the entire mosque board that defended and allowed these imams to speak at length, without interruption, should step down. Members of the interfaith community (best described by the Islamic scholar Tarek Fatah as an "interfaith harem") also need to take a hard look at their own complicity. Partnering with Jew-haters is of no service to anyone -- not Jews, not Christians, and not the Muslim community. There is also the larger issue of the ineffectiveness of many interfaith groups and their tendency to be used as props during public-relations disasters such as this one. Apologies do not change an ideology. The imams' apologies will not dissolve their open bias against Jews or anyone else. Extremist ideology will only change once we remove the imamsand the mosque leadership who are complicit and who have unfettered access to a powerful platform. Muslim Leaders Want To Turn US Into A Muslim Country

Many people with a desire  not appear Islamophobic will do anything to avoid the facts. They will ignore  any information, any testimony or any individual who produces contrary data.  It is the old 'head buried deeply in the sand'  syndrome.   We are not in that camp.

We DO NOT HATE ANYONE and we do don't hate Muslims but that does not mean we have to ignore what we see, what Europe is experiencing and what everyday Muslims have to live with.

In most European countries, imams are not required to report these marriages to the authorities. Daham Al Hasan fled from Syria to Denmark, leaving behind his three wives and 20 children. Under the Danish rules of family unification, one of his wives and eight of his children have joined him in Denmark. But Al Hasan wants all his children with him, as well as all his wives. Lawyers estimate that the remaining wives will be able to join their children in Denmark. The case has caused a shock not only because of what it will cost the Danish state just in child allowance, but because Al Hassan claims that he is too ill to work or even learn Danish. "I don't only have mental problems, but also physical problems..." He has admitted that his "mental illness" consists of missing the children he voluntarily left behind. Even if theoretically women can go to the police or press charges, they run the risk of being beaten or possibly divorced. Women's shelters are "full of Muslim women." The spokeswoman of Germany's Federal Employment Agency said that the establishment of a central registry of Islamic marriages would be helpful for investigating claims of fraud. A few years ago, Sweden's Center Party, one of the four parties in the center-right governing coalition at the time, proposed legalizing polygamy. The idea caused outrage; the proposal was dropped. The party's youth division, however, refused to let go: "We think it is important for the individual to decide how many people he or she wants to marry," said Hanna Wagenius, head of Center Youth, predicting that polygamy would be legal in ten years, when her generation would enter parliament and make sure of it. Sweden is not the only place in Scandinavia where "idealistic" youths have advocated polygamy. In 2012, the youth division of Denmark's Radikale Venstre Party ("Radical Left"), then part of the governing coalition in Denmark, also proposed that polygamy should be legalized in Denmark. The move came four years after an Iraqi asylum seeker, who had worked for the Danish military in Iraq as a translator and then fled to Denmark, arrived with two wives. As Denmark does not recognize bigamy and as he refused to divorce his second wife, he returned to Iraq. "It is unacceptable that we are so narrow-minded in Denmark, and will not help a man who has helped us. We want to do something about that," Ditte Søndergaard, head of Radikale Venstre Youth, said at the time. The proposal, however, did not find favor with any of the other political parties. As far-fetched as these proposals may sound, they signify the shifts taking place in the West regarding fundamental ethical issues of gender equality and the willingness to accommodate Islamic sharia law. They are also proof of an enduring willful blindness to the detrimental effects of the practice of polygamy, not only in terms of financial costs to the state, but also to the Muslim women and children, whose rights these young politicians purport to support. Muslim polygamy is only rarely debated in the media. The practice, therefore, despite its spread across the European continent -- spanning, among other countries, Sweden, Denmark, the UK, Germany, France and the Netherlands -- continues largely to hide under the public radar. As the practice is illegal across the continent and therefore not supposed to exist, there are no official statistics of polygamous marriages anywhere in Europe. Several countries, such as the UK, the Netherlands, Sweden and France, nevertheless recognize Muslim polygamous marriages if they were contracted abroad under certain circumstances, such as if polygamy is legal in the country where the marriage took place. It is estimated that as many as 20,000 polygamous Muslim marriages exist in Britain. In France, as polygamy was legal until 1993, the minimum estimate as early as 2006 was around 20,000 polygamous marriages. In Germany, it was estimated in 2012 that, in Berlin alone, 30% of all Arab men were married to more than one wife. In April, Swedish professor Göran Lind argued that it was time to "put one's foot down" regarding polygamy in Sweden, after it was disclosed that Sweden had recognized "hundreds" of polygamous marriages contracted abroad. Professor Lind pointed out that polygamy is not compatible with Swedish law, especially the principles of equal treatment of spouses, the equality of all human beings, and the prohibition against discrimination on the basis of gender, as codified in the European Convention on Human Rights. One might add to those the principles enshrined in the UN's Convention on the Elimination of All Discrimination Against Women, article 16, according to which, "States Parties shall take all appropriate measures to eliminate discrimination against women in all matters relating to marriage and family relations and in particular shall ensure, on a basis of equality of men and women: "(a) The same right to enter into marriage; "(b) The same right freely to choose a spouse and to enter into marriage only with their free and full consent." Considering how much time leading European politicians spend on assuring their electorates of their dedication to human rights, their tacit acceptance of these glaring violations of women's rights, as enshrined in the above conventions, which polygamy constitutes, is rather peculiar. The sheer volume of polygamous marriages, however, attests to the fact that such marriages are also entered into in Europe, in secret, through Islamic marriage ceremonies conducted by imams. In most European countries, imams are not required to report these marriages to the authorities. Therefore, despite the probable knowledge of the authorities, this illegal practice is basically allowed to flourish unhindered. As Islamic marriage does not legally exist in Europe, the woman entering into the union is left legally stranded and vulnerable with no means -- other than the local imam or sharia council -- of getting out of the marriage. Even if women can theoretically go to the police or press charges, they run the risk of being beaten or possibly divorced. Women's shelters are "full of Muslim women," as Ayaan Hirsi Ali, who worked in them, attests. Polygamous Muslim marriages are bound to become an even bigger problem in the wake of the migrant crisis. In Denmark these days, Daham Al Hasan is making headlines. He has twenty children with three wives, but two years ago fled alone from Syria to Denmark, and left his wives and children behind. Recently, under the Danish rules of family unification, one of his wives and eight of his children have joined him in Denmark. But Al Hasan wants all his children with him, as well as all his wives. He has been granted permission for nine additional children to join him, but as Denmark does not allow polygamy, the two remaining wives, under the same rules of family unification, are not permitted to join him. Lawyers, however, estimate that the remaining wives will also be able independently to join their children in Denmark, once they are there. The case has caused rather a shock in Denmark, not only because of the extraordinary size of the family, and what it will cost the Danish state just in child allowance, but because Al Hassan claims that he is too ill to work or even to learn Danish. He hasadmitted that his "mental illness" consists of missing the children he voluntarily left behind. This means that he and his family live exclusively off the Danish taxpayers' money. What is noteworthy about the current debate, however, is what is not being debated: namely that Al Hassan is a polygamist. While it is only natural that politicians and citizens feel violated and aggrieved about the financial costs to the Danish state, they should be equally concerned about the practice of polygamy. Yet not a single Danish feminist has spoken out about it. In the television documentary, "Sharia in Denmark", several imams recorded on a secret camera answered in the affirmative and without the least hesitation the question of whether a woman's husband was allowed to take another wife against his first wife's wish. For them, in fact, despite the fact that they live in a country where bigamy and polygamy are prohibited, for a man to take a second, third or fourth wife regardless of what any of them thought, seemed perfectly natural. A qualitative study about Muslim women in Denmark from 2009, performed by Tina Magaard for the Danish Ministry of Welfare, documented the practice of polygamy among Danish Muslims. One Turkish woman told the interviewers: "A growing group of women marries a man who is already married. They get married by an imam because then they become more accepted. Apparently, they have no alternative. They become ostracized if they were divorced and are on their own. Many would rather live a life where they get an identity -- then they belong somewhere and then they are accepted. And it is sad that it exists in Denmark. I think if they could count the numbers, which is very difficult, they are probably much higher than we think." Another woman, a Muslim convert, said: "This [polygamy] is something that I have really seen a lot of, there was a period when it became fashionable. I think it was five or six years ago, it was crazy, I think almost every second couple I knew, the man got himself an extra wife. But then, after a year or so, he regretted it or he divorced the first wife. I actually think there were twelve from my circle of friends where the husband got himself another wife." In a German documentary from 2013, the journalists found that Muslim men used polygamy as a means to commit fraud and obtain more welfare benefits. The tactic was to have their wives claim at the Employment Center that they were single women who did not know the father of their children. The story works because Germany, like other European countries, has no way of ascertaining the existence of an Islamic marriage, especially as German law does not obligate women to inform the authorities of their marital status. In the film, the journalists asked the spokeswoman of the Federal Employment Agency -- the supervisor of the local Employment Agencies responsible for paying out welfare benefits -- whether the Federal Employment Agency was aware of the many instances of fraud. The woman said that they were indeed aware of the polygamy and the ensuing fraud and even enumerated the places where it was rife: large cities in Western Germany, such as Berlin, Cologne and Frankfurt. The journalist then asked the woman why nothing was being done about it. "I believe these cultural differences are very sensitive, we are a very tolerant country," the woman said. Asked whether the Federal Employment Agency was perhaps too tolerant, the woman said that indeed she herself was wondering how it will all end. The woman then said that the establishment of a central registry of Islamic marriages would be most helpful and desirable, as it would make possible investigating claims of fraud; but that this was a matter for the politicians. Egypt’s al-Sisi Makes Extraordinary Speech on Islam

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi made an extraordinary speech on New Year’s Day to Cairo’s Al-Azhar and the Awqaf Ministry calling for a long overdue virtual ecclesiastical revolution in Islam.  This is 

something no Western leader has the had the courage to do, certainly not Barack Obama, despite his Muslim education.

Accusing the umma (world Islamic population) of encouraging the hostility of the entire world, al-Sisi’s speech is so dramatic and essentially revolutionary it brings to mind Khrushchev’s famous speech exposing Stalin. Many have called for a reformation of Islam, but for the leader of the largest Arab nation to do so has world-changing implications.

Here are the key parts as translated on Raymond Ibrahim’s blog:

I am referring here to the religious clerics.   We have to think hard about what we are facing—and I have, in fact, addressed this topic a couple of times before.  It’s inconceivable that the thinking that we hold most sacred should cause the entire umma [Islamic world] to be a source of anxiety, danger, killing and destruction for the rest of the world. Impossible!

That thinking—I am not saying “religion” but “thinking”—that corpus of texts and ideas that we have sacralized over the years, to the point that departing from them has become almost impossible, is antagonizing the entire world.  It’s antagonizing the entire world!

Is it possible that 1.6 billion people [Muslims] should want to kill the rest of the world’s inhabitants—that is 7 billion—so that they themselves may live? Impossible!

I am saying these words here at Al Azhar, before this assembly of scholars and ulema—Allah Almighty be witness to your truth on Judgment Day concerning that which I’m talking about now.

All this that I am telling you, you cannot feel it if you remain trapped within this mindset. You need to step outside of yourselves to be able to observe it and reflect on it from a more enlightened perspective.

I say and repeat again that we are in need of a religious revolution. You, imams, are responsible before Allah. The entire world, I say it again, the entire world is waiting for your next move… because this umma is being torn, it is being destroyed, it is being lost—and it is being lost by our own hands. [bolds mine]

Al-Sisi is certainly correct.  The whole world has been waiting for a long time for the next move of these imams or for somebody, anybody that will modernize Islam as other religions have done..  Whether that will happen, of course, is another question, but what al-Sisi is saying here is in many ways more revolutionary than the “Arab Spring.”  People ask, where are the “moderate Muslims”?  Well, one of them may be the president of Egypt. The boys from Hamas, Hezbollah, ISIS, Boko Haram, al Qaeda, etc., etc., are probably not too happy about what al-Sisi said.  Let’s hope he doesn’t suffer the fate of Anwar Sadat for his courage.

The “Good” Muslim Immigrants

The cliché that there is only a “small fringe” of Islamic “extremists” is really getting old. Blame it on a supposed naiveté of the liberal media and politicians like Secretary of State John Kerry, who recently told Catholic Church officials that poverty, “in many cases is the root cause of terrorism or even the root cause of the disenfranchisement of millions of people on this planet.” Poverty, as Michelle Malkin points out in her article, “John Kerry, Jihad Coddler,” has nothing to do with terrorism. Many terrorists are at least middle class while others are affluent and highly educated. Can liberals really be so naive, or is something else going on?Why can’t anyone in the mainstream media be honest and simply explain that the Islamic doctrine itself is to blame? If the answer is political correctness, or fear, why is it that our ancestors did not have this fear and had no trouble at all telling the truth about the violent nature of Islam? (See my article “Islam Hasn’t Changed: We Have” for quotes from dignitaries from the past and present.)

We have various articles with examples of violent Quranic verses calling for the rape, subjugation and murder of non-Muslims and apostates, but to get an overview, The Religion of Peace website has many summaries like “Ten Obvious Reasons Why Islam is NOT a Religion of Peace” and categories like Women’s Rights, Human Rights, Islamic Terror, etc. for anyone in the dark about the violent teachings of a political system ironically named the “religion of peace.” Instead of condemning websites like these as “hate speech”, it would be highly beneficial for these politicians and journalists to actually read them. They might learn something.

Y.K. Cherson’s article, “The Goal of Muslim Immigration According to Muhammad’s Teachings,” is another eye-opener, as well as “Islam: Against All Mankind.” If anyone is still hanging onto the idea that Islam is just another religion, believing that everyone should have the right to freedom of religion, it would serve them well to read the truth instead of buying the politically correct sound bites brainwashing our society today.

“Oh, but it’s not right to stereotype, and there are many good people everywhere.” Well, this is true, but it brings me to something that recently happened in November 2013, when a terrible tragedy occurred in Afghanistan. Trusted Afghan policemen posed for pictures with British soldiers, who were there to help, before gunning them down in cold blood. The British soldiers were there to train them, so after getting trained, the Afghans turned the guns around on their trainers. The very same thing kept happening to American soldiers. There was a program in place to train police officers in Afghanistan, but the US was forced to temporarily shut down that program in 2012, after too many insurgent attacks left American and other soldiers dead. In fact, there were 34 insider attacks throughout that year, which killed a total of 45 international troops.

One serious problem in our society today is the unrealistic belief among many Westerners that Muslims behave one way in their own countries but are different once they come over here. That could possibly be true if only Islam were not so central to these people’s lives and if assimilation were a part of Muslim immigration. It is not. Muslim imams actually preach that they are not to assimilate and should live in their own communities, following their own laws in order to not be “corrupted” by the infidel natives who have been compared to cattle, pigs, apes, and so on. They in turn create their own little world, their own Somalia, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Iraq, etc., in our countries, bringing the same culture they “supposedly” wanted to escape with them. And they do not abandon their “religion” which calls for our demise.

The West has been bringing over many refugees from these war-torn nations, which are often pitting Muslim against Muslim, Sunni against Shia, or are tribal conflicts, rather than any liberal delusion that it is a fight for a Western-style democracy. Now these refugees arrive with a mentality no different than what it was back home.

Not long ago, after the US military brought over five “good Iraqis” who helped America in the war, these five men brutally raped a Colorado woman so badly, it was almost fatal. They brought a violence and cruelty to a part of the US which is generally a nice place where the streets are clean, and you see people out riding their bikes and walking their dogs. In fact, it’s a military town- the Air Force Academy is located there.

But this is what the government does; it brings refugees over to resettle them in nice parts of the country which are later transformed into “little Somalia” or “little Iraq” once more refugees come along with their families. Then the Middle East or Africa are no longer “over there” but are right at home with us.

In this case of the rape, one of the offenders was even featured in the memoir of an American soldier. And after helping the US, he resettled in a land completely foreign to him, a land where Islam does not mix with our traditional Judeo-Christian values.

There have been countless cases of Muslim refugees committing rapes, murders and other crimes and involved in terror plots. One of the most astonishing cases was one I wrote about before. Two Iraqi refugees, Waad Alwan and Mohanad Hammadi, were already terrorists who fought against the US before being accepted into the refugee program and resettling in Kentucky. They pleaded guilty to terrorism charges after getting caught attempting to help Al Qaeda from their cozy new home in America.

The most bizarre part of the story is that they were being monitored by the FBI almost immediately upon arrival. So the government decides to bring over thousands of refugees, and then the FBI has to watch them? Wouldn’t it be easier to not bring them over in the first place?

This is the mentality of many Muslim immigrants.

Now as Christian immigration has decreased,Muslim immigration has doubled over the past decade. As I pointed out in “America Is Going Muslim,” the 2010 US Religion Census found that Islam is now the largest non-Christian religion in America. That means that the demographics of the country are changing dramatically, and so are our values.

Under Obama, these demographic changes are getting worse in a hurry. The Wall Street Journal reported that Obama is looking to “waive terror prevention laws in order to import thousands of Syrian Muslims to the US“, as Creeping Sharia puts it.

“U.S. plans to resettle thousands of Syrians displaced by their country’s civil war could hinge on those refugees receiving exemptions from laws aimed at preventing terrorists from entering the country.

“A U.S. official stated publicly for the first time this week that some of the 30,000 especially vulnerable Syrians the United Nations hopes to resettle by the end of 2014 will be referred to the U.S. for resettlement.”

What is Obama’s hurry to Islamize the country and bring in more potential terrorists? Perhaps he wants the US to look like the photos here? France now has around 750 no-go zones, where the Muslim population does not allow the police, firefighters or EMTs in and where crime is rampant. The UK, with already around 85 Sharia courts operating in order to handle disputes between Muslims, is moving in the same direction. Murders and rapes in these areas are going unreported.

According to the Daily Mail, “Chief Inspector of Constabulary Tom Winsor said police officers were simply never called to some neighborhoods, where law-abiding people rather than criminals administer their own form of justice.

“He said: ‘There are some communities born under other skies who will not involve the police at all. I am reluctant to name the communities in question, but there are communities from other cultures who would prefer to police themselves.’” (He is reluctant to name the communities due to political correctness of course. The way the world is now, he would probably get fired if he dared to say just what communities he’s talking about.)

“Honor killings, domestic violence, sexual abuse of children and female genital mutilations are some of the offences that are believed to be unreported in some cities.”

These same crimes take place in the US and all over the West in Muslim communities. The problem is not distinguishing between “good Muslims” and “bad Muslims” or “the extremists.” The problem is the doctrine of Islam itself. The adherents of the “religion of peace” are only following what their “holy” books command, and the sooner the West gets off its soapbox of politically correct pledges and attempting to save a world that does not want to be saved, the sooner we can get back to normality.
