Carly Isn't Pretty But She Is A Fighter And Someone Who Tells It Like It Is. We Like Her.

GOP presidential candidate Carly Fiorina shrugged off comments attributed to her rival Donald Trump on Wednesday in reference to her physical appearance.

In a new Rolling Stone profile, Trump is quoted as insulting Fiorina when he sees her being interviewed on television.

"Look at that face! … Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president?!" he is quoted. "I mean, she's a woman, and I'm not s'posedta say bad things, but really, folks, come on. Are we serious?"

"I think the comments speak for themselves, and all of the many, many, many thousands of voters out there that are helping me climb in the polls, yes, they're very serious," Fiorina said Thursday on Fox News Channel's "The Kelly File."

"Honestly, I'm not going to spend a single second wondering what Donald Trump means," she added. "But maybe, just maybe, I'm getting under his skin a little bit because I'm climbing in the polls."

Is Describing Fioriina As Not Pretty A Crime? It is Not PC, But It Ain't Wrong

Trump: I Made the Comments on Fiorina as an 'Entertainer'

Real estate mogul and frontrunner Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is receiving a lot of blowback after criticizing Carly Fiorina's face in a Rolling Stone article, but according to Politico, Donald Trump says he didn't mean any harm by the comments and was just being the "entertainer" that he is.

“Many of those comments are made as an entertainer because I did 'The Apprentice' and it was one of the top shows on television,” Trump told Greta Van Susteren on Thursday night. “Some comments are made as an entertainer and as everybody said, as an entertainer is a much different ball game.”

The Rolling Stone article illustrated a scene of Trump watching Fiorina on TV:

"Look at that face!' he cries. 'Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president?!' The laughter grows halting and faint behind him. 'I mean, she's a woman, and I'm not s'posed ta say bad things, but really, folks, come on. Are we serious?'”

Since being on the campaign trail, Trump has made multiple controversial comments about women, but Trump is sticking to his original statement that the remarks on Fiorina are not about her physically, but about her persona.

Trump added, "I’d like to say that nobody understands and nobody wants to do more for women," a popular line that "The Donald" has been heard citing before. "My wife was talking to me and she said you cherish women you really have to talk about it a little bit more.”

If fact, Trump touted that he is leading with women, and many other groups.

Apart from his feud with Fiorina, Trump also addressed his feuds with Ben Carson and Jeb Bush by simply noting that “When somebody knocks me like Jeb Bush or anybody else, I at least decide that I think it’s appropriate to fight back.”

However, after labeling Dr. Ben Carson an "OK Doctor" on CNN Thursday, Trump revised his statement to Van Susteren by saying, “I’m sure he’s a good doctor, I think that he’s overrated as a doctor."

Dr. Ben Carson was the first person to successfully separate conjoined twins and has surged to the no. 2 spot in the latest polls.

White House Involved In Rolling Stone Lying Story About UVA

Activist Who Introduced UVA's 'Jackie' to Magazine Linked to White House

By Courtney Coren

The girl at the University of Virginia, who allegedly falsely claimed she was gang raped at a campus fraternity house, was introduced to Rolling Stone magazine by an activist from the university with connections to White House advisers, making several visits to the White House herself.

Emily Renda worked at the Eisenhower Executive Office with her associates at the White House to develop resources such as websites and documents concerning the Obama administration's sexual assault policies, The Daily Caller is reporting.

Renda connected the alleged rape victim, "Jackie," with Rolling Stone reporter Sabrina Rubin Erdely, who broke the University of Virginia story, which has since been discredited.
"You figure into the article as a survivor, activist and mentor/support for Jackie," Erdely said to Renda in an email about the November story.

Renda has also become a frequent visitor to the White House where she has assisted President Barack Obama's rape advisers to develop publications for the White House Task Force To Prevent Students From Sexual Assault.

Rolling Stone issued an apology on Dec. 5 to its readers for discrepancies in theiraccount of a UVA freshman named Jackie, who claimed she was raped at a fraternity house. Other news outlets, including The Washington Post, began their own investigations.

Rolling Stone has asked the Columbia University journalism school to do a full audit of the story, promising to publish its full review once completed.

Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl has apparently been given an opportunity to talk to his family by telephone while he recovers at a U.S. military hospital in Germany, but has declined the offer, The Wall Street Journal reports.

The Journal quoted an unnamed U.S. official as saying doctors are moving slowly with Bergdahl because of the continuing controversy over his release. He was held almost five years by the Taliban-connected Haqqani network after being seized outside his base in Afghanistan.

But after President Barack Obama announced Bergdahl's release in a Rose Garden ceremony May 31 with Bergdhal's parents on hand, and White House National Security Adviser Susan Rice said Bergdahl served with "honor and disctintion" on television the next day, Bergdahl's former platoon members began to criticize him publicly.

Bergdahl walked away from his post without telling anyone in 2009 as was quickly seized and taken into captivity. He had walked off base on at least one prior occasion and returned.

Some of his platoon members have said he is a deserter,  but a military investigation of his disappearance is not yet complete until Bergdahl gives his own account. A 2012 Rolling Stone article quoted Bergdahl as telling his parents in emails that he was ashamed to be an American.

Bergdahl's release is also receiving political fallout. Members of Congress from both parties have criticized Obama for releasing five high-level Taliban officials from the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba without consulting them, as is legally required.

The White House has argued that Bergdahl's health and safety were at risk, making 30 days' notice impossible.

Further, Bergdahl's own father, Bob, has been criticized for speaking Arabic at the Rose Garden ceremony and for seeming to sympathize with his son's captors by growing a long beard and advocating via social media for release of all the Guantanamo detainees. The elder Bergdahl has said he wanted to appear sympathetic to the Taliban in hopes of securing his son's release.

But threats against the family and Bergdahl's hometown of Hailey, Idaho have forced the cancelation of a planned welcome-home celebration later this month.

All the controversy could play into Bergdahl's psychological recovery.

He continues to improve physically, but continues to need care psychologically as a result of his captivity, an official told NBC News.

Defense officials confirmed to NBC that Bergdahl was "locked up [and had] his movements restricted" after one of his five attempts at escape. The official said, "it’s not clear whether it was a small cell or a box, but he was apparently closely confined."

The New York Times reported that Bergdahl was put into a "shark cage."

As to reports Bergdahl was tortured, the official told NBC that "he was clearly treated more harshly at some times," but it is unclear whether that treatment ever rose to the level of torture.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid told The Associated Press on Friday that Bergdahl was kept under "good conditions."

McChrystal Fell On His Sword For The Mission. Was He Right? Probably Not Since Military Has Been Gutted Since!

McChrystal says he didn't want to resign

"I wanted to stay in the job," McChrystal told NBC's "Today." "But I wanted to do what was best for the mission."

McChrystal was the head of U.S. forces in Afghanistan 2010 when Rolling Stone magazine published an article in which he said the Obama administration hadn't committed enough troops to the embattled country. The story also quoted anonymous members of McChrystal's staff criticizing Vice President Biden and other White House officials over the war.

McChrystal apologized, but the ensuing media flare-up provoked the general to resign shortly after.

In his memoir, My Share of the Task, set for release on Monday, McChrystal accepts responsibility for the comments, and said the decision to step down was his alone.

"Regardless of how I judged the story for fairness or accuracy, responsibility was mine," the memoir says, according to reports.

"I called no one for advice," he continued.

In accepting McChrystal's resignation, Obama praised his "extraordinary dedication" to the country, but said the incident revealed conduct that "does not meet the standard that should be set by a commanding general."

"It undermines the civilian control of the military that is at the core of our Democratic system," Obama said at the time, "and it erodes the trust that's necessary for our team to work together to achieve our objectives in Afghanistan."

McChrystal was replaced by Gen. David Petraeus, who resigned as head of the CIA in November when news broke of his extramarital affair with his biographer.
