Maybe He Should Avoid Politics, Predicting The Future And Stay With Being Funny!

Maher Would Prefer A Recession Over Trump

HBO’s Bill Maher spoke about the issue caused by his previous comments that insisted a recession would be worth it if it undermined Trump’s popularity. He stated his critics should “take a course in perspective.” Adding, “A recession is a survivable event, what Trump is doing to this country is not.”
Maher stated, “[A]nyone who went apeshit in the last two weeks because I said going through a recession would be worth it if it undermined Trump’s popularity has to enroll in college and take a course in perspective. A recession is a survivable event, what Trump is doing to this country is not. Democracy is about to go the way of the dinosaurs because we’ve been taken over by a dodo bird.”
“Another recession is coming, not because I’m rooting for it, because someone passed a giant tax giveaway to the rich that added trillions to the debt and started a trade war for no reason and deliberately sabotaged the Affordable Care Act and rolled back the rules for banks so they can once again gamble with our money. Those are actual policies, from men with real power, as opposed to me, who just made a wish.”

ObamaCrapCare's Nutritional Requirements Are Insane For Some Businesses

Obamacare Will Force Pizza Parlors to Show 34,000,000 Calorie Options in Store

 Print

While former President Barack Obama is out of the White House, he left many messy pieces of legislation behind. One of the biggest and worst laws he ever created was the so-called Affordable Care Act, better known as Obamacare, and one of the more ridiculous aspects of it kicks in on May 5 — new nutritional-labeling rules being implemented by the Food and Drug Administration.
The law includes posting signs that include the calorie count for every item of food that appears on the menus of restaurants that have 20 or more locations, National Review’s Kevin Williamson reported.
The change might not be a bit deal for restaurants who offer a small selection of food, but for pizzerias, it’s a disaster that can only be attributed to the lunacy of the left. The labeling of nutritional values for every type of pizza could get out of hand quickly, not to mention costly.

Papa John CEO and founder John Schnatter told Politico in 2012 that the cost of implementing the rule would eventually cost the consumer.
“Our best estimate is that the Obamacare will cost 11 to 14 cents per pizza, or 15 to 20 cents per order from a corporate basis,” he said.
“We’re not supportive of Obamacare, like most businesses in our industry. But our business model and unit economics are about as ideal as you can get for a food company to absorb Obamacare,” he added.

Domino’s executive Tim McIntyre has similar things to say about the law. He told National Review’s Williamson that after doing the math, it would be expensive and cumbersome.
“With gluten-free crusts to thick to hand-tossed to pan pizza, multiple sizes, cheeses, toppings … there are about 34 million possible combinations,” he said. “That is difficult to put on a menu.”
It would also be difficult to post all of that information on a sign.
This law encapsulates the lunacy of so many Democrat laws and regulations that end up costing consumers too much and doing very little.

Does CNN Have Electronic Gremlins Or Are They Blaming Their "Losing Our Feed" Problems As A Way Of Preventing Opposition Points Of View?

Fake News: Watch What This

Liberal Network Did After

This Woman Trashed Obamacare

The liberal media isn't doing such a great job winning back the public trust.
Here's a good example, via the Free Beacon:
President Donald Trump held a listening session on Monday with those who

were negatively impacted by the Affordable Care Act (ACA), when CNN's

feed went to black and cut back to CNN host John King immediately after a woman shared her story.

Seriously. Check it out:

This is great. It's also not the first time CNN "lost its feed" at a convenient
moment. A cursory Google search reveals a few instances.

There was the time Rep. Chris Collins mentioned Wikileaks revelations
that suggested Hillary Clinton was dishonest and his feed was mysteriously cut:

Then there was the time CNN "lost its feed" after a guest began citing
 refugee crime statistics:

And the time they "lost their feed" when a Muslim woman defended her
vote for Trump:

CNN doesn't just have a feed problem, they have a credibility problem.

This Part Of ObamaCrapCare Needed To Be Struck Down. Common Sense Ruled, Hopefully Our "Generous" Government Will Not Appeal

COURT STRIKES DOWN OBAMACARE TRANSGENDER MANDATE

(The Daily Signal) While family and friends were counting down to the new year, I was watching a different kind of countdown—whether doctors and health care providers would be forced to violate their medical judgment and provide procedures, including gender transition services and abortions, under a new government mandate.
The mandate is a 362-page regulation that claims to interpret part of the Affordable Care Act. It was issued in May 2016, and major portions of this mandate would have kicked in on Jan. 1.
Becket Law had asked a Texas court for an order protecting health care providers. It was less than nine hours to midnight when we heard the good news: A Texas court issued an injunction protecting doctors and the families they serve from the mandate.
The court ruling came after eight states, an association of almost 18,000 doctors, and a Catholic hospital system challenged a new federal regulation that requires doctors to perform gender transition procedures on children, even if the doctor believes the treatment could harm the child.
Doctors who followed the Hippocratic oath—the historic medical vow that doctors take to act in the best interest of their patients—would have faced severe consequences, including losing their jobs.
This is a commonsense ruling. The government has no business forcing private doctors to perform procedures on children that the government itself recognizes can be harmful and exempts its own doctors from performing. The ruling ensures that doctors’ best medical judgment will not be replaced with political agendas and bureaucratic interference.
The federal regulation applied to over 900,000 doctors—nearly every doctor in the U.S.—and would have cost health care providers and taxpayers nearly $1 billion.
The government itself does not require its own military doctors to perform these procedures. It also does not require coverage of gender transition procedures in Medicare or Medicaid—even for adults—because the government medical experts that oversee those programs did not believe medical research demonstrates that gender reassignment surgery improves health outcomes, with some studies demonstrating that these procedures were in fact harmful.
But under the Department of Health and Human Services rule developed by political appointees, doctors citing the same evidence and using their best medical judgment in an individual case would have faced potential lawsuits or job loss.
A website about this court case provides leading research on the issue, including guidance the government itself relies on. This research shows that up to 94 percent of children with gender dysphoria will grow out of their dysphoria naturally and live healthy lives without the need for surgery or lifelong hormone regimens.
The government desperately wanted to avoid a court ruling on these facts, telling the Texas court that no injunction was needed. Instead, doctors should wait around to see if they got sued and then see whether the government would agree, based on the circumstances, that they were entitled to protection.
That argument was pretty rich coming from the Department of Health and Human Services, which has spent the last five years fighting lawsuits to limit conscience protections for groups like the Green family, who own Hobby Lobby, and the Little Sisters of the Poor.
In those cases and others, the government has been quick to argue for strict limits on protections like the Religious Freedom Restoration Act and the Church Amendment, which protects providers from having to perform abortions.
Never did the government claim that rulings on the contraceptive mandate should wait until someone brought a lawsuit and the government had time to weigh the issues and pick a side. The court didn’t buy that excuse, instead recognizing that the mandate would create immediate and irreparable harm to doctors nationwide.
This ruling is an across-the-board victory that will ensure that the deeply personal medical decision of a gender transition procedure remains between families and their doctors.
This case was brought jointly by Becket Law—which defended Franciscan Alliance, a religious hospital network sponsored by the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration, and the Christian Medical & Dental Associations—and by the Texas attorney general and the states of Texas, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Kentucky, Kansas, Louisiana, Arizona, and Mississippi.

The Daily Beast Does Hit Piece On Palin and Bannon. We Still Admire Palin.

FIRST LOVE

Steve Bannon’s Deep, Weird Adoration of Sarah Palin

Before he propelled Donald Trump into the White House, Bannon championed another right-wing diehard who was ready to burn it all down.

11.25.16 1:00 AM ET

Before Stephen Bannon was masterminding Donald Trump’s way into the White House, he tried to put Sarah Palin there.
The parallels between Palin and Trump—explicit populist appeal, contempt for the D.C. media, and a fast-and-loose approach to facts—point to Bannon’s overarching political strategy: empowering right-wing diehards willing to burn it all down.
And by the time Trump caught fire, Bannon was ready to go. He’d already tested out his playbook on Palin.
On July 11, 2011, Bannon went on a podcast hosted by Red State editor Ben Howe to promote one of his many documentaries, The Undefeated, a film about Palin featuring Mark Levin, Tammy Bruce, and other conservative pundits. In that previously unreported audio, Bannon—now Trump’s most powerful adviser—praised Palin for pushing the “death panels” lie about the Affordable Care Act and argued she was a viable, credible 2012 presidential contender.
He made the documentary as part of an effort to rehabilitate Palin’s damaged reputation in hopes she would run for president in 2012.
Palin’s return to Alaska after McCain/Palin’s 2008 loss to the Obama/Biden ticket hadn’t gone well. About six months after her return, she stepped down from the governorship before completing her term amid a blizzard of ethics complaints. But Bannon argued the political damage was only temporary.
“We have got to push back and we have got to take control of our own narrative,” he said on the podcast.
Palin’s resignation didn’t bother him. And it certainly didn’t deter her Tea Party fans. She became one of the most adored speakers on the conservative circuit, as anti-Obama candidates found momentum in the lead-up to the 2010 midterms. But Republican establishment leaders still detested her, and former John McCain staffers did little to defend her reputation. That’s where Bannon came in. He designed the documentary, as he explained to Howe on the podcast, to persuade disillusioned conservatives and independents that Palin had the experience and gravitas to lead the free world, and that the “lamestream” media’s depiction of her was just plain wrong.
“We allowed this woman to be trashed,” Bannon told Howe on the podcast, voice thick with remorse. “Nobody came to her defense.”
“Lesson learned,” he added. “It’s never going to happen again.”
The establishment, he argued, neglected to defend Palin because they feared her ability to fight the special interests they love.
“The Republican establishment is just a slow walk to the same endpoint of statism,” Bannon said. “And we’re radically opposed to that.”
And one of the best ways to stave off statism would be getting Palin to run for president. Bannon said that Palin deserved as much credibility as a 2012 contender as Mitt Romney did. He proudly took credit for a favorable Newsweek cover story about Palin that ran right before the theatrical release of the documentary. The cover showed Palin looking like a normal person—a rarity for magazine covers featuring her—with the headline “I Can Win.”
“It basically is the establishment ordaining that she is now part of the conversation,” he said of the cover, “and I think the film did that.”
And, he continued, Palin would have the guts to radically shrink the federal government, including shuttering several agencies.

“Forget waste, corruption, and abuse, that’s all marginal stuff,” Bannon said. “This is about going through, shutting down entire agencies. This is about closing entire departments. This is about taking the HUD and closing it.”
Palin wasn’t just qualified for the presidency because she was tough enough to roll back federal housing programs. Another of her selling points, according to Bannon, was her willingness to push myths about the Affordable Care Act.
“She was the first one to get on the death panels,” Bannon said. “And the first one to really get the town halls rockin’ and rollin’.
“It’s a pretty long track record here,” he added.
The Affordable Care Act didn’t include death panels. But that didn’t stop Palin from telling those rockin’ and rollin’ Tea Party crowds that Obamacare could be lethal. It was nonsense, and it won her PolitiFact’s Lie of the Year award. (To be fair, it wasn’t the only ACA-related lie that won that honor; Obama himself took it home for promising that Obamacare wouldn’t force people off health care plans they liked.)
There’s no evidence Bannon himself pushed the lie that the Affordable Care Act would result in secret panels making life-or-death decisions about Americans’ medical care. But suggesting that it was good to spread that lie highlights his comfort with using fact-free nonsense to try to get his people in power.
Palin’s lie didn’t just win her plaudits from Bannon, it also helped galvanize Tea Party activists willing to believe anything about the problems with the Affordable Care Act. And though it was divorced from reality, it was also politically potent. As PolitiFact detailed, the phrase “death panels” racked up thousands of media mentions. And anti-Obamacare fervor—which Palin helped stoke—played a major role in Republicans’ takeover of the House of Representatives in 2010.
And while Palin 2012 didn’t exactly pan out, Bannon still got what he wanted.
“I think he just really thought Palin was going to be the populist vehicle that Trump ultimately ended up being,” said Ben Howe, who interviewed Bannon on the podcast and has since become a vocal critic of him and Trump. “And it makes me realize how long he has been working this particular avenue to power. Hard to not be impressed that it worked.”

Will ObamaCrapCare Last Another Year Or Two?

Obamacare Collapsing Ahead of Schedule

By Patrick Watson   |   Wednesday, 25 Nov 2015 07:42 AM
Obamacare is falling apart even sooner than expected. Both insurers and patients say the new plans are unaffordable. That’s a bad sign for the “Affordable” Care Act.

When the first exchange plans launched in 2014, I said the program would help certain groups for a while but wasn’t long-term sustainable. My reason: the “reforms” did almost nothing to reduce bloated costs. I gave it five years before we would be right back where we started.

I was wrong. With year three about to begin, the dominoes are already falling.

The first hint was the collapse of a dozen insurance co-ops like New York’s Health Republic, which said it September it would wind down its operations by Nov. 30. They were apparently even more non-profit than expected.

The Affordable Care Act included a “risk corridor” plan that should have prevented this scenario. Profitable insurers paid into a fund that would subsidize losses in other plans.

As it turned out, profits were so scarce that the fund could only pay out 13 cents for each dollar of losses it should have reimbursed. That’s why Health Republic and the other co-ops shut down.

UnitedHealth Care (UNH), the nation’s biggest for-profit health insurer, said last week it was losing money on its Obamacare plans and might stop participating after 2016. That will leave Aetna (AET) and Anthem (ANTX) as the largest providers. Both say they will stick it out – but so did UnitedHealth until just last week.
Latest News Update

Meanwhile, convincing people to buy Obamacare plans is getting harder, not easier.

Millions are finding that narrow networks and high out-of-pocket costs make it difficult to use their shiny new insurance cards.

So, two years in and we see that insurers, doctors, hospitals, patients and taxpayers are all unhappy with Obamacare. Is this so-called reform working for anyone at all?

Yes. Drug companies have done well … but their gravy train is running out of fuel, too.

Right now terrorism is in the headlines, but I think by next summer we will see health care is once again a major campaign issue.  Election Day is Nov. 8, 2016 – one week after open enrollment starts and everyone sees their 2017 choices. I’ll be it won’t be pretty.

Now, it is certainly tempting to say, “I told you so” and cackle with glee as Obama’s signature achievement goes up in smoke. Yet the collapse hurts real people. Obamacare is not the answer, but the pre-Obamacare situation was not much better.

Republicans say they want to “repeal and replace” Obamacare. I agree, but replace it with what? That’s the tough part. All the alternative plans I’ve seen are vague, presumption-filled outlines.

Obamacare is proving what doesn’t work. Now we need to find out what does.
