Will He Still Be The Front Runner At The Democratic Convention?

New Poll Shows Beto Is Now The Democrats' 2020 Frontrunner. Here's Why.

PAUL RATJE / Contributor / Getty Images
On Tuesday, NBC News reported that a straw poll of MoveOn.org members – grassroots far-Leftists – favored failed Texas Senate candidate Beto O’Rourke over Joe Biden. Some 29 percent of respondents said they didn’t know who they wanted or wanted candidates not listed, but Rourke seized a narrow lead with 15.6 percent of respondents, followed by former Vice President Joe Biden at 14.9 percent and Senator Bernie Sanders at 13.1 percent.
That’s certainly a troubling sign for Sanders, who wants to recapitulate his 2016 run by recapturing the hearts of the so-called Bernie Bros. But it now looks like the Bernie Bros may have been wooed by the charismatic Texas representative, and may be turning away from the crotchety old Vermont socialist. What’s more, O’Rourke has crossover power with the two other segments of the Democratic base: the intersectional coalition that Barack Obama captured so easily in 2008, and the mainstream base that Sanders could never consolidate against Hillary Clinton.
In his Texas race, O’Rourke made intersectional concerns a priority; he campaigned heavily on the idea that police across the nation are institutionally racist. “We have something wrong,” he said. “If we have the largest prison population on the face of the planet and it is comprised of people of color, we have something wrong in this country.” This comment is odd, on its face – should we be releasing criminals based on the color of their skin? – but it’s par for the course in the intersectional race to the bottom for the Democrats.
O’Rourke has also fulfilled the far-Left fantasies of a politician who will pledge to abolish ICE, ban AR-15s, and push the Leftist fantasy of single payer healthcare. He’s called for impeachment of President Trump as well.
But he’s kept his connections with the mainstream: he was never a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, instead joining the New Democrat Coalition, “a centrist caucus with Clintonian views” according to social democratic columnist Elizabeth Bruenig. He’s also been rather mild on climate change issues, at least for the radical Left.
The media coverage received by O’Rourke in his race against the Left’s most hated senator, Ted Cruz, was adulatory in the extreme. As Jim Geraghty noted at National Review:
Correspondents seemed oddly fixated on his sweat. Politico swooned, “Sweat pours off his lean, 6-foot-4-inch frame.” In Vanity Fair, Peter Hamby described him “sweating through a button-down shirt at one of his jam-packed town halls.” The BBC wrote, “His toes are well over the edge of the boards” of the stage “and his suede shoes are soaking up dark splashes of sweat from his brow.”…. Reading through all of these profiles as they emphasize the same points over and over again — He was in a punk-rock band! He skateboards! He’s handsome! He’s Kennedyesque! He speaks fluent Spanish! — one keeps waiting for the section that describes what makes O’Rourke actually unique among Democratic candidates. And that section never arrives. There is no hardscrabble climb out of poverty, no tale of military heroism, no running into a burning building to save orphans, not even an occasion of helping get an old lady’s cat out of a tree.
And apparently O’Rourke’s serious DUI on his 26th birthday is no barrier to entry for Democrats complaining about the rampant immorality of President Trump.
All of which means that O’Rourke is formidable. And more importantly, it means that Bernie Sanders may be done – thanks, ironically, to his success in getting the Democratic Party to swallow his mantras and then digest them. Sanders is no longer radical, standing outside the party. He’s in the mainstream of the party, and there are more attractive candidates in the mainstream than a near-octogenarian with a penchant for wild misstatements.

Liberal Media Again "Massages" The News To Fit Its Anti-Gun Agenda

BUSTED! NBC News caught SILENCING grieving victims

by Kylie Handler, editor
On Wednesday, the father of a Florida massacre victim visited the White House to discuss safety in schools.
Andrew Pollack’s daughter was killed during the massacre and shared his ideas on how to prevent any future mass shooting — and he was censored by the mainstream media.
On Thursday, NBC highlighted Pollack’s speech, but the network intentionally edited out his notion that gun control is not the main issue right now.
During the emotional listening session with President Donald Trump, Pollack clearly stated “And it stops, we all work together and come up with the right idea and it’s school safety. It’s not about gun laws right now. That’s another fight, another battle.”
You can watch Pollack’s full speech here —
The liberal media was not too happy that Pollack did not play into their rhetoric, so instead of broadcasting his full speech they censored out, “It’s not about gun laws right now.”

On NBC’s “Today” show White House Correspondent Kristen Welker recounted her own version of the speech, “Earlier Wednesday, at the White House, more painful pleas to President Trump directly. Andrew Pollack’s daughter, Meadow, was among the 17 killed in Florida.”
She followed up by explaining that Pollack was imploring: “Should have been one school shooting and we should have fixed it! And I’m pissed! Because my daughter I’m not going to see again.”
Later in the morning, NBC “Today” show’s Savannah Gunthrie continued the misrepresentation of Pollack’s speech by explaining, “Lawmakers from Florida to the White House faced families impacted by gun violence, including the most recent school shooting in Florida, as they demand swift action to change our nation’s gun laws.”

During Gunthrie’s misrepresentation, a soundbite ran of Pollack’s speech — and of course, his comment on gun laws was missing.
This father was trying his hardest to reach the nation and address the safety that is needed for the children of America.
How can the mainstream media decide that his message is not good enough for their liberal network?
Solutions will only occur if there is an unrestricted flow of ideas. Allowing censorship at these networks will be the death of the most important voices that we all need to hear.

The exceptional team at the New York Post broke an exclusive story about the
real reason Matt Lauer was fired:
Matt Lauer allegedly sexually assaulted a female NBC staffer during the Sochi

Winter Olympics in 2014, sources told Page Six.

An NBC insider said Lauer’s alleged victim complained to HR on Monday:

“This happened so quickly. She didn’t go to the media, she made a complaint

to NBC’s human resources, and her evidence was so compelling that Matt

was fired on Tuesday night. The victim says she has evidence that this has

also happened to other women, but so far we don’t have evidence of that.”

Another source tells us that the decision to fire Lauer was made late Tuesday

night by NBC News chairman Andy Lack.

Lauer’s firing comes amid rumors that several news outlets were working

on stories about his alleged sexual misconduct.
It sounds like this might only be the beginning of Matt Lauer allegations.

Could Democrats Be Improving Their Standing?

Poll shows more Americans want Dems in Congress, but there’s a catch

Democrats might feel encouraged by a poll released Monday showing that more Americans want the left side of the aisle to control Congress than they want Republicans, but there’s a big catch that will dampen their spirits.
The poll from the Wall Street Journal and NBC News shows that 47% of Americans want Democrats to control the Congress, while only 43% want Republicans to control it. The rebound might be as a result of some of the failures in the first 100 days of the Trump administration, but Democrats shouldn’t celebrate too much.
While Democrats have a four-point edge at this very early stage, their advantage still falls short of the double-digit lead they held on the same question shortly before their big electoral victories in 2006 and 2008.
The greatest positive Democrats have is the continued popularity of former President Obama. According to the poll 52% of Americans have a positive view of the ex-president while only 33% have an unfavorable view.
That means the head of the Democratic party, despite it’s massive recent failures, is much more popular than the head of the Republican party, even though he won his election, and the party won both branches of government chosen by election. President Trump is 11 points underwater in favorability, with 39% positive towards him, and 50% negative towards him.
Meanwhile, Vice President Pence has nearly equal support (38%) as he has detractors among Americans (39%). Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump has support of 33% of Americans with 31% against her.
And House Speaker Paul Ryan fares the worst of all – his favorability gap has dropped by 17 points from February to 22% supporting him and 40% saying they have a bad impression of him.

Leftists Lose Mind Over FCC Investigating Colbert

FAKE NEWS: No, The ‘Fascist’ FCC Isn’t Cracking Down On Stephen Colbert

 Rant.”
 Joke.”
These are the headlines over the weekend from NBC News, The Hill, and Slate,
respectively, regarding a new FCC investigation regarding a lewd joke by NBC
late night comedian Stephen Colbert. Colbert, you’ll recall, joked that President
Trump was Vladimir Putin’s “c*** holster.”

There is something that these headlines seem to neglect: it is standard procedure
for the FCC to investigate possible violations of regulation based on complaints.
In other words, this wasn’t President Trump calling up the FCC and siccing the
dogs on Colbert – it was members of the general public filing complaints with
the FCC, and the FCC responding as it always does. In fact, FCC Chairman
Ajit Pai said last Wednesday, “The FCC – outside of our decency rules – we
don’t get into the business of regulating content…it’s a free country.” He added,
“People are willing and able to say anything these days…That’s one of the things
we have to respect going forward, what the courts have said about our legal
power in this area. By and large, unless it’s indecent, profane, obscene under
our rules or as interpreted by the Supreme Court, the FCC’s authority here is
 pretty limited.”
Yet the rumors continue to swirl that the Fascist Trump Nightmare has arrived.
Facebook and Twitter are replete with Trump opponents convinced that the
First Amendment has finally met its doom, with Colbert as the first martyr:

Don’t believe the rumors. If we’re truly worried about a crackdown on free
speech, we should focus on Berkeley, where leftists have used the violent
threat of Antifa to censor political opponents; Washington D.C., where Howard
Dean is stating that “hate speech” isn’t protected by the First Amendment,
and Democrats are attempting to stifle political spending during election
season; and yes, the White House, where President Trump has said he
wants to rewrite libel law. But the FCC and Stephen Colbert? Not a chance.
