Throw Away The Key!

Top alleged “Deep State” leaker arrested

by Stephen Dietrich, Associate Publisher
For years, President Donald Trump’s administration has been under attack by the so-called “Deep State” — a suspected cabal of top institutional figures in the government that the president has claimed are undermining him through leaks to the mainstream media.
Trump pledged to crackdown on these leakers. On Thursday, the FBI made their biggest arrest in their investigation so far.

Longtime Senate Intelligence Committee staffer James A. Wolfe, 57, was arrested on charges that he repeatedly lied to federal investigators about contacts with reporters in the mainstream media.
FBI agents have also seized years worth of phone and email records from New York Times reporter Ali Watkins as evidence against Wolfe.
Court documents claim that Wolfe used encrypted messaging applications on his phone and computer to contact four reporters, including Watkins. The arrest is part of the investigation into illegal leaks regarding the Trump administration that was first reported by Buzzfeed in Apr. 2017.
It’s suspected that Wolfe used his position as Senate Intelligence Committee security director to gain access to that information and illegally leak it to his friends in the media.

The crackdown on classified information leaks has been something the Trump administration has promised since last year.
“We intend to get to the bottom of these leaks. I think it has reached epidemic proportions. It cannot be allowed to continue, and we will do our best effort to ensure it does not continue,” Attorney General Jeff Sessions said in Nov. 2017.
The Senate Intelligence Committee is given access to huge amounts of classified information regarding government oversight of the FBI, CIA, NSA, as well as other top secret information. Wolfe, as security director, was tasked with enforcing the committee’s strict rules for lawmakers and staff on the circulation of this highly secretive information. He was also in charge of personal security and often escorted high profile witnesses, such as White House advisor Jared Kushner, to and from meetings.
After his arrest, Wolfe reportedly confessed to lying to investigators regarding the leaks and about his sexual relationship with Watkins.

“Mr. Wolfe’s alleged conduct is a betrayal of the extraordinary public trust that had been placed in him. It is hoped that these charges will be a warning to those who might lie to law enforcement to the detriment of the United States,” said Jessie Liu, the chief federal prosecutor in Washington, D.C.

Media Grudgingly Coming Around To Confirm That Trump Was Right

NBC Confirms Obama Admin Officials Had Trump Campaign under Surveillance

(Zero Hedge) Seemingly confirming the incriminating remarks from former Obama Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense, Evelyn Farkas, on the mad scramble by the Obama administration to collect and preserve intelligence on alleged Russian election hacking before Obama left office, NBC News reports that a former Obama official admits they made a list of Russia probe documents to keep them safe.
While most of the mainstrem media has conveniently dismissed the remarks from Evenlyn Farkas that accidentally implicated the Obama White House in the surveillance of Trump’s campaign staff:
The Trump folks, if they found out how we knew what we knew about the Trump staff dealing with Russians, that they would try to compromise those sources and methods, meaning we would not longer have access to that intelligence.
It seems now NBC News is confirming parts of her story…
Obama administration officials were so concerned about what would happen to key classified documents related to the Russia probe once President Trump took office that they created a list of document serial numbers to give to senior members of the Senate Intelligence Committee, a former Obama official told NBC News.
The official said that after the list of documents related to the probe into Russian interference in the U.S. election was created in early January, he hand-carried it to the committee members. The numbers themselves were not classified, said the official.
The purpose, said the official, was to make it “harder to bury” the information, “to share it with those on the Hill who could lawfully see the documents,” and to make sure it could reside in an Intelligence committee safe, “not just at Langley [CIA hq]…”

Obama Lied Again! ISIS Is Operational In US According Brennan

CIA Chief: ISIS Sending Operatives to US

Wednesday, 15 Jun 2016 08:52 PM
CIA Director John Brennan will tell Congress on Thursday that Islamic State militants are training and attempting to deploy operatives for further attacks on the West and will rely more on guerrilla-style tactics to compensate for their territorial losses.
In remarks prepared for the Senate Intelligence Committee, Brennan says IS has been working to build an apparatus to direct and inspire attacks against its foreign enemies, as in the recent attacks in Paris and Brussels — ones the CIA believes were directed by IS leaders.
"ISIL has a large cadre of Western fighters who could potentially serve as operatives for attacks in the West," Brennan said, using another acronym for the group. He said IS probably is working to smuggle them into countries, perhaps among refugee flows or through legitimate means of travel.
Brennan also noted the group's call for followers to conduct so-called lone-wolf attacks in their home countries. He called last week's attack in Orlando a "heinous act of wanton violence" and an "assault on the values of openness and tolerance" that define the United States as a nation.
He said IS is gradually cultivating its various branches into an interconnected network. The branch in Libya is likely the most advanced and most dangerous, but IS is trying to increase its influence in Africa, he said. The IS branch in the Sinai has become the "most active and capable terrorist group in Egypt," attacking the Egyptian military and government targets in addition to foreigners and tourists, such as the downing of a Russian passenger jet last October.

Special:
Other branches have struggled to gain traction, he says. "The Yemen branch, for instance, has been riven with factionalism. And the Afghanistan-Pakistan branch has struggled to maintain its cohesion, in part because of competition with the Taliban."
He called IS a "formidable adversary," but said the U.S.-led coalition has made progress combatting the group, which has had to surrender large swaths of territory in Iraq and Syria and has lost some of its leaders in airstrikes. IS has struggled to replenish its ranks of fighters, Brennan said, because fewer of them are traveling to Syria and others have defected.
"The group appears to be a long way from realizing the vision that Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi laid out when he declared the caliphate two years ago in Mosul," Iraq, Brennan said.
He said the group's ability to raise money has also been curtailed, although the group still continues to generate at least tens of millions of dollars in revenue each month, mostly from taxation and from sales of crude oil.
"Unfortunately, despite all our progress against ISIL on the battlefield and in the financial realm, our efforts have not reduced the group's terrorism capability and global reach," he said.
"In fact, as the pressure mounts on ISIL, we judge that it will intensify its global terror campaign to maintain its dominance of the global terrorism agenda."

Maybe This Is One Action That Obama Should Be Praised

CIA Planned to Take Out Assad in 2012, But Obama Refused

“The wicked are overthrown, and are not; but the house of the righteous shall stand.” Proverbs 12:7 (The Israel Bible™)
President Barack Obama stopped the CIA from carrying out a plan to overthrow Syrian President Bashar Assad’s government in 2012, a new book by a former CIA agent has revealed.
The CIA crafted a detailed, multi-stage plan to take out the dictator in the beginning years of the Syrian civil conflict, wrote former CIA operative Doug Laux, who spent a year meeting with Syrian rebels and intelligence officials in neighboring Gulf countries to prepare the operation and pass intelligence back to the CIA.

Laux, together with several other CIA agents, wrote and presented the plan to the Senate Intelligence Committee. It was eventually brought to Obama, who rejected it, confirmed a different former senior CIA official.
The White House and CIA leadership had made it clear that the goal of Laux’s task force was to remove Assad from office, but refused to actually okay a plan, said Laux, NBC News reported.
“We had come up with 50 good options to facilitate that. My ops plan laid them out in black and white. But political leadership…hadn’t given us the go-ahead to implement a single one,” Laux wrote.
The plan included supporting Syrian rebels as well as infiltrating Assad’s ranks, pressuring and bribing members of his regime to overthrow him.
At the same time, then-CIA Director David Petraeus was pushing for a large program to train and arm moderate Syrian rebels with the aim of decisively shifting the balance of power in the conflict. Obama eventually adopted a much smaller program which has not had much effect on the realities of the battlefield.
Today, Petraeus and other supporters of the more aggressive plan say that it could have prevented the rise of the Islamic State, Assad’s use of chemical weapons against his own people, and the ever-worsening European refugee crisis.
Republican Senator John McCain agreed, telling NBC News, “I’m confident we would be looking at a different Syria today if the president of the United States hadn’t overruled David Petraeus, head of the CIA, Hillary Clinton, secretary of state, and Leon Panetta, who was secretary of defense.”
Obama defended his actions by saying that a non-military attempt to “change the equation on the ground” in Syria would not have worked in any case.
However, Laux’s book paints a different picture. The US destroyed its credibility in the region, he wrote, by hesitating and by bluffing about the consequences of Assad’s actions, threatening military reprisals that never came.
Once it became clear that America would do little to halt the crisis, Hezbollah, Iran, and ISIS stepped in. Today, the Syrian “civil” war has become a bloody conflict ranging across the Middle East and even reaching Europe in the shape of refugees and militants hiding among them.
Laux, frustrated with the administration’s refusal to act, quit the CIA. While both the White House and CIA refused to comment on the contents of his book, which was heavily censored, the CIA’s spokesman released a statement which attacked Laux personally, saying, “Sadly, Mr. Laux’s career at CIA did not work out. We hope that someday, maybe with age and greater maturity, he will have better perspective on his time here.”

Did The White House Threaten A Reporter’s Career Over Benghazi? Greta Van Susteren Says Yes
SPECIAL

Love her, hate her or ignore her outright, Greta Van Susteren isn’t a media figure who makes her living by testing the bounds of plausibility along the outermost fringes of conspiracy theory. That’s why it’s hard not to sit up and take notice when she writes that someone inside the Obama Administration threatened to end the career of a fellow reporter who was digging too deep into the Benghazi story.
Late last week, Van Susteren posted a damning account of how the Administration of President Barack Obama handled inquiries from FOX News after the Sept. 11, 2012 U.S. Consulate attack in Benghazi, Libya, took the lives of one ambassador and three other Americans.
Given the demographics of its viewer base, it’s not remarkable that FOX News would go after the White House with more ardor than other mainstream news agencies when it comes to the concocted narrative spun by then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the Obama Administration. But Van Susteren spoke with jarring conviction when she offered this (boldface and underline features are preserved from the original text):
As an aside, does the Obama Administration think politics is the reason theDemocratically led Senate Intelligence Committee opened its investigation [into Benghazi]? Obviously not.
It is also interesting to note that The New York Times, thought by many to be the gold standard in journalism, recently reported that it was not Al Qaeda. According to the bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee report, the NY Times reporting is wrong. (Yes, the same New York Times that reported there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. That was wrong, too.)
And then as I was sitting at my desk thinking about the reporting since September 2012, I thought about the weirdest of all and the worst of all for me personally! I remembered a disturbing phone call from a good friend in the Obama Administration. I have known this friend for years. The call was a short time after 9/11 (maybe Oct. 2012?) In the call, my friend told me that my colleague Jennifer Griffin, who was aggressively reporting on Benghazi, was wrong and that, as a favor to me, my friend in the Administration was telling me so that I could tell Jennifer so that she did not ruin her career. My friend was telling me to tell Jennifer to stop her reporting. Ruin her career?
In 20 plus years, I have never received a call to try and shut down a colleague — not that I even could — this was a first. Here is what I know: Jennifer is a class act….experienced..and a very responsible journalist. One of the absolute best in the business — no axe to grind, she just wants the facts.
I told my friend before I go to Jennifer telling her she is wrong, I need proof she is wrong, strong proof and you need to be specific — what are you saying she is getting wrong? We went around and around — including the statement again that this was just a call as a favor to Jennifer and me to save Jennifer’s career from reporting incorrect information. I got no proof. Zero. I smelled a rat. Favor to me? Hardly. My friend was trying to use me. I feel bad that a friend did that to me, tried to use me for a dirty reason. I knew then — and it is now confirmed by BIPARTISAN Senate Intelligence Committee — Jennifer was getting her facts right. I think it is really low for the Administration to stoop this low.
Even as the left dissembles away the Benghazi conspiracy (after all, an election’s coming up), the scandal just won’t go away. With mainstream reporters like Susteren and CBS’s Sharyl Atkisson coming forward not only with new information about the attack itself, but also the Obama Administration’s iron-fisted damage control, it’s an open question whether the American public has truly heard the last explosion in the long series of Benghazi bombshells.
