KUSI News reporter Dan Plante's stellar storytelling in San Diego wasn't quite what CNN was looking for last week when they called the local affiliate. They were hoping the station would tell them how ineffective walls are and prove President Trump wrong in his quest for border security, but KUSI had come to the opposite conclusion. According to the border patrol agents they'd talked to, the wall was largely doing its job.

"Knowing this, CNN declined to have us on their programs, which often present the wall as not required," the KUSI anchors explained. "They didn’t like what they heard from us.”

It turns out walls work in San Diego too, according to NY Post opinion writer Paul Sperry. In his latest piece, Sperry explains that since the border fence was built during the Bush administration, drug trafficking and crime have plummeted.

Federal data illustrates just how remarkable the turnaround in crime has been since the fence was built. According to FBI tables, property crimes in El Paso have plunged more than 37 percent to 12,357 from their pre-fence peak of 19,702 a year, while violent crimes have dropped more than 6 percent to 2,682 from a peak of 2,861 a year.

The overall crime rate in El Paso continued to fall last year, prompting city leaders to trumpet the good news in a press release that noted, “Because El Paso is a border town, its low crime rate may surprise you.” (NY Post)

Additionally, the marijuana and cocaine coming in through the city has been "cut in half."

"All told, a legion of empirical evidence supports the idea a southern border wall could, in fact, work," Sperry says as he nears his conclusion.

It's safe to say CNN won't be doing a segment on Sperry's piece either.

What do the American people want: A wide-open border, or a protective wall guarding America’s southern border?

If the average American voter was asked that question last month, the media would be very happy to report that only 29 percent of Independent voters thought building the wall was necessary.

The latest Washington Post/ABC News poll, however, has left Democratic leaders like Nancy Pelosi stunned.

In just a few months, support for the construction of the wall has skyrocketed across every major voting demographic.

“This time last year, the poll claimed that only 34 percent of voters supported a wall at the U.S.-Mexico border,” Breitbartreported. “Today, support for the wall has climbed to 42 percent overall. Most notable, swing voters are increasingly supportive of the border wall to control immigration.”

In fact, 40 percent of independent voters now say that a wall is necessary to keep America safe, an 11-point jump.

And 87 percent of Republicans also agree that a border wall must be built, a 16-point increase.

Among registered voters overall, support for the construction of the border wall has increased 8 percentage points since President Donald Trump made his address to the nation.

There’s been a sharp increase in recent months.

November 2018 saw the highest spike in illegal crossings in over 12 years. Border patrol has warned that a new mass migration caravan has started making it’s way north and is expected to crash into the U.S. border in a few weeks.

An estimate 600,000 illegal immigrants are expected to cross the U.S.-Mexico border in 2019, authorities say.

Here's The Deal That The Democrats Should Strike, If They Wanted To Protect The US

There is a wall deal to be done. If Democrats actually loved America and cared about the safety of our children, it could get done. But it's clear they don't.

A deal is there for the taking. Before there was President Donald Trump, there was deal-maker extraordinaire Trump. That Trump wrote "The Art of the Deal." That Trump loves to negotiate. That Trump understands how to get a deal done. That Trump understands that both sides need to win something.

I've got that deal. But first, a few thoughts.

As I write this, the government has been shut down for five days. Anyone notice? Me neither. Time flies when you're having fun! Government is shut down, and it doesn't affect most of us one bit. That's why they call it "nonessential." Maybe we should learn a lesson and fire these "nonessential" employees permanently.

On to the economy. Retail sales figures are out for Christmas. They are the best in many years. American consumers are buying like crazy. The media and economic "experts" preach doom and gloom all day about a collapsing stock market and a coming recession. Yet the Trump economic boom won't cooperate. Retail sales are soaring -- in the middle of a stock market crash. Gross domestic product is down slightly. But it's still 3.4 percent -- that's double Obama's typical GDP. You can't stop Trump.

And that is precisely why liberals, D.C. swampers, deep staters, Never Trumpers, the liberal media and even the GOP establishment are so bitter, angry, hateful and negative toward Trump. They're jealous. None of them could produce what Trump has produced.

Finally, we have Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. She compared illegal alien migrants trying to break into America to baby Jesus. Here's the truth in the real world, not the airy-fairy, make-believe world of socialists: The odds of finding another baby Jesus among the illegals invading America are zero. But the odds that among the illegal alien mobs are some gang members, drug traffickers and other criminals are 100 percent.

We need the wall -- along with billions of dollars in high-tech surveillance equipment and thousands of new border agents. It's not either/or. We need all of it. So here's the deal. It's a win-win.

Part 1: We (Trump, the GOP and I) get full funding for the wall. Democrats get full funding for the new Hudson River tunnel in New York. Everyone wins. We all get something we want.

Part 2: We end chain migration, the visa lottery and birthright citizenship. Adios. Democrats get a deal for the "Dreamers." They get to stay. We all get something we want.

Everyone wins. It's that simple. That's the deal to be done. But we all know Democrats won't do it. They have no interest in a deal. They need open borders to win elections.

Thus, Trump has two options to make it happen. Either use an executive order declaring a national security emergency and reassign $25 billion from the military budget, or pass it out of the Senate using "budget reconciliation." That requires only 51 votes to pass. Case closed. We get our wall. Dems get nothing in return. You decide.

The federal government has arrested a 24-year-old illegal immigrant
after he kidnapped a teen girl from her birthday party and raped her.

Andres Castaneda-Guzman, a Mexican national in the United States illegally,
has pleaded not guilty to charges of kidnapping a minor and transporting her
across state lines for unlawful sexual activity.

His victim was merely 15, and Castaneda-Guzman had allegedly pursued her
for weeks. Authorities have not revealed the girl's identity. She is reportedly a
distant relative of Castaneda-Guzman and turned down his advances. However,
Castaneda-Guzman continued to act "jealous and possessive" towards her.

At the girl's birthday party on September 2, where Castaneda-Guzman was a
guest, he offered to drive his victim to meet invited guests who had gotten lost.
The girl's parents searched for their daughter and reported her missing later
that night.

Castaneda-Guzman drove his victim from her hometown of Terrell, Texas, to
Georgia, where he had previously lived. At some point, the victim found a
cell phone and attempted to call her parents, but Castaneda-Guzman
apparently caught her and removed the battery.

Soon after, Castaneda-Guzman took her to a La Quinta Inn in Stockbridge,
Georgia, where he raped her.

Following a tip from a friend, the victim's family and police pursued
Castaneda-Guzman and his victim, finding them at a trailer park in Clayton
County, Georgia.

Castaneda-Guzman also faces allegations of violating the federal kidnapping
statute that prohibits kidnapping or abducting a person for ransom, reward,
or other desired purpose, including sexual indulgence, but law enforcement
has not filed those charges, yet.
