NBC Presents Fake News As If It Was True--What Were They Thinking?

US Amb. Calls Out NBC for Falling for Fake News From NK Communists

For those who want to chart the downward spiral of NBC’s news division, one needs only to look at the diminishing returns of its nightly newscasters.
First, Huntley and Brinkley, the distinguished duo who were contemporaries of Walter Cronkite. Then, Tom Brokaw, the man credited with coining the term “the greatest generation.” Then, Brian Williams, the anchor who was shot at in a military helicopter just days after he won the Daytona 500 in a Yugo with a group of trained hamsters as a pit crew.
And now we have Lester Holt, who can easily be deceived by a North Korean act of fakery so blatant anyone with one working eye and two functioning brain cells could suss it out for themselves.
Holt, as well as a fair number of the network’s bepeacocked crew, are over on the Korean Peninsula to promote the 2018 Winter Olympics. The games, which will be held in PyeongChang, South Korea, will be broadcast on NBC.
The host of the NBC Nightly News decided to take a jaunt up to the communist North in order to visit the Masikryong ski resort, described by Yahoo as “a facility that was personally ordered by Kim Jong Un and is typically empty.”

Yet, the anchor told his audience that the ski resort was a “source of immense pride for a country trying to present a new and modern face to the world.”
“We have been treated with respect here,” Holt said as he delivered his report from Masikryong on Monday, noting that members of both the South Korean and North Korean teams would be training there as part of an ersatz Olympics alliance.
Now, see if you can notice what was wrong that Lester Holt didn’t. U.S. Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell certainly did.

Yes, the fact that every single individual skiing at the resort seems to have chosen ski clothing that looks like it all came from the same outfitter doesn’t seem to have registered with Holt during his report.
Or, as Yahoo News put it: “But as Holt delivered the TV report, he failed to notice that the North Korean government appeared to have drafted in skiers who wore identical outfits in an attempt to give the impression of a busy and progressive ski resort.”
There is an alternate explanation, which is that Holt wanted to make it out of North Korea in a better state than Otto Warmbier. This is perhaps understandable, although detaining and/or torturing a foreign news anchor usually isn’t a good way to ensure your country’s continued existence.
Either way, you really do have to hand it to Lester Holt and NBC. They either didn’t realize a ruse when they saw one or they lacked the courage to call it as fake news. Neither one is particularly flattering.
A New York Post editorial slammed NBC’s “coverage” hard:
‘Yes, NBC is eager to promote next month’s Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. But that hardly required anyone to travel north of the DMZ to film propaganda for a regime that enslaves 25 million people — and holds another 50 million southerners as quasi-hostages, under constant (if low-grade) threat of war.”
If Lester Holt and Co. didn’t realize a starving dictatorship was putting on a show for them via a “thriving” ski resort, why should we take anything they say seriously?
If they did realize it was a put-on and kept up the show, what they ended up airing was nothing more than propaganda for the North Korean communists … so why should we take anything they say seriously, either?
Say what you will about Brian Williams and his fake news, but at least he could probably tell when when the North Koreans were putting him on like this.

Liberal States Lose Manufacturers. One Day They Will Awaken To No Companies Supporting Their Liberal Policies

Gun Maker Sick of Liberals, Abandons Calif. for Freer State

Another gun manufacturer has decided to vote with its feet. In this case, beating feet away from a state government that is openly hostile to the Second Amendment as well as from runaway tax-happy bureaucrats who never met a business they didn’t want to over-regulate.
According to Bob Adelmann of The New American, yet another manufacturing company has decided to pack up its entire kit and caboodle and leave the socialism-friendly confines of California.
Perhaps subconsciously borrowing from President Trump’s catchphrase, Weatherby, Inc., is sending the message to the world that it has every intention of Making Weatherby Great Again.
As it turns out, Weatherby manufactures high-end, top-quality custom rifles and shotguns for the discerning shooter. The gun maker is also obviously sick of being under the thumb of Gov. Jerry Brown, a Democratic controlled State Senate and State Assembly.
As Adelmann notes, company president Adam Weatherby, grandson of the founder of Weatherby Inc., dropped quite the bombshell in an announcement regarding his Paso Robles, California-company.

In a statement, Weatherby made it clear why the company was moving:
“We wanted a place where we could retain a great workforce, and where our employees could live an outdoor lifestyle.
We wanted to move to a state where we can grow into our brand. Wyoming means new opportunities.”

Starting in 2019, it’ll be “goodbye Golden State, hello Cowboy State.”
While Weatherby starting anew in Wyoming might not be that big of a hit to the smoldering wreck that is the California economy, the gun manufacturing company will surely be quite the boon to Sheridan, Wyoming (population 17,444).
Weatherby is looking to bring somewhere between 70 and 90 new jobs to Wyoming, but perhaps more important to the townsfolk, a yearly payroll of roughly $5 million.
And Weatherby isn’t the only job creator pulling the plug on Democrat Party-controlled states.

The New American also cites the following companies bidding perhaps a less-than fond hasta la vista to their current business-unfriendly states:
    • Magpul Industries, which pulled out of increasingly anti-gun Colorado in 2013 and moved its factories to Cheyenne, Wyoming.
    • Beretta, which left Maryland for Tennessee in 2016.
    • Remington Arms, which moved from New York to Alabama in 2014.
    • Colt and Sturm Ruger, which moved to Texas and North Carolina respectively.
Apparently a motivating factor in Weatherby’s decision to relocate would be the seemingly never-ending stream of new taxes and state regulations emanating out of Sacramento.
As reported by Edmund DeMarche of Fox News, two elected Democrat lawmakers have introduced a bill that would take away half of the Trump Tax Break from certain California-based companies:
“Calling the Trump administration’s tax reform plan a “middle-class tax increase,” two California lawmakers introduced a bill that would force large companies to fork over half of their expected savings to the state.
“Assemblymen Kevin McCarty and Phil Ting, both Democrats, introduced Assembly Constitutional Amendment 22, which calls for a 10 percent surcharge on companies with a net earnings over $1 million. The plan could potentially raise billions for the state’s social services programs.”
But wait! Hasn’t the state government already given a new and hefty tax on the job-creators? Yep, sure did.
As reported by CNN back in 2012;
The measure (Prop 30) creates three new personal income tax brackets for rich residents and adds a quarter-cent to the sales tax. The higher tax rates, which hit single filers making $250,000 and up and married taxpayers earning at least $500,000, last for seven years, and push the top tax rate to 12.3% for filers earning $500,000 and above, or $1 million per couple. It is effective starting with the 2012 tax year.

Its Good To See Democrats Attacking Each Other

On Monday, after news broke that the Senate Democrats had caved to Republicans on the government shutdown, earning a mere promise for a vote on immigration legislation, House Democrats opened fire on Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), among others. Rep. Luis Guttierez (D-IL) grumbled, “They caved. They blinked. That’s what they do.” The only Senate Democrats who held out were from deep blue states, except for 2020 presidential hopeful Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT). House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) even jumped into the fray: “I don’t see that there’s any reason — I’m speaking personally and hearing from my members — to support what was put forth.”
Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) fumed, “The Majority Leader’s comments last night fell far short of the ironclad guarantee I needed to support a stopgap spending bill. … I will do everything in my power to continue to protect DREAMers from deportation.”
So, what did Democrats get from this shutdown?
Here’s the full list: the perception that Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) had outlasted them at the negotiating table; the understanding that Democrats will be unable to fight Republicans using a government shutdown as leverage, at least on the issue of illegal immigration; the impression that Democrats care more about illegal immigrants than military members; a Democratic base that now believes the Democrats are on the run; the impression that Democrats were responsible for the shutdown.
Ouch.
What have Republicans gained?
They’ve gained the perception that they can govern; combined with the tax cut bill, Republicans in Congress have done their job and forced Democrats into a position of irrelevance. Furthermore, the White House now says that it will not sign the Graham-Durbin proposal, a Senate bill to legalize illegal immigrant children and their parents, and hand citizenship to the kids.

FBI Agents Wanted To Curry Favor With Hillary Regardless Of The Legality Of Her Actions

On Thursday night, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) released seven pages of texts between FBI counterintelligence agent Peter Strzock and his FBI paramour, Lisa Page. Those texts show that both Strzok and Page were interested in letting Hillary Clinton off the hook so as to earn the FBI goodwill with the presumed next president.
Page wrote to Strzok on February 25, 2016, “One more thing: she might be our next president. The last thing you need us going in there loaded for bear. You think she’s going to remember or care that it was more doj than fbi?” The obvious implication here is that Page wanted to go easy on Clinton in order to curry favor. Strzok wrote back, “Agreed. I called [FBI counterintelligence head] Bill [Priestap] and relayed what we discussed. He agrees. I will email you and [redacted] same.”
Another of the texts from Page to Strzok suggested that then-FBI chief of staff James Rybicki thought FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe should recuse himself from the Clinton matter because of his wife’s relationship with Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe. She wrote, “Rybicki just called to check in. He very clearly 100% believes that Andy should be recused because of the ‘perception.’”
Grassley states in a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray, “In October 2015, then-Director Comey said, ‘If you know my folks…they don’t give a rip about politics.’…They cared very much about politics, to the detriment of the Bureau’s mission and objectivity.”
All of this is damning stuff. It explains just why Republicans are so deeply skeptical of the FBI’s investigation, not merely into Hillary Clinton, but into supposed Trump-Russia collusion. The Hillary Clinton investigation was clearly politicized, and both Strzock and Page were involved in the Trump investigation as well. No wonder trust in the FBI seems to be collapsing among Republicans.

Mueller's Firing Threat Was Not Real

BREAKING: NYT Reports Trump Ordered Mueller FIRED Last June, Then Backed Down

On Thursday evening, The New York Times broke a bombshell story: back in June 2017, as it became clear that special counsel Robert Mueller was looking for a pattern of possible obstruction of justice in President Trump’s behavior, Trump ordered Mueller fired. He only retracted the order when White House counsel Don McGahn threatened to quit.
According to the Times report, Trump said that Mueller had three different conflicts of interest:
  • Trump said Mueller had resigned his membership at the Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia years ago over a dispute over membership fees;
  • Trump said Mueller couldn’t be impartial because his law firm had represented Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner;
  • Trump said that Mueller had been up for the FBI director position before he was appointed special counsel.
The Times reports:
After receiving the president’s order to fire Mr. Mueller, the White House counsel, Donald F. McGahn II, refused to ask the Justice Department to dismiss the special counsel, saying he would quit instead, the people said. They spoke on the condition of anonymity because they did not want to be identified discussing a continuing investigation. Mr. McGahn disagreed with the president’s case and told senior White House officials that firing Mr. Mueller would have a catastrophic effect on Mr. Trump’s presidency. Mr. McGahn also told White House officials that Mr. Trump would not follow through on the dismissal on his own. The president then backed off.
Trump lawyer Ty Cobb refused to comment on the report.
The story could be used by the Mueller team as yet another link in the chain of possible obstruction — if Mueller strings together the following facts, he could make the case that Trump was attempting to block the progress of the Trump-Russia collusion investigation:
  • The firing of former National Security Advisor Mike Flynn, which Trump has implied was prompted by Flynn lying to the FBI;
  • The president reportedly asking FBI director James Comey to lay off of Flynn;
  • The president’s firing of Comey, and acknowledgement publicly that it had to do with the Russia investigation;
  • The president’s continuous stream of invective against Attorney General Jeff Sessions regarding Sessions’ recusal in the Russia investigation;
  • The president’s attacks on deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein;
  • The president’s attacks on deputy FBI director Andrew McCabe;
  • And now, the president’s apparent attempt to fire Mueller.
Now, none of this amounts to legal obstruction – the president is the head of the executive branch, and the investigation has not been quieted in any way, as even Comey acknowledged. But if Mueller wants to set the groundwork for a possible Democratic impeachment effort, this latest piece of the puzzle will be added to that litany.

In 2005, when Barack Obama was still an Illinois senator, a journalist snapped a photo of him with Louis Farrakhan, the leader of the Nation of Islam movement, a notorious anti-Semite.
The Trice Edney News Wire published the photo that was taken by Askia Muhammad at a meeting of the Congressional Black Caucus. A member of the caucus approached Muhammad and requested that he not publish the photo and the disk containing the photo was turned over to Farrakhan’s chief of staff.
The photographer, Askia Muhammad, said that he “gave the picture up at the time and basically swore secrecy.”

“But after the nomination was secured and all the way up until the inauguration; then for eight years after he was President, it was kept under cover,” Muhammad said. He did, however, copy the photo onto his personal computer.\
Muhammad also reported that followers of the Nation of Islam worked in Obama’s campaign office.
The photo and the story surrounding it are being published in Muhammad’s book, “The Autobiography of Charles 67X”.
Harvard Law Professor and longtime Democrat Alan Dershowitz supported Obama in his presidential campaign but in an interview on Fox and Friends on Saturday, Dershowitz said he would not have campaigned for him had he known about the candidate’s connection with Farrakhan, who he called a “virulent anti-Semite and anti-American.”
“He has called Judaism a gutter religion. He is a horrible, horrible human being,” Dershowitz said about the leader of the Nation of Islam movement.
A possible connection with Farrakhan became an issue in Obama’s first campaign in 2008 when he expressed support for the candidate. Obama’s pastor, Reverend Jeremiah Wright had praised Farrakhan on several occasions. Hillary Clinton raised the issue of Farrakhan’s support in a primary debate. Obama won 78 percent of the Jewish vote in that election and 69 percent in his next election.

Days after the heinous school shooting in Marshall County, Kentucky, Chelsea

 Handler blamed the NRA and warned students: “Don’t go to school if you don’t 
want to get shot.”

Handler’s comments on the Marshall County High School shooting were issued
 in response to President Donald Trump’s consoling comments to the families of
 those killed and wounded in the January 23 incident. Handler has repeatedly 
attacked legal gun owners following tragic shootings.
 

In November, the Netflix talk show host blamed “Republicans” for a shooting 
at a Texas church that claimed the lives of 24 people, and previously claimed
 that gun ownership is a “hobby” that should be restricted.

“We’re way behind the times in terms of gun control in this country, and it
 doesn’t seem like it’s going anywhere anytime soon,” Handler told the 
Hollywood Reporter in June, days before being honored at the anti-gun Brady
 Center’s Bear Awards. “Our voices just need to keep getting louder, and the
people that make an impact need to really just step up and stick their necks
 out a little bit more.”
