Are We Starting To See The "Leave Hillary Alone" Approach To Law Enforcement?

Jill Kelley to Newsmax: FBI Hassled Me But They Won't Touch Hillary

Monday, 04 Apr 2016 04:54 PM
Jill Kelley — whose friendship with Gen. David Petraeus led FBI officials to investigate her background, a probe she says violated her privacy — says she doubts the agency will recommend Hillary Clinton be indicted for using a private email server during her time as secretary of state.

"I don't [think so]. You know why? Only because of one thing … This new director [James Comey] is, I heard, a very good guy, he has bosses and they're the same bosses that did this to Gen. Petraeus and my family," Kelley said Monday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"So no I don't believe anything negative is going to happen to Hillary because the FBI bosses, no matter how good his intentions are to bring justice, he still has bosses and they're the same government that did this to my family."

Kelley, a Florida socialite and former honorary diplomat, is author of the new self-published book, "Collateral Damage: Petraeus/Power/Politics and the Abuse of Power."

She said she was scrutinized by the FBI, then headed by Robert Mueller after she reported receiving threatening emails, later traced to Petraeus' jealous mistress Paula Broadwell. Petraeus resigned as director of the CIA after his extramarital affair was bared.

The FBI is now looking into Clinton's use of a private server as secretary of state, a practice which reportedly led to classified government information being passed in an unsecure manner.

Trump Followers Are Dead Set Against GOP Tricks

GOP voters in no mood for party tricks

title

Personal Liberty Poll

Exercise your right to vote.
A couple of interesting polls out this week illustrate just how much damage the GOP leadership may risk if voters get the impression that the party is snubbing Donald Trump for a more establishment nominee leading up to the convention.
With talk of a brokered convention this summer heating up, Rasmussen asked GOP voters should handle the event in the increasingly likely event that no candidate arrives at the convention to with enough delegates to be named the nominee outright.
Fifty-one percent of respondents said the candidate with the highest number of delegates should be named the nominee without further meddling from the party elite. Thirty-four percent, meanwhile, said no clear winner heading into the convention should give delegates the opportunity to choose a nominee by voting for whoever they want.
And here is where things get a little trickier for GOP leaders increasingly hinting that the convention may be used to nominate someone who isn’t currently running for president: A paltry 4 percent of respondents to the Rasmussen poll said they feel comfortable with party leaders picking a nominee.
A separate poll, out Tuesday from Quinnipiac, gives the impression that a healthy number of respondents to the Rasmussen questions are Trump backers.
That’s because the polling data show that Trump supporters are by far the most likely group of voters to feel the people running the country, and its two major political parties, have set us all on the wrong path.
Ninety-one percent of Trump backers say they feel their “beliefs and values are under attack” by the government elite. And among 85 percent of Trump backers, there’s a firm belief that “America has lost its identity.”
In addition, 90 percent say they believe public officials “don’t care what people like me think.”
“Trump supporters are true standouts,” said Quinnipiac University Poll Director Dr. Douglas Schwartz. “They want a leader who is very different from the leader sought by other voters, explaining the mystery many see behind Trump’s support.”
Trump’s brazen political approach is so appealing to his supporters because 84 percent say they are looking for “a leader who is willing to say or do anything to solve America’s problems.”
And that should worry the GOP establishment because it could mean voters emboldened by Trump are also willing to go to great lengths to fix the problems they see in America today—maybe even through political revolt to dismantle a party that would betray them.

Trump Spells Out "Mexico To Pay For The Wall" Details

Trump Memo: Mexico Pays or I Cut Off Remittances

Donald Trump says he'll force Mexico to pay for a border wall by threatening to cut off  billions of dollars Mexican immigrants send home — a plan whose feasibility is unclear both legally and politically, and which would test the bounds of a president's executive powers to pressure another country, The Washington Post reports.

A two-page memo sent to the newspaper by the Republican presidential front-runner gives details of his key campaign promise to make Mexico pay for the 1,000-mile barrier between the United States and its key diplomatic ally to the south.

In his proposal, Trump threatens to change a rule under the Patriot Act anti-terrorism law to cut off money transfers sent to Mexico, and adds he'd withdraw the threat if Mexico makes "a one-time payment of $5 to $10 billion" to finance the wall, the Post reported.
Entitled "Compelling Mexico to Pay for the Wall," the memo is the latest attempt by the Republican presidential front-runner to offer more specifics about his proposal at a time when he faces tough head winds going into delegate rich states and the surging candidacy of rival Sen. Ted Cruz, along with the continued challenge from Ohio Gov. John Kasich.

It includes rationales for a number of potential intimidation tactics, including increased trade tariffs, the cancellation of visas, and higher fees for border-crossing cards.

But at the core of Trump's approach is a focus on the remittances of illegal immigrants, which he argues are crucial to Mexican economic stability and are a way of pressuring the country to disburse billions of dollars to the United States to fund construction of his wall.

Starting on "day 1," Trump writes, he would issue a warning to Mexico that unless it pays his desired amount, he will promulgate a new federal provision that would lead to a sweeping confiscation of funds sent by Mexicans in the United States who lack documentation of their "lawful presence."

On "day 2," Mexico "would immediately protest." But he would declare that Mexico must choose between the enforcement of his provision or acquiescing.
Latest News Update

To explain how he would have the standing to pursue his aggressive strategy, Trump cites a provision in the Code of Federal Regulations that sets the standards for financial institutions in identifying their customers.

That provision, Trump says, makes it possible for the executive branch to "issue detailed regulations on the subject." He predicts Mexico would react by initially balking, then doing what he wants.

Trump writes "if the Mexican government will contribute $__ billion to the United States to pay for the wall, the Trump administration will not promulgate the final rule, and the regulation will not go into effect."

Other aspects of Trump's plan include "trade tariffs, or enforcement of existing trade rules," "cancelling visas" and "visa fees."

"Our approvals of hundreds of thousands of visas every year is one of our greatest leverage points," Trump writes. "We also have leverage through business and tourist visas for important people in the Mexican economy."

Trump ends with a scathing critique of Mexico, claiming it has "taken advantage" of the United States for years through "gangs, drug traffickers and cartels" responsible for "the extraordinary daily cost of this criminal activity."

"We have the moral high ground here, and all the leverage," Trump concludes.

After reviewing Trump's proposal, one expert on immigration law tells the Post he's skeptical.

"Trump is giving an extremely broad definition of this section of the Patriot Act and what it allows, and it'd surely be litigated," Stuart Anderson, executive director of the National Foundation for American Policy, tells the Post.
"It would be a large expansion beyond what the text reads."

Anderson also said Trump's memo leaves unaddressed how normal financial transactions across borders would be affected and whether there would be an overly aggressive federal intrusion into the growing number of financial transactions that take place over the Internet.

Mexico's President Enrique Peña Nieto has said his country will not pay for any such wall.

Urgent: Rate Obama on His Job Performance. Vote Here Now!

Maybe This Is One Action That Obama Should Be Praised

CIA Planned to Take Out Assad in 2012, But Obama Refused

“The wicked are overthrown, and are not; but the house of the righteous shall stand.” Proverbs 12:7 (The Israel Bible™)
President Barack Obama stopped the CIA from carrying out a plan to overthrow Syrian President Bashar Assad’s government in 2012, a new book by a former CIA agent has revealed.
The CIA crafted a detailed, multi-stage plan to take out the dictator in the beginning years of the Syrian civil conflict, wrote former CIA operative Doug Laux, who spent a year meeting with Syrian rebels and intelligence officials in neighboring Gulf countries to prepare the operation and pass intelligence back to the CIA.

Laux, together with several other CIA agents, wrote and presented the plan to the Senate Intelligence Committee. It was eventually brought to Obama, who rejected it, confirmed a different former senior CIA official.
The White House and CIA leadership had made it clear that the goal of Laux’s task force was to remove Assad from office, but refused to actually okay a plan, said Laux, NBC News reported.
“We had come up with 50 good options to facilitate that. My ops plan laid them out in black and white. But political leadership…hadn’t given us the go-ahead to implement a single one,” Laux wrote.
The plan included supporting Syrian rebels as well as infiltrating Assad’s ranks, pressuring and bribing members of his regime to overthrow him.
At the same time, then-CIA Director David Petraeus was pushing for a large program to train and arm moderate Syrian rebels with the aim of decisively shifting the balance of power in the conflict. Obama eventually adopted a much smaller program which has not had much effect on the realities of the battlefield.
Today, Petraeus and other supporters of the more aggressive plan say that it could have prevented the rise of the Islamic State, Assad’s use of chemical weapons against his own people, and the ever-worsening European refugee crisis.
Republican Senator John McCain agreed, telling NBC News, “I’m confident we would be looking at a different Syria today if the president of the United States hadn’t overruled David Petraeus, head of the CIA, Hillary Clinton, secretary of state, and Leon Panetta, who was secretary of defense.”
Obama defended his actions by saying that a non-military attempt to “change the equation on the ground” in Syria would not have worked in any case.
However, Laux’s book paints a different picture. The US destroyed its credibility in the region, he wrote, by hesitating and by bluffing about the consequences of Assad’s actions, threatening military reprisals that never came.
Once it became clear that America would do little to halt the crisis, Hezbollah, Iran, and ISIS stepped in. Today, the Syrian “civil” war has become a bloody conflict ranging across the Middle East and even reaching Europe in the shape of refugees and militants hiding among them.
Laux, frustrated with the administration’s refusal to act, quit the CIA. While both the White House and CIA refused to comment on the contents of his book, which was heavily censored, the CIA’s spokesman released a statement which attacked Laux personally, saying, “Sadly, Mr. Laux’s career at CIA did not work out. We hope that someday, maybe with age and greater maturity, he will have better perspective on his time here.”
