Islamic State terrorists cheered the deaths of 14 people Wednesday at a social services center in San Bernardino, Calif., with the "#America_Burning" hashtag in Arabic on Twitter.
The hastag was also used on extremist web forums, Vocativ reports.
None of the Tweets or messages specifically linked ISIS terrorists to the shootings, The New York Daily News reports.
"Three lions made us proud," said one user in a Twitter post. "California streets are full with soldiers with heavy weapons.
"The Unites States is burning #America_Burning."
Another tweet quoted by Vocativ said: "Let America know a new era #California #America_burning."
"God is the greatest," a third tweet said. "May God spread fear in the homes of the Crusaders."
One of the suspects in the shooting was identified by NBC News and CNN as Syed Farook, an American citizen. He and a woman were later killed in a gunfire with police in nearby Redlands.
A man who told The New York Daily News that he was Farook's father said that his son was Muslim and "very religious."
