Planned Parenthood successfully has increased the number of abortions among Black Americans to a point that it represents nearly three times their proportion of the population at large. Is this purposeful or just lucky?
Herman Cain thinks it is a result of a plan written by Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood. We agree. However, we are sure there are a number of liberal pols and other liberals who would disagree. But the facts stand on their own. Why would the numbers be so out of line with the balance of the population?
We are glad that Mr. Cain has had the courage to talk about this. We would hope that others would find the guts to talk about this sensitive issue.

Cain Says ‘Planned Genocide’ -- CDC: Black Abortions 36.5%, Three Times Rate of Black Population in America
(CNSNews.com) – Republican presidential contender Herman Cain defended his claim that abortion-provider Planned Parenthood is “planned genocide,” emphasizing that the business disproportionately locates its facilities in black neighborhoods and that its founder wanted to prevent "black babies from being born." That claim, in terms of abortion rates among blacks, seems to be indirectly confirmed by data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
According to the CDC’s abortion surveillance data from 2007 -- the latest analysis available and published in February 2011 -- there were 827,609 abortions that year and black women accounted for 36.5 percent of those abortions (or 302,077 abortions).
Blacks, however, comprise only 12.6 percent of the U.S. population, which means the abortion rate is nearly three times that of the black population. The CDC reported, “Black women had higher abortion rates and ratios than white women and women of other races.”
Cain, who is campaigning to win the GOP presidential nomination, first described Planned Parenthood as “planned genocide” in response to a CNSNews.com question concerning Planned Parenthood funding back in March of this year. On Sunday’s Meet the Press, Cain reasserted his position when asked by host Bob Schieffer, “You still stand by that?”
“I still stand by that,” said Cain, who then told Schieffer to look at the history of Planned Parenthood and its founder Margaret Sanger and to also examine where Planned Parenthood operations are located, “look at where most of them are built.”
“Seventy-five percent of those facilities were built in the black community,” said Cain. “In Margaret Sanger`s own words -- she didn`t use the word genocide -- but she did talk about preventing the increasing number of poor blacks in this country by preventing black babies from being born.”
For Hispanics, the Census Bureau shows that they comprise 16.2 percent of the U.S. population. The data from the CDC reveal that Hispanic abortions equaled 21.2 percent of all abortions in America in 2007 (which translates into a rate of 22.2 abortions per 1,000 Hispanic women).
Hispanics, therefore, have an abortion rate that is almost one-third (31 percent) the rate of Hispanics in the nation’s population.
Dr. Alveda King, a niece of the late Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and a pro-life advocate, told the National Catholic Register in 2007, “Margaret Sanger had a eugenics program, and she wanted to eliminate certain elements of the population. One of Sanger’s targeted groups was black people [Google “The Negro Project”]. She sent secret messages about wanting to eliminate blacks, saying that if we can get their leaders to support us then we can get in there and do this. You can find research on this at BlackGenocide.org.”
