Phil Robertson Is A Class Guy Whose Rights Have Been Violated. He Is Not Falling For Haters!

‘Duck Dynasty’ Star Addresses ‘Hate’ Scandal By Praying For Cancer Victim

So much for all that hate and bigotry. Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson brushed aside accusations of racism and homophobia by attending his local church and praying for a woman suffering from cancer. His church visit came the night after A&E suspended him for declaring in a GQ interview that he disagreed with homosexuality because it’s a sin. But despite his family’s $80 million business empire being put in jeopardy, he decided to focus on others who are less fortunate.
TMZ reports that Robertson visited White’s Ferry Road Churchand remained in the pews with everyone else to pray for the woman diagnosed with cancer. Pastor Mike Kellett said the scandal wasn’t mentioned once during the visit and denied that Robertson is homophobic. “Phil is doing his best to follow God’s word,” he said. “He always treats people with love and respect.”
In the GQ interview, Robertson said he didn’t understand the homosexual lifestyle and said that he would let God “sort ‘em out” on judgment day. “It seems like, to me, a vagina — as a man — would be more desirable than a man’s anus. That’s just me,” said Phil. “I’m just thinking: ‘There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes!’ You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.”
His family has stood by him in the aftermath of his comments and have threatened to leave the show unless he is included in future episodes. “While some of Phil’s unfiltered comments to the reporter were coarse, his beliefs are grounded in the teachings of the Bible. Phil would never incite or encourage hate,” read a statement from his family on the Duck Commander website. “We are disappointed that Phil has been placed on hiatus for expressing his faith, which is his constitutionally protected right. We have had a successful working relationship with A&E but, as a family, we cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm. We are in discussions with A&E to see what that means for the future of Duck Dynasty.”
