‘Level 2 Lookalike Firearm’ The Latest Invention Of Reefer Madness-Style Anti-Gun Push
American educators are on the lookout for a new and growing danger to America’s schoolchildren: “Level 2 lookalike firearms.” That’s bureaucratic-educator speak for a finger.
According to The Columbus Dispatch, a fifth-grade student at Devonshire Alternative Elementary in Columbus, Ohio, was suspended from school for three days last week for allegedly fashioning his thumb and index finger into a firearm shape and pretending to shoot at another student.
“I was just playing around,” 10-year-old Nathan Entingh told the paper. “People play around like this a lot at my school.”
Principal Patricia Price said that the student’s harsh punishment was warranted because administrators had repeatedly warned students against engaging in such play.
Another administrator accused the youngster of pointing his finger at another child and pretending to shoot “kind of execution style,” according to the report.
Nathan’s father, on the other hand, believes that the administration acted with a complete disregard for common sense, especially considering that other children were taking part in the imaginary gun play.
“He said he was playing,” Paul Entingh said. “It would even make more sense maybe if he brought a plastic gun that looked like a real gun or something, but it was his finger.”
This is one of the latest examples of a national effort to encourage children to fear and dislike anything related to firearms during their earliest years in the public education system.
Last February, we relayed examples of school officials throwing common sense out the window to punish children for everything from gun-shaped bite marks in a waffle to playing cops and robbers.
Aside from making educators look like idiots, America’s jittery anti-gun crowd has also created tragic consequences for at least one youth playing with a toy gun in the past year.
In October, Police in Northern California shot 13-year-old Andy Lopez to death after spotting the youngster walking through a residential area with a toy rifle reportedly resembling an AK-47. The deputies said that they ordered the boy to drop the toy firearm; and when he didn’t,the officers opened fire.
Anti-2nd Amendment groups are taking a note from the propagandists who told Americans that a single drag from a joint of marijuana had the potential to turn a civil person into raving, raping lunatic via efforts like the 1936 film “Reefer Madness.” The message for the Nation’s schoolchildren today: Even the mention of the word “gun” cannot be allowed because — besides police and other agents of the state — only bad people with bad intentions use firearms.
