Man’s Perfect Response to Woman Who Called Disney “Racist” for Having All White Princesses
A woman who made an uniformed comment on a Tumblr account about the whiteness of Disney’s princess characters elicited a strong response from the man who posted the picture to which she was responding.
The picture included images of Elsa and Anna from “Frozen,” Merida from “Brave,” and Rapunzel from “Tangled,” along with the caption, “Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter represented by the princesses (and a Queen).”
Not really our cup of tea, but harmless enough.
“Are you sure they don’t all represent winter because everything looks pretty white,” was one response to the post, according to Mad World News.
The response of the original poster was epic:
He left out Mulan, who was Chinese, and included Esmerelda, who is not actually technically an official Disney princess — but then again, neither is Anna.
The fact is, of the 11 official Disney princesses, four of them, or just over a third, are non-white.
That might not be in strict keeping with the actual demographics of the globe, which would require that 60 percent of the princesses be Asian, for example, but it’s not bad.
Considering that this argument is about a doll for children.
