From Conservative Tribune:
BREAKING: Ted Cruz Issues Challenge to New Attorney General… And It’s Giving Obama Fits
Sens. Ted Cruz and Mike Lee issued a strong challenge to President Barack Obama’s nominee to become the next Attorney General of the United States. They want his nominee to denounce any plans by the president to pursue amnesty by executive action.
The pair of Senators are Tea Party stalwarts who came to power in the 2012 and 2010 elections, respectively.
The president nominated Loretta Lynch, who is currently the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York. She is viewed as a relatively less polarizing choice than some other potential contenders to replace the despicable Attorney General Eric Holder and become the new leader for the Department of Justice. Holder plans to remain in his post until his successor is confirmed.
In Obama’s nomination speech, he praised her commitment to “fairness, equality, and justice.” It remains to be seen where she will stand on Obama’s planned amnesty by executive action.
Conservative Tribune has reported extensively on Obama’s dangerous, harmful, andunconstitutional scheming to offer amnesty to illegal aliens through executive action.
Republican Senators such as Mitch McConnell and Jeff Sessions joined the chorus, according to our friends at Breitbart.
“As attorney general, Eric Holder too often put political and ideological commitments ahead of the rule of law,” McConnell said. “That’s not something the American people expect in the nation’s highest law-enforcement official, and it’s something Mr. Holder’s replacement should commit to avoiding at all costs as a condition of his or her confirmation — whether it relates to the President’s acting unilaterally on immigration or anything else.”
Sen. Rand Paul concurred, saying, “I think the attorney general should, whoever the nominee is, acknowledge that they will operate independent of politics, independent of the president and under the direction of the Constitution,” Paul said. “The Constitution really doesn’t allow the president to legislate. It’s a host of issues; I wouldn’t limit it to just immigration.”
