EXPOSED: Obama Caught Red-Handed in Massive ISIS Cover-Up
As recently as last month, Secretary of State John Kerry, under Obama’s watch, issued a public statement claiming that a significant portion of the Islamic State group’s leadership had been killed via airstrikes.
But according to U.S. military experts and intelligence analysts — that’s far from true. Though, it sounds good in a press conference when you’re attempting to make it sound like progress is being made.
Although a handful of mid-level battlefield commanders for the Islamic State have been killed, according to groups who track communications from the terrorist group, there hasn’t been even a single verified report of ahigh-ranking Islamic State leader being killed — let alone “fifty percent,” as Sec. Kerry stated last month.
The two governing bodies who assist Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi make decisions, the Shura and Sharia councils, haven’t lost any significant commanders whatsoever.
Sec. Kerry said last month at a conference in Munich, “We’ve disrupted their command structure, undermined its propaganda, taken out half of their senior leadership, squeezed its financing, damaged its supply networks, dispersed its personnel, and forced them to think twice before they move in an open convoy.”
Retired General John Allen issued a similar statement, with the same figure of fifty percent.
Neither men have reiterated the claim since then.
Cole Bunzel, a Princeton University scholar of Near Eastern Studies and an expert on the Islamic State, said of the claim, “I am very skeptical of the claim that the coalition has killed 50 percent of the leadership of the Islamic State, whatever that means.”
Bunzel added, “The Islamic State has publicly announced when senior members of the group have been killed. But they have never talked about anyone in the core leadership being killed since 2010.”
As a matter of fact, last week Kerry took a cautious approach at a Senate hearing where he admitted that the Islamic State group is rapidly gaining supporters and that attacks were continuing to take place.
As Bloomberg View pointed out, if Obama had followed through and actually gotten involved in the fight in Syria, there could have been a much larger dent in the Islamic State group’s ranks.
But hey, that golf club isn’t going to swing itself, now is it?
