The NBC News/Wall Street Journal pollreleased Sunday morning found Clinton with 42 percent support nationally, compared to Sanders’s 35 percent.
Poll: Clinton leading Sanders by just 7 points

Hillary Clinton’s lead over Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders (I) is now just 7 points among Democratic primary voters, according to a new poll.

If Vice President Joe Biden does not run, pollsters found, Clinton’s lead over Sanders rises to 15 points. Biden had 17 percent support in the survey.
Clinton held a 34-point lead over Sanders in July, and a 60-point lead in June.
On the Republican side, Donald Trump and Ben Carson are atop the GOP field with 21 percent and 20 percent support from Republican primary voters, respectively.
Florida Sen. Marco Rubio is tied for third place with Carly Fiorina, with 11 percent apiece.
The poll, conducted Sept. 20-24, has a 6.1 percent margin of error for Democratic primary voters. Its margin of error for Republican voters is 6.5 percent.
