Felon Pulls BB Gun--Gets His Dues

From Right To Bear Blog:

Cop Kneecaps Teen – Here’s Why No One’s Complaining

19225833_sPolice have been in the news more than ever for shooting individuals while engaged in active pursuits.
Most of the time after the police shoot their target people are quick to throw their arms up in the air and say the shoot wasn’t justified and police need to keep their itchy fingers off the trigger.
The reason why no one’s saying anything about this shooting is because a young, dumb teenager thought it would be a good idea to point a BB gun at a police officer and was shot directly in the kneecap as a result.

The incident began about 6:45 p.m. when police were called to respond to the area of Second and N. King streets for a gun complaint. Arriving officers saw the suspect at Second and N. West streets, and tried to stop him.
But when he did, Wilmington police Sgt. Andrea Janvier said the suspect ran on foot.
In an updated release, Janvier said officers caught up to the suspect in the 400 block of W. Third St., where he tripped and fell to the ground.
The suspect then got to his feet, pulled a weapon from his waistband and pointed it at one of the officers, Janvier said.
The 10-year veteran fired his department-issued handgun, striking the suspect in the right knee, she said.
“The officer’s partner, a six-year veteran of the force, was then able to take the suspect to the ground and place him into custody and recover the weapon,” she said. “The weapon was found to be a black in color replica handgun.”
Many bystanders in the area Thursday said they heard one gunshot.
The teen was treated by New Castle County paramedics and transported to Christiana Hospital in good condition.
The teen faces charges of aggravated menacing and resisting arrest, Janvier said.
Now you have to wonder if the officer meant to shoot him in the knee or not. Most officers aren’t trained to shoot people in the extremities, even though people who complain about police shootings often wish they would…
So it remains unclear why that was where he shot the suspect.
Regardless, his choice to discharge the weapon as a result of what he believed to be a clear threat to his life was 100% justified. And you’re not going to hear anyone complaining about some idiotic teenager getting kneecapped because he thought it’d be a good idea to threaten an officer.
Well at least you shouldn’t.
But considering how loco this world is that might actually change.
What do you think about this shoot? Good or bad?
