Irresponsible Leaders Blame An Instrument Rather Than Their Leadership Or Better Said, Their Lack Of Leadership

Congressional Black Caucus blames GOP, guns for cop slayings

Following the president’s lead, Democrats are using the tragedy in Dallas to intensify their push for new gun control legislation in the United States.
The Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) his situated itself at the forefront of that push, announcing Friday that its members plan to meet with top FBI officials and the Attorney General to discuss how the Justice Department could help lessen tension between black Americans and police.
The CBC also said members will introduce a police reform bill and lobby for a vote on “no fly, no buy” gun control legislation.
Rep. GK Butterfield (D-N.C.), chairman of the CBC, described the Dallas shooting as a terror attack.
“If someone goes in a building and assassinates five police officers, they are a terrorist by any definition. They are a terrorist, and they are not part of the Black Lives Matter movement. What their motivations were, the criminal justice system and law enforcement will figure that out,” he said.
But, rather remarkably, the CBC head also suggested that GOP lawmakers are somehow to blame for the shooting.
“The Republicans in Congress are refusing to address gun violence in America that targets black men and black women and Hispanic men and Hispanic women and, yes, even police officers,” Butterfield said.
Fellow CBC member Rep. Cedric Richmond (D-LA) suggested that GOP members are racist for not pursuing gun control.
“When we look at this Congress, we can do nothing but conclude that they are co-conspirators in the devaluation of the lives of men and women of color,” he said.
