78 Year Old Stops Robbers

From Right To Bear Blog:

Gang of Punks Learn “Not To Mess With Grandma”

Everybody knows that punk criminals tend to target those viewed as the weakest and most vulnerable in society, particularly the elderly.
But thanks to the Second Amendment-protected natural right to keep and bear arms we enjoy in America, the elderly are not always as weak and vulnerable as one might presume, a lesson recently learned by a pair of would-be burglars in Georgia.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, 78-year-old Elaine Stiehl was preparing to lie down for a nap when she heard strange noises coming from the front of her home.
Stiehl retrieved a handgun and proceeded to investigate the disturbance, at which point she discovered two strange men standing in the hallway.
Without grandma even having to fire a shot, the two would-be burglars turned tail and quickly fled the home, escaping to a waiting SUV being driven by a woman, which immediately sped away from the scene.
However, the vehicle was soon spotted traveling north on I-85 and was stopped by the police. Inside the vehicle were discovered two guns, one of which was stolen, a number of power tools and even some fur coats.
The two men, 44-year-old Thomas Allen Linder and 32-year-old John Michael O’Neal, were both charged with burglary. Linder was charged with possession of a weapon by a felon and O’Neal was hit with a charge for theft by receiving stolen property.
The female driver of the SUV, 49-year-old Anne Renee Dearman, was also charged with burglary for her role as the getaway driver.
All three are now being held in the Coweta County jail, according to Coweta County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Lt. Col. James Yarbrough.
This is a perfect example of why we fight so hard to protect and defend the Second Amendment, as the right to keep and bear arms it recognizes allows elderly individuals like this 78-year-old grandma to level the playing fieldwhen confronted by criminals roughly half her age and likely much stronger and quicker than she was.
