Donald Trump awarded a Purple Heart to an Army sergeant Saturday
who was wounded in Afghanistan.

Military Medical Center with First Lady Melania Trump. It was there he gave
Sgt. First Class Alvaro Barrientos the award.
Barrientos’s right leg was amputated below the knee after he was injured
in March.
“When I heard about this, I wanted to do it myself,” Trump said.
