Michigan Is Ruled By A Tyrant

More than 200k Michiganders sign petition to remove governor: ‘She’s a tyrant attacking America.’

MICHIGAN– Michigan citizens have had enough. This began long before the COVID-19 pandemic and the state’s horrific handling and politicization of the outbreak.
Citizens of Michigan have strongly banded together through a petition hosted by change.org to remove Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
Thomas D. Williams, Ph.D. of Brietbart, reported that the primary concern is her alleged “gross negligence and failures in handling the coronavirus pandemic.”
The “Recall Governor Whitmer” petition cites closing or banning several non-essential businesses while leaving others open – this was recently referenced by Law Enforcement Today as we pointed out that running to the store for lottery tickets or to the clinic for an abortion is all good, but doing lawn work that requires the purchase of seeds or fishing if your boat uses a motor isn’t.
The petition (link here) mentions closing some business while leaving others open that are actually furthering the impact of the pandemic.

The petition was started several weeks ago by Michigan citizen John Powell and has seen an explosion of participation after the governor’s new rules dropped in action where citizens could be fined up to $1,000 for violating stay-at-home orders.  Unless you’re buying lottery tickets or getting an abortion.
Just yesterday, the petition picked up an additional 50,000 signatures, moving the total participation to more than 200,000 citizens.
An additional and related area of concern is that Governor Whitmer is ignoring her own state’s needs while trying to gain favor of Democratic Presidential candidate former Vice President Joe Biden.  Rumors have been floating that VP Biden is considering Whitmer as his Vice-Presidential running mate.
Biden brought Whitmer onto his podcast on April 6, in which he praised her for the job she is doing in Michigan:
“Gov. Whitmer is an outstanding governor. She is one of the most talented people in the country in my view. She also is a supporter. She was also a co-chair of my campaign. She’s a good friend, but she has been laser focused, laser focused on delivering for her state.”
In an article form last week, I pointed out that Governor Whitmer claimed that the federal government isn’t – or wasn’t – helping the people of Michigan during the pandemic. Not only was that a false statement, but she wouldn’t let anyone verify the assistance through formal channels.

Governor Whitmer claimed that she’d tried to call President Trump, but he wouldn’t take her call – turns out, he was in a live media interview at that moment.  She used that scheduling issue and failed attempt to trash the president over the next few days.
Last week, Gov. Whitmer said in a radio interview that “medical supply vendors informed her they’ve been told ‘not to send stuff’ to her state amid the battle against COVID-19.”
She told WWJ in Detroit:
“When the federal government told us that we needed to go it ourselves [on medical supplies], we started procuring every item we could get our hands on.
But what I’ve gotten back is that vendors with whom we had contracts are now being told not to send stuff here to Michigan.”
It was pointed out over the next couple of days that the governor’s request was approved and masks and other items were shipped, but not before the Michigan governor used the opportunity to politicize the issue and call out the president on an issue that was verified to be false.

Murdered officer's grave desecrated before headstone even placed

Michigan’s governor and her stay-at-home modifications to address COVID-19 have now gone too far.
Stores that are allowed to operate under the present circumstances are actually barred from selling certain items deemed “not essential.”  And that list is mind-blowing.

For example, Home Depot isn’t allowed to sell paint in the store. Also, their flooring sections and garden sections have been closed off too.
A Lansing resident, Brian Tillery, ventured into his local Home Depot on April 10th and noticed signage and caution tape prohibiting people from picking up paint. This was a forced move due to Gretchen Whitmer’s updated stay-at-home order that states:
“Individuals may leave the home or place of residence to purchase groceries, take-out food, gasoline, needed medical supplies, and any other products necessary to maintain the safety, sanitation, and basic operation of their residences.”
You know what’s scariest in that language? The fact that it says “individuals may leave their home.”

How did we go from “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” in 1776, to “individuals may leave their home” in 2020? Furthermore, how does someone grabbing a can of paint in a store already open to the public somehow create more risk?
Brian Tillery has been hurting for cash lately, since his job was deemed unessential in Michigan. He worked as a floor layer, and has been desperate to find people willing to hire him for handyman jobs.
Not everyone has the luxury of feeling self-righteous with a “stay home, save lives” banner on their social media accounts. Staying home for those living week-to-week won’t put food on the table or pay the electricity bill.
Tillery had landed a local side job of repairing someone’s roof after a tree had crashed through it. He was just about done with the repair, and the last touch left was adding some paint. Now, that job has gone unfinished:
“I just don’t understand. You can put up drywall, but you just can’t paint it right now because that’s not essential.”
Governor Whitmer’s order does more than just shut down certain sections of large retailers. The order is now even affecting the manner in which stores can advertise their products:
“By April 13, 2020, refrain from the advertising or promotion of goods that are not groceries, medical supplies, or items that are necessary to maintain the safety, sanitation, and basic operation of residences.”

That has to be one of the most ridiculous portions of the governor’s executive order.
Basically, Walmart can tell you that tuna fish is on sale this week, but they can’t inform folks that a particular movie or television is at a reduced price.
Through her executive order, she claimed that employees of hotels and motels can still go to work. Here’s the catch though: Those hotels and motels can only stay open if they don’t have the following:
“In-house amenities such as gyms, pools, spas, dining, entertainment facilities, meeting rooms, or like facilities.”
Can anyone think of a single motel or hotel that doesn’t have one of the aforementioned? Even the most dilapidated of Motel 6’s iterations have some crummy looking pool.
Also, if you happen to own two homes in Michigan, you’re no longer allowed to travel back and forth between the two. You’re literally no longer allowed to utilized your own property. When making reference to in-state travel, the order states:

“Travel between two residences is not permitted.”
The irony in the updated order by the governor is that it opens with the following note:
“This order must be construed broadly to prohibit in-person work that is not necessary to sustain or protect life.”
There’s more to life than just physical well-being.
There’s emotional health, mental health, and basic freedoms that we should be able to enjoy as Americans. For the love of everything sensical, let people in Michigan buy some paint and flowers.
