We Would Take Candy Carson, A Real Woman, Over The Current American Hating First "Lady"

A Cruel ‘Joke’ About Mrs. Carson is Making the Rounds… And Not Everyone is Laughing

A meme has made the rounds on social media this week comparing First Lady Michelle Obama to Candy Carson, wife of Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson.
The meme is a riff on the DirecTV commercials in which the company lambastes cable as inferior to satellite tv.
Similar comparisons between Obama and Carson have popped up all over social media
Demetria Lucas D’Oyley of The Root, a website dedicated to African American news, penned a piece about the meme, in which she disapproves of the attacks on Candy Carson’s appearance, then goes on to criticize Candy Carson’s appearance.
D’Oyley writes:
“I’m no fan of presidential candidate Ben Carson…but he asked to be dissected in the media, traditional and social, when he announced his bid for the presidency. Candy Carson did not.”
D’Oyley notes that the cruelty toward Ms. Carson is similar to whenMichelle Obama was castigated for her alleged lack of patriotism when in early 2008, she said she was proud of her country for the first time in her life.
D’Oyley writes that she was proud of Obama for appearing on “Good Morning America” to defend Michelle after the incident.
Following her defense of Candy Carson and Michelle Obama, D’Oyley proceeded to dissect Carson’s appearance:
“…sympathizers of Candy Carson have excused her appearance as a result of her religious beliefs…religion and modesty are not synonymous with ill-fitting and unflattering and out-of-date…let’s stop pretending that appearance never matters, when there are times that it absolutely does.”
D’Oyley speculates that there are “underpinnings” of racism and sexism in these attacks, but adds that Ms. Carson could use a “glam squad.”
The comments section was diverse, with some defending Ms. Carson, and some swiping her for her wardrobe. Some even attacked D’Oyley.
Commenter Peg Meredith praised Mrs. Carson:
“I consider Candy Carson a beautiful person, inside and out. What’s in your heart and what’s in your closet are two totally different things.”
Angel Frederick attacked D’Oyley:
“You are no better than those you speak about. You wrote this article to put her down as well under the pretense that you are appalled by others.”
Brian Roussel took a jab at Ms. Carson:
“I’m sorry, but Dr. Carson’s wife is dressed as though the fanciest place she is going to is the local Target.”
Candy Carson’s appearance hasn’t hurt her husband’s campaign, nor has it made a dent in the popularity of the book she and her husband co-authored.
A More Perfect Union is currently ranked #2 on the New York Times non-fiction Best Sellers list.

Candy Carson, Ben's Wonderful Wife, Is A Real Doll!

BOOM. BEN CARSON’S WIFE’S POWERFUL WORDS PROVE SHE’S NOTHING LIKE MICHELLE

While her husband makes the rounds on all the talk show circuits Candy Carson sits back quietly and watches.
You might not have heard much about Candy Carson, but if you’ve read Ben Carson’s new book then you’ve at least read what she thinks as she co-authored the book with him.
And unlike Michelle Obama she’s convinced more government is not the path to a better country.
Real Clear Politics writes:
The daughter of a teacher and a factory worker, Candy Carson grew up poor in inner-city Detroit with four siblings. She earned a scholarship to attend Yale University, where she met her future husband and fellow Detroit native. Mrs. Carson triple-majored in music, psychology and pre-med. She played violin for the Yale Symphony and Bach Society. Just as her church-organist mother insisted that all her children learn to play instruments, Mrs. Carson formed a string quartet (two violins, cello and viola) with her own three sons dubbed the “Carson Four.”
Feminists loved Mrs. Obama’s relentless jokes openly denigrating her spouse’s shortcomings as a husband and father on the campaign trail. Victory did not improve her dour disposition. Even after moving into the White House and enjoying multiple taxpayer-financed vacations around the world, President Obama’s bitter half bizarrely lamented her plight as a “busy single mother.”
So. Put. Upon.
By contrast, Mrs. Carson revels in her role as family matriarch and life partner in her husband’s endeavors. “The calling of a neurosurgeon isn’t easy to live out, and Ben has been required to go above and beyond the call of duty many times,” she writes in her upcoming memoir, “A Doctor in the House.” “The life of a neurosurgeon’s wife isn’t much easier. But it’s all been worth it. Together, we’ve been through poverty, tragedy, wealth, and joy, and I’ve come to love Ben more as each year has passed.”
And also unlike Michelle is Candy’s soft demeanor and her controlled tone.

What do you think, is this the kind of woman you want as your future first lady?
She holds no political ambition, doesn’t want to tell you how to live your life, and only wants to curb the government’s influence in your life.
What’s not to like?
