For someone who does not believe in the Bible, Obama cynically quotes Scripture when he thinks it will win him points. It is a so transparent (probably the only thing transparent in his administration) attempt to tell the religious that he is doing the right thing. However, it stinks to high heaven.
The phrase he quoted does not mean that law breakers, criminals and sex offenders should be welcomed as "visitors" or strangers. Yes, the Israelites were strangers in a strange land, however, they did not break laws to go there as the illegal aliens have.
On the other hand, legal immigrants have been welcomed as long as they obeyed the laws, integrated with the wider society and became "Americans." Traits that for some reason in the past thirty years have not been a requirement nor a goal of those coming here.
These latest immigrants are all seeking what America can give them and not what they can give America. It is a different focus and one which will in the end, destroy the country.
Obama's attempt to equate Israelites in Egypt is not even close to what we are faced here in the US. Remember, the Jews were slaves, not so for the illegal immigrants. The Jews moved to Egypt legally, not so for many illegal immigrants. And lastly, the Jews wanted to leave, we would hope the same would happen with the illegals, however, it appears that Obama's gambit will only encourage more to come here.
The President's speech was cynical at best and meant to put another nail in the coffin of America. His continuing attempts to "fundamentally change America" is making quick progress and no one seems to be able to stop him.
What is next? Who knows, however, it will not be good for America, that is guaranteed.

Huckabee Slams Obama's Use of Scripture in Amnesty Speech

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee blasted President Barack Obama for citing the Bible in his immigration speech Thursday, suggesting that his use of Scripture was little more than a cynical attempt to advance his political agenda.
Toward the end of his speech, Obama declared that "Scripture tells us, we shall not oppress a stranger, for we know the heart of a stranger."
"We were once strangers, too," he added.
Huckabee responded on his Facebook page that "it is interesting that Obama cites Scripture as the justification for him taking unilateral action on illegal immigrants" before taking a decidedly sarcastic tone, Mediaite noted.
"Funny how, for the first six years of his administration, even the two years when he had unstoppable majorities in both houses, Scripture did not compel immediate action. But two weeks after the final election he’ll have to deal with, suddenly, Scripture requires us to do this," the Fox News host and possible 2016 presidential candidate wrote.
Huckabee likened Obama’s push on immigration to his handling of homosexual marriage, adding that "his Biblical beliefs led him to oppose same-sex marriage as a candidate for election. Then, when he needed big donations from gay liberals for his re-election, the Bible suddenly got rewritten."
