Fox News host Jesse Watters panned the budget signed by President Trump Friday and said that he didn’t believe the president’s promise to never sign such a bill again.

Here’s the video of his comments:

Here’s what he said:

“Well I know one thing,” Watters said, “Mexico’s not going to pay for the wall, and neither are we. Because it says there’s gonna be only 1.6 billion for the wall and you can’t even use the new concrete wall prototypes that he just surveyed.”

“And it’s only supposed to be for 93 miles, the border is 3,000 miles,” he added. “And the only fencing that is gonna be done is backup fencing and repairs.”

“This was a huge defeat for the president on a signature issue,” Watters continued, “it’s really really bad, there’s no way to spin it. I know he wanted more money for the military and that’s incredibly important but he sacrificed everything else to get it.”

“And I hate to do this, I hate to quote Rand Paul, but Rand Paul said something,” he added after an interruption, “well only for this instance, he said there’s an unholy alliance between Republicans and Democrats in Congress.”

“The Republicans want to spend like crazy on the military,” he said, “and the Democrats say, ‘OK we’ll give you the military spending, if we can spend whatever we want on domestic spending, and they get together and they just run deficits.”

“But the border is a mess, and crying [Senator] Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) gets all the money he wants for a tunnel from New Jersey to New York and there’s no border wall funding?” he asked. “I saw some of this other pork, I mean Planned Parenthood a half a billion dollars, the John F. Kennedy Center is getting forty million? Stuff that is, they wanted to cut the budget for the EPA, the EPA budget is at a historic high!

“It’s really insulting. And he says it’s never gonna happen again?” he continued. “I don’t see how he’s going to change the dynamic in Congress to have this never happen again. Democrats are never gonna work for border wall funding and Republicans aren’t gonna go to the mattresses for it.”

“Maybe he should have his rich billionaire friends pony up, maybe they can privatize it!” he concluded.

The president signed the budget after initially saying he was thinking about vetoing it Friday. Trump allies Laura Ingraham and Ann Coulter said Trump would be impeached after losing the House of Representatives to Democrats in the midterms because of the budget he signed.

Fox News Channel host Jesse Watters hit the beach for Memorial Day weekend to quiz young people about the meaning of Memorial Day and past military conflicts involving the United States. The answers were both hilarious and horrifying.

“This weekend, we celebrate Memorial Day, a day for remembering America’s fallen soldiers,” Watters said during a Saturday evening episode of FNC’s “Watters’ World.” “But how much do Americans really know about the history of that sacrifice? I have to warn you: It is shameful.”

There are plenty of “shameful” answers to Watters’ questions to choose from, but several worth highlighting came in response to Watters’ simple question about the Revolutionary War.

“Who did America fight in the Revolutionary War?” asked Watters to several beachgoers.

“The French,” responded one woman.

“That’s a good question,” said one man. “I don’t know.”

“China,” answered another young woman.

“North versus South,” responded one particularly confident-sounding man. “The Confederate versus the Union.”

Watters also asked people to name the victor of the U.S. Civil War.

“Britain,” replied one woman.

“America and Britain and Spain, some part of Spain, and uh, uh yeah,” said another young woman.

As funny and disturbing as the answers were to Watters’ questions, the results shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. Numerous studies and surveys have shown Americans know very little about their own history and even less about world history.

As a writer for the Smithsonian Institution noted in a 2015 article, in 2008, the Intercollegiate Studies Institute surveyed more than 2,500 people and found only about 50 percent could properly name the three branches of government (executive, judicial, and legislative). Similarly, the National Assessment of Educational Progress, commonly referred to as “the Nation’s Report Card,” found in 2014—the most recent test data available—only 21 percent of male students in the eighth grade and 16 percent of female eighth-grade students scored “proficient” or higher in NAEP’s U.S. history assessment.

Americans’ poor understanding of history is nothing short of pathetic, but as the nation celebrates Memorial Day, it seems more than just a little funny and sad; it’s also, as Watters stated in the introduction of his segment, “shameful.”

Fox News host Jesse Watters recently confronted a St. Joseph University professor who said in class that his students shouldn’t open their hearts to white Trump supporters and that people will die directly because of President Donald Trump.

Prior to confronting the professor, David Parry who also serves as the school’s communication’s chair, Watters caught up with St. Joseph students.

“I think it’s pretty stupid [what the professor said] and it doesn’t make much sense,” one student told Watters.

“I just like think that that is not appropriate,” said another.

Another student, who told Watters that Parry is her academic adviser, was left speechless.

“No longer is there real education taking place, the teachers are using their students and their lessons as a means to forward their political agenda,” said another.

Then came the moment when Watters confronted Parry — who immediately ducked his head and tried to walk away from Watters, refusing to answer any of his questions.

However, Watters was persistent, continually asking the professor why he is “indoctrinating” his students and using his classroom as a political platform, but the professor still refused to answer any questions or even say one word.

It’s not clear if Parry will be reprimanded by St. Joesph’s for his inappropriate comments.
