Has Target Gone Too Far This Time?

Boycott-Target-AFA
Nearly 1 million Americans have pledged to boycott Target after the popular retailer announced it would allow men to use women’s restrooms and fitting rooms, and vice versa, if the facilities correspond with the customers’ gender identity.
Target-boycottA day after Target declared it “welcomes transgender team members and guests to use the restroom or fitting room facility that corresponds with their gender identity,” the American Family Association called for a boycott of Target and created an online pledge in which signees could promise to shop elsewhere. One week after the pledge was created, it had more than 924,000 signatures.
AFA claims Target is putting the safety of women and children at risk.
“This means a man can simply say he ‘feels like a woman today’ and enter the women’s restroom … even if young girls or women are already in there,” the AFA pledge states. “Target’s policy is exactly how sexual predators get access to their victims. And with Target publicly boasting that men can enter women’s bathrooms, where do you think predators are going to go?”

As WND reported Wednesday, two reporters from James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas went undercover as sexual predators at a school in North Carolina, which recently adopted a state law requiring men to use restrooms for men and women to use women’s rooms. The investigation captured on video a school diversity official declaring she didn’t think it was wrong for a woman to use a men’s room because it was a “turn-on.”
See the conversations captured on video:
Award-winning journalist and WND Managing Editor David Kupelian noted that only a few years ago, virtually everybody in the world would have agreed it’s “stark, raving mad” to allow grown men to use a women’s restroom or locker room.
“Today, it is still stark, raving mad,” he said. “But the lesbian-gay-bisexual-transgender movement, fueled by its success in imposing same-sex marriage on America, is now trying to force middle America to pretend that a serious mental illness, one that frequently involves amputating healthy body parts in a desperate but impossible quest to morph into the opposite sex, is perfectly normal and we must all join in the pretense or be demonized or legally prosecuted.
“So now they’re getting some real push-back. That is a very good thing.”
In his most recent book, “The Snapping of the American Mind,” Kupelian wrote about gender identity disorder – the strong feelings of belonging to the opposite sex that drive some people to try and physically change their genders. This erstwhile disorder was recently renamed “gender dysphoria” in an effort to de-pathologize it, according to Kupelian. So today being transgender is considered completely normal while those who don’t accept the normality of transgenderism are often labeled “transphobic,” which suggests someone has a disorder, or phobia.
But Kupelian believes his fellow countrymen see through the pro-transgender propaganda.
“Most Americans recognize the ‘transgender movement’ for what it is – a deeply misguided campaign to normalize mental illness and to force all Americans to abandon their common sense and core values and affirm and celebrate what is really pathological delusion,” he said.
“Remember: It is literally impossible to change your gender. Every one of the trillions of cells in your body is permanently branded male or female from birth and cannot be changed.”
Paul Kengor, a college professor and author of “Takedown: From Communists to Progressives, How the Left Has Sabotaged Family and Marriage,” said it’s good to see ordinary Americans pushing back against the LGBT agenda by pledging to boycott Target. After all, Kengor pointed out, boycotts are a favored method of the “nature redefiners” – cultural leftists who wish to fundamentally transform sexuality and gender by bullying those who oppose their agenda.
“I would caution those fighting back to not give up,” Kengor told WND. “They need to understand that the nature redefiners never give up. A fundamental transformation of the country and culture is a long march. They keep coming and coming. They never sleep. Until they get their way completely, the nature redefiners will continue to picket and protest and dehumanize and demonize and destroy those who disagree with them – all in the name of ‘tolerance,’ of course.”
AFA encouraged signers of its pledge to also share their concerns on Target’s Facebook page and use the hashtag #BoycottTarget. The hashtag topped Facebook’s top 10 trends for three days in a row, last Friday through Sunday.
Target’s page has become overrun with irate comments about the new bathroom policy, prompting company representatives to warn some commenters that “future offensive posts will be deleted.”

Michael Brown, president of FIRE School of Ministry and author of “Outlasting the Gay Revolution,” noted in a recent column that a Target representative responded to one outraged customer by writing anyone who had a problem with the new bathroom policy could use the single-occupancy handicapped bathroom.
“So, rather than telling the less than 1 percent who struggle with their gender identity to use the handicapped bathroom, Target is telling them to use the larger men and ladies bathrooms, while telling the 99 percent to use the single handicapped facility,” Brown wrote. “This is just plain insanity.”
It is estimated that only about 0.2 to 0.3 percent of the American population is transgender, yet Target appears to be elevating its concerns above the privacy of the rest of the population,. Kupelian said, citing it as evidence of the LGBT movement’s coercive power.
“The fact that Target executives are willing to risk committing corporate suicide by alienating the vast American middle class – which is profoundly offended by the policy they are imposing on Target stores – illustrates the nature of intimidation and bullying that are the LGBT movement’s stock in trade,” he said. “Big corporations are notoriously cowardly, unfortunately.”
He noted the Boy Scouts of America gave in to pressure from LGBT groups and their corporate allies, removing the long-maintained ban on homosexual scouts in 2013, despite the fact the Supreme Court had ruled in 2000 that the Scouts had the constitutionally protected right to set their own membership standards.
Then, when LGBT groups still weren’t satisfied, the Boy Scouts lifted their ban on homosexual scout leaders two years later.
Kupelian fears Target is falling to the same bullying tactics.
“Of course, now we’re seeing that both sides can play the boycott card,” he reasoned. “Hopefully it will force Target executives to realize that, in this life, you have to stand for something. And whichever side you take, there is a price to pay.”
It comes as a relief to Kupelian that so many Americans are fighting back against Target’s policy – because, he said, if they didn’t resist this, what would they resist?
“If Americans cannot find the moral clarity to push back on as obvious an issue as this one, I don’t think there would be much hope for our nation,” Kupelian said.
“Again, we are talking about grown men living in a state of psychotic delusion – believing they are really women – and literally forcing that delusion on innocent women and girls in the ladies’ bathroom.”

Driving Young People To Hopelessness Will Create A Massive Group That Will Follow Obama Over The Cliff.

Barack Obama
By Paul Bremmer
Today’s young adults are much less likely to believe in the American Dream than were young adults in 1986, and analysts have attributed this surge in pessimism to factors such as wage stagnation, mounting college debt and the economic damage caused by the Great Recession.
However, one author and journalist traces the decline in American hopefulness to the very man who promised hope and change when he first ran for president.
“Reality check: For a good part of millennials’ lives (the past seven years), their nation has been run by a lawless, lying Marxist revolutionary, a man literally obsessed with phantom menaces like global warming, ‘gun violence,’ an epidemic of racism among law enforcement, and other delusions,” said David Kupelian, author of “The Snapping of the American Mind.”
Meanwhile, he continued, “The U.S. economy has gone to hell, her culture has descended further into the gutter, the tyranny of political correctness has grown, fear for the safety of the American homeland is the highest since 9/11, and the rest of the world is on fire. Of course millennials aren’t feeling all warm and hopeful about the nation’s future – or their own.”
Fusion 2016 Issues poll released earlier this month found only 16 percent of 18-to-35-year-olds said the American Dream is “very much alive” today. On the other hand, 29 percent said the Dream is “not really alive.”
The pollsters compared their results with those from a similar poll conducted in 1986 by the Roper Organization. In the 1986 poll, which gauged the opinions of 18-to-34-year-olds, 32 percent said the American Dream was “very much alive,” while 12 percent said it was “not really alive.”
The three most common items today’s young people consider part of the American Dream are the ability to start a business, send their kids to college, and get a college education for themselves.
In related news, the Washington Times reported this month on a new research paper which shows that among members of America’s armed forces, white males under age 24 are the most likely to commit suicide.
The two psychologists who authored the paper initially considered whether military suicides increased in the 2000s because of the two wars launched in that decade, but upon reviewing historical data they found military suicides actually fell during previous wars. So they concluded the military’s current suicide problem is a millennial-generation problem.
The authors noted millennial recruits are more likely than previous generations to come from single-parent homes and carry the emotional baggage of adverse childhood experiences. Therefore they are “a more vulnerable cohort of soldiers as compared to earlier generations,” according to the report.
Kupelian agrees with that analysis, but sees another factor at work as well.
“This is sadly true, of course, but compounding this problem is that the commander-in-chief is a person that most soldiers recognize is not a worthy leader and cannot truly have their best interests at heart,” Kupelian said. “This is devastating for the military. Indeed, the report found that for some mysterious reason the rate of military suicides – predominantly among millennials – started increasing shortly before Obama became president.” (The rate started sharply increasing around 2006 or 2007, according to one of the report’s authors.)
Survey data seem to back up Kupelian’s point. In 2014, President Obama’s popularity fell to an all-time low among active-duty military members. Only 15 percent approved of the way Obama was handling his job as commander-in-chief, while 55 percent disapproved. In 2009, Obama’s first year in office, 35 percent of military members had approved of him while 40 percent had disapproved.
In short, Kupelian faults Obama for crushing the very spirit that keeps the American Dream alive.
“The ‘American Dream’ has everything to do with hopefulness, with love of country, with optimism, with a belief in American exceptionalism – and just beneath the surface of that belief in American exceptionalism, a belief that God has uniquely blessed this nation,” Kupelian said.
“The far left, led by Obama, who has controlled the nation’s levers of power for seven long years, has done everything possible, whether intentionally or not, to extinguish this flame, this love of country and confidence in the future that has traditionally burned brightly in the heart of every true American.”
