First the NFL rejected a print ad from a veterans group asking Super Bowl
attendees to stand for the national anthem. Now, the league and NBC, the
network broadcasting the game Sunday, have rejected a TV ad from
AML BitCoin for being “too political,” according to the company.

The ad mocks North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un, with an actor portraying
the despot as angry his hackers can’t steal their crypto-currency.

“We have been informed by our media buyers that the network carrying the
NFL’s Super Bowl game, NBC, will not accept our television ad ‘North Korea
Can’t Steal AML BitCoin’ for placement during the broadcast.” AML Bitcoin
president Marcus Andrade wrote in a letter to NFL commissioner
Roger Goodell, of which The Daily Caller obtained a copy.

“An ad taking Kim Jong-un, dictator of North Korea, to task in a humorous
and biting way should not be offensive to anyone,” the letter continues. “Our
ad reminds viewers that Kim Jong-un and his army of hackers have been
stealing billions of dollars of Bitcoin and other digital currencies for the past
few years, funding their rogue nuclear weapons programs and thwarting
efforts by the rest of the world to sanction this behavior. And our ad points
out that, unlike the other digital currencies, the AML BitCoin has been
designed with features that prevent his army from stealing it.”

Former NFL player and coach Mike Ditka has lashed out at "liberals" and "politically correct idiots" who are calling for the Washington Redskins to change the team's name because it's a "racial slur" offensive to Native Americans.

In an interview with RedskinsHistorian.com, the ESPN analyst made it clear that he plans to continue using the football franchise's Redskins nickname during the season even though some NFL announcers are considering just calling the team "Washington," USA Today reported.

"What's all the stink over the Redskin name?" said the former Chicago Bears coach and tight end. "It's so much [expletive], it's incredible. We're going to let the liberals of the world run this world. It was said out of reverence, out of pride to the American Indian.

"Even though it was called a Redskin, what are you going to call them, a Brownskin? This is so stupid it's appalling, and I hope that owner keeps fighting for it and never changes it, because the Redskins are part of an American football history, and it should never be anything but the Washington Redskins."

Last year, 10 members of Congress sent letters to Redskins owner Dan Snyder, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, Redskins sponsor FedEx, and the other 31 NFL franchises, calling on the Washington team to change its name.

The Native American Oneida tribe in upstate New York has also called for Goodell to "stand up to bigotry" by denouncing "the racial slur" in the Washington Redskins name.

Although 50 Democratic U.S. senators sent a letter to Goodell calling for the change in May, Snyder has vowed that he will not give the team a new moniker.

"I admire him for it," said Ditka, while blaming "all the politically correct idiots in America," for the furor. "It's got nothing to do with anything else. We're going to change something because we can. I am not very tolerant of the liberals who complain about everything."

The franchise was started in Boston in 1932 and was initially called the Braves, according to the team's website. It adopted the Redskins name the following year and moved to Washington in 1937.

After Sterling, Race Baiters Seek Other Targets. Redskins Are Next, Who Will Then Find Themselves In The Spotlight?

California Democratic Rep. Henry Waxman wants a congressional hearing on the Washington Redskins' team name, saying that it is "derogatory" and offensive.

Waxman sent a letter to House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Rep. Fred Upton, R-Mich., on Friday to call for the hearing, saying that the team's name, which has been condemned by Native American groups as being racist, should not be condoned by the National Football League.

Waxman compared the continued use of the name to the remarks made by Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling, whom the National Basketball Association banned for life, fined, and ordered to sell the team after a tape was leaked of racist statements he made to his girlfriend.

Waxman said the NBA took action and quickly banned Sterling, but NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has defended Redskins' owner Dan Snyder's insistence that the team's name would not be changed, reports The Hill.

"In the case of the Washington football team, the offensive conduct is public, not private," said the Democratic lawmaker. "But it is being condoned and defended by National Football League."

Waxman is the ranking Democrat on the Commerce Committee, which oversees professional sports, and said the NFL and its teams receive numerous tax breaks and benefits to justify the committee becoming involved.

"The word 'redskin' has been described by one Native American expert as being 'the equivalent of the 'N-word,'" Waxman wrote in the letter. "Another Native American activist described it as 'one of the last vestiges of racism that is held right out in the open in America.'"

Waxman also noted that 50 years ago the Redskins were the last NFL team to racially integrate, only agreeing to do so after pressure from then-Interior Secretary Stewart Udall.

"A congressional hearing could be a similar catalyst for action today," Waxman wrote. "We could play a constructive role in challenging racism by asking Mr. Snyder and Mr. Goodell to explain in a public hearing how their actions are consistent with the public interest."

Lawmakers from both parties have called on Snyder to change the team's name. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., has made repeated calls for the NFL to force the team to change the name, recently also citing the Sterling case.

Reid earlier this week jumped into an online chat with Goodell and pushed football's top executive to "act against racism" and make the franchise pick a new team name. In the live Twitter session,  Goodell was fielding questions under the hashtag #AskCommish.

"Commissioner Goodell," Reid tweeted, "do you believe you have the authority to act against racism in the NFL like Mr. Silver did in the NBA?"

Republican Arizona Sen. John McCain has also said he would "probably" change the team's name if he was Snyder, and that the team owner should meet with Native American leaders to determine what the best course of action should be.
