Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D., Wis.) has quietly
stepped away from the committee that has
 oversight over a scandal-plagued Wisconsin
 Veterans Affairs facility, actions some
 Republicans see as the Democratic senator
 running from her past failures on the issue.

Baldwin served on the Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee throughout
 the 114th Congress but does not appear to
be on the committee in the 115th Congress,
according to its roster. The committee has
oversight over the Tomah VA, a VA facility
 in Wisconsin that was over-prescribing opiates
 to patients and saw a Marine die from an
overdose.

A memo, first circulated in 2009, warned
 of the dangerous amounts of narcotics that were being ordered by Dr. David Houlihan, the Tomah
VA chief of staff, and prescribed to veterans at the Tomah VA center.

Individuals at the center feared objecting to the orders of Dr. Houlihan, who received the nickname "the candy man."

"It is a known fact that if providers or pharmacists refuse to follow Dr. Houlihan’s orders, they will be
 yelled at and perhaps fired," the memo stated.

Five years later, in 2014, a veteran was prescribed a lethal mixture of drugs by the medical center
and overdosed. Dr. Houlihan was fired from the facility in 2015.

It was later discovered that Baldwin, who was first elected to the Senate in 2012, was the only
member of Congress from Wisconsin to receive an official federal government Inspector General
 report on the abuses at Tomah. However, Baldwin did not take action until more than four months
 later after the scandal became public, according to reports.

A former staffer of Baldwin, Marquette Baylor, was ousted from her position as deputy state director
 over the controversy.

Baylor was offered a severance package that came with a stipulation of signing a confidentiality
agreement, according to news reports at the time. The amount that Baylor would have received is
 not known. Baylor rejected the severance package.

Heather Fluty Simcakoski, the widow of the veteran who died at the facility, previously said that
Baldwin's handling of the VA report on Tomah was "frustrating" to her.

"She said (she's) so sorry for our loss, and that she takes very serious those things, but not, ‘Sorry
 for not reading the report,'" Simcakoski said during an interview in 2015.

A spokesman for the Republican Party of Wisconsin told the Washington Free Beacon that Sen. Baldwin
 is running from the issue rather than standing up for Wisconsin veterans.

"Senator Baldwin's decision to run from her failures rather than stand up for Wisconsin's veterans
 is shameful," Alec Zimmerman said. "Instead of fighting for reforms to the system by participating
in the ongoing oversight of the Tomah VA by the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs
Committee, she has embraced the Washington status quo and fled her responsibilities to solve
 the problem. Nothing can change the fact that Senator Baldwin failed to act when she had reason
 to believe Wisconsin's veterans were in danger."

Sen. Baldwin's office did not return a request for comment by press time.

This is a disgrace. The agency that's supposed to care for those who were

 willing to sacrifice everything for us is full of criminally unaccountable

 bureaucrats more concerned with saving their own skin. Per Newsmax:

Staffers at a Department of Veterans Affairs hospital in Florida left a dead

veteran's body in a shower room for nine hours, then tried to cover it up,

according to an internal report, Fox News reported.

Hospice staff members at the Bay Pines VA hospital put the veteran's

body in a hallway, then put in a shower room, which increased the likelihood

that the body would decompose, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

The veteran died in February while under hospice care. The Times notes

the incident was not documented correctly, such as not providing nurse

organizational charts that would have shown who was in charge.

"We feel that we have taken strong, appropriate and expeditious steps to

strengthen and improve our existing systems and processes within the unit,"

said hospital spokesman Jason Dangel, reports the Times.

We wish we could say this was a one-time thing, but tragedies like this

 are a common occurrence at America's most poorly run government agency. 

President Trump has yet to name a secretary of Veterans Affairs, but may

 do so soon.

Veterans center employees resign after gruesome discovery

A total of four staff members employed at the Department of Veterans Affairs in Talihina, Oklahoma, have resigned after maggots were discovered in the wound of a resident who had been hospitalized at the facility.

The resident, who later died, was originally hospitalized at the facility for an unspecified infection. Executive Director Myles Deering said last week that although the maggots were found in the man’s wound before he died, his cause of death was sepsis and was determined to be unrelated to the parasites.

“He did not succumb as a result of the parasites. He succumbed as a result of the sepsis,” Deering stated.

Three nurses, including the director of nursing, and a physician’s assistant resigned after the investigation started. Shane Faulkner, a spokesman for the department confirmed, “All four chose to resign before the termination process began.”

Deering said not only did the facility report the incident to the Oklahoma State Department of Health, it also provided the report to the district attorney to determine if any charges should be filed.

An Atlanta man, Raymie Parker, identified the deceased as his father, Owen Reese Peterson.

Parker said of his encounter with the facility, “During the 21 days I was there… I pled with the medical staff, the senior medical staff, to increase his meds so his bandages could be changed. I was met with a stonewall for much of that time.”

He added that while he was impressed with the floor nursing staff, the senior medical staff and administration left much to be desired.

“The facility is 100 years old,” Deering stated. He also said that the agency has considered moving the medical center to a newer facility, but fixing the structures at the current location could take millions of dollars.

Oklahoma State Senator Frank Simpson, who also serves as chairman of the Senate Committee on Military and Veterans Affairs, indicated that staffing is a huge problem within the agency.

“The Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs is required to maintain certain staffing levels and currently is unable to meet them,” he said. “At Talihina, they had to reduce the population of veterans there due to the inability to staff the facility.”

This is the second time the Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs has made headlines for neglectful care in the last few years. In 2012, a former physician’s assistant from Claremore Veterans Center served 90 days in jail after pleading guilty to three misdemeanor charges of aggravated assault and battery due to two deaths at the facility that were traced back to caretaker neglect.

Because the Barack Obama presidency has been 

such a consistent parade of failures, with each week

 bringing a new tale of woe, corruption, and 

incompetence, it's easy to forget perhaps his 

greatest failure: the wholesale abuse and neglect

 of our combat veterans. This story illustrates just

 how bad it's become.

The mother of an injured Army veteran of the Iraq war is selling a rare letter

from President Obama to cover her son's medical and personal expenses

despite the president's handwritten promise to do "everything we can over

the next four years to support your family."

Cherry McKimmey told Secrets, "Something good might as well come out of

that. It is doing no good lying in my drawer. It means absolutely nothing to me."

She received the note from Obama in July 2009 after a non-stop effort to beg

federal officials to help her son, David McKimmey.

McKimmey was campaigning for the the Veterans Administration to do more to

help him recover from injuries for which he received the Bronze Star with Valor

for crawling back into a truck fire to save two soldiers who eventually died. He

suffered burns to his face and hands is still likely to lose his leg.

McKimmey is an American hero who deserves the best care imaginable. The Obama

 administration's failure to act on his behalf is a total disgrace.

A wounded warrior and 21-year veteran of the U.S. Army just found himself a new ally in his struggle to get proper care and treatment from the Department of Veterans Affairs: GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump.

Trump met the 101st Airborne vet and his wife, Todd and April, Tuesday evening at a Sioux City, Iowa, campaign event. 

When The Donald noticed that the man was in a wheelchair, he left the podium behind and walked into the crowd to meet Todd and April face to face and hear their story.

He wasn’t happy with what he heard.

“With the current administration, warrior care is lacking to say the least, and especially post-service,” Todd explained. “What else will the Trump administration do better than the Obama administration?

“Is the VA not doing the job?” Trump asked — a rhetorical question if I’ve ever heard one.

April, who serves as her husband’s full-time caregiver, explained that she couldn’t even get an appointment to enroll in a new VA program that was supposed to meet their needs.

“I am going to put pressure on the VA like you won’t believe,” Trump said after asking the couple to write down their contact information. “Let’s see if we can get this.”

“As president, I can guarantee it,” he added. “As Trump, I can say, ‘I’ll probably be able to pull it off anyway.’ Because they know it won’t stop. It’ll be easier to take Todd and just say ‘Look, Todd, we’re gonna work with you.'”

Just imagine the same situation with Hillary Clinton, who recently denied that the VA’s problems were “widespread.”

I can’t even try to imagine it with President Barack Obama. The idea of his actually leaving his podium to speak to an American warrior in the crowd is more than my brain can picture.

It looks like John McCain‘s remarks about Donald Trump supporters being crazies has backfired on him big time. Now McCain’s life is being dissected piece by piece, beginning with his war record, outbursts of angry insanity, to his overall anti-American tenure asSenator of Arizona.

Seemingly, McCain has always been a traitor to his country, beginning with his stint in Viet Nam, where he was accused by many fellow soldiers of collaborating with the enemy while being held a POW in N. Viet Nam.

Colonel Ted Guy, McCain’s commander during his time as a POW was preparing a case of treason against McCain shortly before President Richard M. Nixon signed a blanketpardon for all returning prisoners of war. Thus, McCain escaped all prospects of prosecution.

John McCain, again, blatantly met with the enemy, rallied for their support, and led the way back in 2012, alongside the Administration when President Obama tried everything in the book to gain approval from Congress to begin bombing the Assad government to help certain rebel factions gain control of Syria. John McCain even went to Syria to meet with the so called rebels to seal a deal, helping them financially with billions of dollars, weapons, and equipment, training by the US military in Jordan, and help on the battlefield. These same insurgents who have various ties to international terrorist organizations, including Al Qaeda, are now known as ISIS, since being able to organize into a massive army via the US help, all compliments of President Obama and Senator John McCain.

Incident after incident of weapons and supplies being mistakenly dropped into ISIS hands have been reported. Make no mistake, these supply and weapons drops are intentional.

Again, McCain is committing treason against his country.

Donald Trump is right: John McCain is no American Hero—he is a coward in every respect.

McCain has an impeccable record of being anti-American with every piece of legislation he endorses and writes.

McCain does not support war veterans.

McCain is anti-second amendment.

McCain supports an open border policy.

John McCain also has his POW records sealed, which is not consistent with someone proud of their record.

John McCain supports almost every bill that comes along the pike that is bad for the American people and for the country in general.

Senator McCain has also been wrestling with insanity since the public has known him, with angry outbursts, foul language, and rants. This, along with his general anti-Americanism are a direct result of the brainwashing he went through during his time as a POW and the guilt he carries around all the time in his subconscious because he aided and abetted the enemy. He has been carrying this around ever since. Definitely not a person who we want in public office making important decisions about our country.

McCain must be on some mega psyche prescription drugs in relation to his mental state,Ambien being admitted to. But many other psychotropic drugs have to be taken also by someone in his psychiatric state.

One thing is clear about John McCain, and that is…he is, and always has been mentally unfit for public office.
