Obama And Kerry Lied About "Framework." For Once, Tehran Was Telling The Truth!

Hayden: Iran's 'Stunning' Claims Demand Congress Review Deal

Friday, 10 Apr 2015 11:06 AM
By Melissa Clyne

Comments made Thursday by Iran’s supreme leader about the terms of the proposed nuclear deal were in direct contradiction to what the White House has represented,  making it imperative that Congress review the agreement, retired Gen. Michael Hayden, a former director of both the NSA and CIA, said Friday on "America’s Forum."

"When this first happened and [Iran] was saying different things in Tehran than [Secretary of State John] Kerry saying in Washington, I said you have to expect that. And in some ways you'd want that, because each guy has got to sell the deal to his constituency," said Hayden on the Newsmax TV program.

"But in the last couple of days, the stories have become so desperate that they don't link back to the original deal," he said, characterizing Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's statements as "stunning."

Story continues below video.

"I cannot see how State Department spokesmen, or even White House spokesmen, can repeat what the president said earlier about 'this historic agreement,'" Hayden said. "What agreement?"
Khamenei, according to The New York Times, boldly stated that all economic sanctions would need to be lifted immediately upon the signing of an agreement and that the nation’s military sites would be "strictly off limits to foreign inspectors."

The Obama administration has lost all credibility, nationally and internationally, with its purported misrepresentations of the proposed accord’s terms, according to Hayden.

"We don't have a deal. And those things we've claimed have been agreed, a negotiating partner has said are not agreed ... even the French have a white paper out there that's inconsistent with our views," he said.

"I would say, right now, all is chaos. Congress needs to look into this. What's going on here? What are the facts?"

Hayden said that he had hoped to see Khamenei come out with a "more muted and supportive" statement.

"In a normal world, with the head of a foreign government saying what he said, this would be over, we would be done," he said. "We would simply say, we don't have a deal.

"Without being specific," Khamenei  announced that "the American point papers are all wrong, you got to lift all sanctions and you got to lift them all at once, right at the beginning. And you're never going to get to see any of our military installations.

"So," Hayden asked, "where do we go from here?"

We Hope Hillary's Ability To Raise Money Equals Her Ability To Write A Book!

Clinton plans to astound, intimidate with fundraising ‘like nothing you’ve seen’
TheHill.com

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's anticipated weekend announcement of her bid for the White House in 2016 will kick off an aggressive fundraising push that could be record breaking.

According to the Daily Beast, Clinton will use her first week as a candidate to raise "an insane amount of money," one insider asserts.

"They are going to raise in one week what some Republican presidential candidates are going to raise the entire cycle," one Clinton aide told the Beast.

Ready for Hillary super PAC, which has already raised $15 million, will host what will likely be its final fundraiser in New York before her campaign kicks into operation drawing on the support of the 3.6 million people who have been engaged by the PAC, the Beast said.

Earlier reports also indicate that her campaign will attract an avalanche of financial support.

"The floodgates are going to open immediately, and there's going to be a rush to get on the team," Don Peebles, the real estate mogul who served on President [Barack] Obama's national finance committee, told The Hill in January.

"There's nobody in the Democratic Party who can match her. Not even close."

"It's going to be like nothing you've seen," another top Democratic donor, told The Hill.

"The numbers will be astounding."

According to the Beast, Clinton is expected to use her campaign website to drive some of her fundraising while also working with allied organizations such as EMILY's List.

The Clintons have been known as successful fundraisers but this will mark her first campaign since the Citizens United decision ushered in the era of Super PACs. As a sign of what may be in store, Texas GOP Sen. Ted Cruz raised $31 million within just days of announcing his candidacy.

The Washington Post reported that Clinton's campaign launch will likely be low key, perhaps through an announcement on social media or with a video followed by small one-on-one and small group meetings with voters.

Obama Should Learn From The Chinese In How They Censor The Internet. Betcha, It Would Reduce The Complaints About Him! Is This The Reason For Net Neutrality?

Report Sheds Light on New Cyber Weapon Used By China on US Sites

By Jennifer G. Hickey

China employed a previously unknown cyber weapons system in its attack on GitHub, an American coding site, according to a new report released Friday.

A team of researchers from the University of California at Berkeley and the University of Toronto concluded the Chinese were able to use a new system, known as "The Great Cannon" to launch attacks on websites and inject malicious viruses on computers worldwide.

"On March 16, GreatFire.org observed that servers they had rented to make blocked websites accessible in China were being targeted by a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack. On March 26, two GitHub pages run by GreatFire.org also came under the same type of attack. Both attacks appear targeted at services designed to circumvent Chinese censorship," said the report.

The discovery of the system, the researchers said, was a dangerous development since the tool could allow China to monitor Web users that visit Chinese websites or sites with advertising content hosted in China.

The report also provides new insight into the Chinese government's cyberwarfare efforts and the lengths to which officials will go to censor information.

"The operational deployment of the Great Cannon represents a significant escalation in state-level information control: the normalization of widespread use of an attack tool to enforce censorship by weaponizing users," the researchers said.
Latest News Update
"While employed for a highly visible attack in this case, the Great Cannon clearly has the capability for use in a manner similar to the [National Security Agency's] QUANTUM system, affording China the opportunity to deliver exploits targeting any foreign computer that communicates with any China-based website," they added.

The "Great Cannon" was uncovered in the course of investigating attacks against GitHub and GreatFire.org, a site that helps Chinese citizens evade the country’s massive government-run firewall.

"This is just one part of President Xi Jinping’s push to gain tighter control over the Internet and remove any challenges to the party," James A. Lewis, a cybersecurity expert at the Center for Strategic Studies, told The New York Times.

Earlier this month, China began a campaign to crack down on "rumors" and Internet porn, reports Foreign Policy.

"The first censorship campaign of this type began in 2013, accompanied by an ambitious crackdown on Internet 'rumors,' a vague term that covers not only rumors, lies, and libel — none of which are particularly hard to find on the Chinese web — but also content that authorities deem politically sensitive or potentially destabilizing," writes Bethany Allen-Ebrahimian.

Like Duh? Of Course There Will Be More Crisis Coming!

Dimon: 'There Will Be Another Crisis'

Friday, 10 Apr 2015 08:00 AM
By Dan Weil

While financial conditions have improved vastly since the 2008 credit meltdown, another financial crisis will eventually arise, says JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon.

"The trigger to the next crisis will not be the same as the trigger to the last one, but there will be another crisis," he writes in his annual letter to shareholders.

"Triggering events could be geopolitical, a recession where the Fed rapidly increases interest rates, a commodities price collapse, a commercial real estate crisis, bubbles, etc."

And what about the impact on financial markets? "The markets in general could be more volatile" than in the typical financial crisis, Dimon explains.

The S&P 500 index suffered a negative total return of 37 percent in 2008.

Problems such as banks' low inventory of securities and reluctance to extend credit, thanks largely to increased regulation, "make it more likely that a crisis will cause more volatile market movements with a rapid decline in valuations even in what are very liquid markets," Dimon explains.
Latest News Update

"It will be harder for banks either as lenders or market-makers to 'stand against the tide.'"

David Stockman, White House budget director under President Reagan, sees a crisis looming close on the horizon.

"The worldwide central bank money printing spree of the last two decades has generated massive excess capacity and mal-investment all around the planet," he writes on his blog.

The Federal Reserve has kept its federal funds rate target at a record low of zero to 0.25 percent since December 2008 and inflated its balance sheet to $4.5 trillion through quantitative easing.

"What is coming, therefore, is not their father's inflationary spiral, but an unprecedented and epochal global deflation," Stockman states. In the United States, consumer prices were unchanged in the 12 months through February.

"So the central banks just keep printing, thereby inflating the asset bubbles worldwide. What ultimately stops today's new style central bank credit cycle, therefore, is bursting financial bubbles," he says.

"That has already happened twice this century. A third proof of the case looks to be just around the corner."
