The Obama Administration has not learned how to handle controversy. The latest is the very improper response to Secretary of State Kerry's sailing while Egypt erupted and Morsi was removed from office. Initially it was denied that Kerry was on his yacht (from a State Department spokeswoman) during the events, now that story has been reversed and pictures disclose how erroneous the initial press reports were. Why can't this group just tell the truth?
How much damage has this done to the Obama brand? Probably not much as the brand is so badly hurt that stupid comments from a State Department person could not damage it more.
This group cannot tell the truth if their lives depended upon it, that is, until they are pushed into a corner! They seem to want to paint a "best story" picture until they get caught, then they revise it. It sends the message that you cannot believe their first story or maybe even the first twenty! Why not tell the truth from the beginning?

Kerry Aide's Reversal: Top Diplomat Was Sailing While Morsi Fell
Friday, 05 Jul 2013 06:50 PM
“While he was briefly on his boat on Wednesday, Secretary Kerry worked around the clock all day including participating in the president’s meeting with his national security council,” the spokeswoman, Jen Psaki, told The Boston Globe.
On Wednesday, Psaki denied a CBS News report on Twitter that the nation’s top diplomat had been seen boarding his yacht, Isabel, off Nantucket just hours after Morsi — Egypt’s first democratically elected leader — was deposed.
“Any report or tweet that he was on a boat is completely inaccurate,” Psaki said, seeking to quell any notion that Kerry was not on the job.
Another Kerry aide who was not authorized to speak publicly told the Globe on Friday that Wednesday’s denial stemmed from “confusion,” adding that Kerry had apparently taken his grandson out for an hourlong sail.
The secretary’s aides bristled at the suggestion that Kerry was simply lounging around on Wednesday, saying that he has been working the telephones with world leaders and participating in White House meetings about the Egyptian situation and other foreign policy matters, the Globe reports.
