Benghazi Timeline: Obama On The Campaign Trail While Security In Libya Deteriorated
The nonprofit Government Accountability Institute (GAI) released a timeline Wednesday that offers a side-by-side comparison of what President Barack Obama was doing during the days leading up to, and after, the Sept. 11, 2012 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, while the terror attack was taking place.
GAI had previously reported that Obama had missed daily intelligence briefings for five days in a row prior to the attacks. The timeline illustrates that the President was on the campaign trail, drumming up support for his race against Republican Presidential nominee Mitt Romney. Obama did attend his daily briefing on Nov. 12 – the day after the attack.
