Former CBS News investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson says she pitched a story two years ago that terrorists were becoming adept at using social media, but her bosses weren't interested.

"I was being told by military and intelligence officials some of the same things PresidentObama  said Sunday in the '60 Minutes' interview, about how terrorists were using social media to exploit the vulnerabilities where these Arab Spring uprisings had happened and so on," Attkisson said Sunday on Fox News Channel's "Media Buzz."

"I proposed a story at CBS that would look at the regional impact of what was going on rather than the country-by-country crisis, to look at the big picture, because my sources were saying that these things were connected," she said. "The CBS managers were not interested."

Attkisson said she believes the network would have gone with the story had the White House put the story "on the front burner."

Attkisson left CBS News earlier this year complaining that her stories that painted the Obama administration in a bad light were being spiked.
