Cash A Check, Get Food Stamps--You Need An ID, Why Not To Vote?

I can’t think of a better illustration of progressive attacks on the integrity of the rule of law and the will of the people than what I call “the voter suppression scam.”
“Voter suppression” sounds like a terrible thing. Who could support it? Who on earth would not oppose it? Progressives are great at coming up with phony problems, naming them and then battling them with ideas that would be opposed by almost all fair-minded, well-informed Americans. And this is one of them.
The voter suppression scam suggests millions of Americans are being denied the right to vote because they can’t come up with appropriate identification.
It’s completely untrue. It’s a lie. That’s why it’s a scam.
The solution to this make-believe problem is to invalidate, challenge and scrap laws requiring voter ID by any means necessary – intimidation, judicial activism, legislation in heavily Democratic cities and states. Of course, the only reason the progressives want to strike down laws requiring identification at the polls is so they can carry out voter fraud by getting ineligible people to vote – illegal aliens, out-of-district voters, voters who go to the polls multiple times.
No one has pushed these campaigns to invalidate your vote harder than Attorney General Eric Holder – the top law enforcement officer in the country. The Justice Department has systematically challenged laws that require identification at the polls for one simple reason – he and his boss, Barack Obama, would like to see America, by hook or by crook, become a one-party state.
But even Obama had a moment of candor on this issue of issue in an unguarded moment during a radio interview with another architect of “voter suppression scam” – Al Sharpton.
So there you have it.
Obama himself opposes voter ID. He doesn’t think citizens should be required to prove they are who they say they are and that they are registered, eligible voters – citizens of the United States. But even he admits that “voter suppression” is nonsense. Voter ID laws don’t prevent anyone from voting – at least not those who are legal voters. Yet, the relentless chorus of “voter suppression” rhetoric continues ad nauseam.
It’s the ultimate example of duplicity, dishonesty, even the intentional criminality of the so-called “progressive” movement.
They accuse others of doing what they do – disenfranchising voters.
They claim voters are being disenfranchised because they have been denied identification. It’s nonsense. Everyone needs some form of ID – whether it is to drive, maintain a bank account, cash a welfare check or get food stamps. Obama knows that. But it doesn’t stop him from mau-mauing about “voter suppression” most of the time. But the “voter suppression scam” is actually intended to do what it purports to fight – namely the disenfranchisement of legal, eligible voters at the expense of fraudulent voters.
Amazing, isn’t it?
Next time you hear someone telling sob stories about “voter suppression,” keep this in mind.
It’s a lie. It’s an intentional lie. It’s an intentional lie designed to undermine your right to vote.
