TV personality and real estate tycoon Donald Trump took shots at several nations, President Barack Obama and his campaign rivals in announcing his candidacy for the GOP nomination, but he saved his choicest words for former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.
Despite the 10 other Republicans who also have entered the 2016 race, Trump targeted Bush, who officially launched his campaign on Monday, blasting him for his policy preferences and insisting that Bush cannot possibly win the presidential nomination.
"Bush is totally in favor of Common Core. I don’t see how he can possibly get the nomination … He’s weak on immigration … How the hell can you vote for this guy?” Trump said, according to The Palm Beach Post.
ABC News reports that this is not the first time Trump has blasted Bush for straying too far from conservative ideology.
"The last thing we need is another Bush," Trump said, drawing applause at the Iowa Freedom Summit in January.
