Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX) said on America's Newsroom that Hillary Clinton
could face impeachment proceedings in the House of Representatives if she
is elected president.
Speaking to Bill Hemmer today, McCaul said that Huma Abedin's emails -
which were found on Anthony Weiner's laptop in a separate investigation
of the disgraced former congressman - represents "new evidence .... that
could be quite damaging."
He said the reopened investigation will keep going beyond Election Day
into a potential Clinton presidency.
"[If] the investigation goes forward and it looks like an indictment is pending,
at that point in time under the Constitution, the House of Representatives
would engage in an impeachment trial. It would go to the Senate and
impeachment proceedings and removal would take place," he said.
