REPORT: Rand Paul Attacker Just Got Devastating News, It’s Happening

Last week, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), was assaulted outside his home as he mowed his lawn. The attacker was his next-door neighbor, Rene Boucher, 59, who attacked Paul from behind, pinning him to the ground and inflicting significant injury on the senator. Additional news just emerged that could take the case to another level.
As The Daily Caller reported, Fox News’ Shepard Smith announced that Sen. Paul was told prosecutors are working on bringing federal charges against Boucher, citing clear political motivations for the attack.
Initial reports indicated that Paul’s injuries consisted of five broken ribs. However, Sen. Paul provided a medial update on his social media accounts Wednesday. “I appreciate all of the support from everyone. A medical update: final report indicates six broken ribs & new X-ray shows a pleural effusion,” his message read.
Boucher, a retired anesthesiologist and pain doctor, posted a $7,500 bond and his bail terms ordered him to stay 1,000 feet away from Paul, except while at his neighboring house. Boucher was charged with fourth-degree misdemeanor assault, to which he pled not guilty on Thursday.
Matthew Baker, the attorney representing Boucher, stated: “The unfortunate occurrence of November 3rd has absolutely nothing to do with either’s politics or political agendas … It was a very regrettable dispute between two neighbors over a matter that most people would regard as trivial.”
Neighbor and developer of the Rivergreen community, Jim Skaggs, said: “They just couldn’t get along. I think it had very little to do with Democrat or Republican politics. I think it was a neighbor-to-neighbor thing. They just both had strong opinions, and a little different ones about what property rights mean.”
These claims were accompanied by an excuse citing a “lawncare dispute” as motivation for the attack. However, that excuse has been strongly criticized by neighbors familiar with Sen. Paul and Boucher. In a Washington Examiner article retweeted by Sen. Paul himself, seven neighbors of his community spoke out in his defense.
Travis Creed stated, “The stories of a ‘landscaping dispute’ or a dispute of any sort between Rand Paul and Rene Boucher are erroneous and unfounded … The Pauls are and always have been great neighbors and friends. They take pride in their property and maintain it accordingly.”
Dan Renshaw rejected the supposed lawncare dispute motive. “Their lawn is always mowed. It’s such a lame excuse. That could have killed Rand if a rib had punctured a lung, or worse yet, the heart. Just no excuse for this type of behavior from adults. Especially educated adults.”
Alicia Stivers said, “I have never heard Sen. Paul speak an unkind word about anyone, let alone become physically violent.” She went on to express shock that a long time neighbor, Boucher, “who has not so much as exchanged an email or spoken word with Rand in several years, would race downhill and pummel Rand from behind.”both serve on the Rivergreen homeowners association. Both have stated that they have never heard of concerns or complaints regarding Paul or Boucher, or disputes between the two.
Neighbors Kevin and Diona Kelly referred to Sen. Paul and his family as friendly neighbors who invite the community to the “Paul Family Football Game” which has become a neighborhood tradition during the holidays. “It is here that Rand and his family welcome any and all neighbors,” they said.
Sen. Paul is pursuing federal charges against his attacker. Should the attacker be charged with all charges possible?

A colleague of Boucher’s, Jeff Jones, referred to Boucher’s ideology as “liberal” and stated, “[Boucher] was active on social media and said some negative things about the Republican agenda.” These sentiments were echoed by another individual familiar with Boucher. Jim Bullington stated, “He’s pretty much the opposite of Rand Paul in every way,” adding that Boucher is a supporter of nationalized health care.
Boucher has not yet admitted to a motive in the attack, however, the evidence suggesting a political motivation is overwhelming. Time will tell whether federal charges are actually brought, and whether Boucher will be held accountable for a vicious assault that is not justified by any motive.
