Top MSNBC star on the edge of a cliff… (FIRED!?)
In December, MSNBC host Joy Reid was a rising star in the mainstream media. She was a celebrated champion of liberals. She had multiple high-paying jobs and was a leader of the anti-Trump “resistance” movement.
By April, her whole world was collapsing. Critics had discovered the nasty truth about the “AM Joy” host’s past, and it pushed her once bright career to the edge of a cliff. After scores of homophobic blog posts were discovered by internet sleuths using an internet “Wayback Machine” that had archived deleted material in Reid’s old blog, the liberal icon quickly fell out of favor.
She was fired from at least one job, and liberal groups began taking back her awards and invitations to speak.
Thursday, more controversial statements from Reid’s past surfaced — and it’s the shove that could finally send her career tumbling into an abyss.
It seems Reid once endorsed Iran’s president and his suggestion that Jews be forcefully relocated out of the Middle East. On Dec. 5, 2005 Reid wrote that she hates “to admit that [Iranian President Mohammad] Amadinejad has a point” about forcing Jews from their lands and marching them at gunpoint back to Germany.
“God is not a real estate broker,” Reid wrote about the Jewish people’s claim to Israel. “He can’t just give you land 1,000 years ago that you can come back and claim today.”
That’s not the only anti-Semitic remark that critics uncovered.
On Jul. 16, 2006, she criticized CNN’s Wolf Blitzer “for being too nice to Jews,” The Federalist reported.
On Mar. 22, 2006, she spread a debunked conspiracy theory that claimed former President George W. Bush was behind the 9/11 Islamic terror attacks that killed 3,000 innocent Americans.
And on Oct. 24, 2007, she allegedly photoshopped a picture of Arizona Sen. John McCain’s head onto the body of the Virginia Tech shooter.
Reid has denied making the posts, and claimed that secret hackers must have broken into her deleted posts and changed things. That claim has been thoroughly debunked by multiple computer experts, who said such a thing is impossible.
Outside pressure from both conservative and liberal groups has been mounting for MSNBC to cancel Reid’s show over the controversy.
Roseanne’s gotta go, but MSNBC host Joy Reid gets a pass for homophobia AND 9/11 Trutherism? Man, being a liberal provides more protective armor than an Iron Man suit.http://bit.ly/2L9PoKQ
