Trump Responds After Dems Threaten Blockage of Emergency Spending Measure

“The wall is, in my view, immoral, expensive, unwise, and when the president says, ‘Well, I promised a wall during my campaign,’ I don’t think he said he was going to pass billions of dollars of cost of the wall on to the taxpayer,” House Minority Nancy Pelosi said Sunday on “Meet the Press.”In an additional tweet posted minutes after his first one, the president added that while funding for the border wall will initially come from the government’s coffers, it will eventually be procured from Mexico in one way or another.“Eventually, but at a later date so we can get started early, Mexico will be paying, in some form, for the badly needed border wall,” he wrote.
The best idea so far for paying for the wall entails taxing remittances. Specifically, a bill unveiled earlier this month by Alabama Rep.
