Most of us first met President Barack Obama’s uncle, Onyango Obama, back in 2011. At the time, Onyango found himself in a scrape with the authorities in Framingham, Mass., following a drunken jaunt behind the wheel of his SUV. By the time Framingham’s finest managed to drag Uncle Onyango to the station, his blood alcohol level had subsided to a mere .14 — just a bit under double the legal limit. And then, the real fun began. As it turned out, not only was Uncle Onyango behind the wheel illegally, he was in the United States illegally. Much like the President’s Aunt Zeituni Onyango, who eventually “earned” asylum, Onyango Obama was an illegal alien.
These days, Onyango is still here, somehow securing his own stay of deportation despite his criminal record and the fact that he dodged immigration authorities for nearly two decades before the boys in blue popped him on the DUI charge. According to what little press coverage there has been on the wayward first uncle, Uncle Onyango told arresting officers that 2011 night, “I think I will call the White House.” It’s possible that was the booze talking; because the White House not only didn’t acknowledge taking Uncle Onyango’s call, but chief Barack Obama mouthpiece Jay Carney told reporters that his boss expected no special treatment for his drunken relative. In fact, the President did everything short of an extraordinary rendition to distance himself from his Uncle Onyango.
What confuses me is not that President Obama has an uncle who occasionally makes him wince. Onyango Obama is hardly the first first relative to flit across the headlines over the years. There is no “Uncle O’s Kenyan Lager” to compete with “Billy Beer.” The first daughters have never tried to buy hooch at the Gas’n’Go while their Secret Service detail lingered uncomfortably on the sidewalk. And I’m fairly certain Uncle Onyango hasn’t tried to lobby his nephew for any Presidential pardons for drug convictions.
What confuses me is why Barack Obama lied when asked about his Uncle Onyango’s adventures in driving. In November 2011, just a couple months after Onyango Obama’s arrest, the White House claimed the President had never met the uncle to whom he referred in one of his oddly premature memoirs as “Uncle Omar.” And then, last week, Uncle Onyango embarrassed his nephew again. According to Onyango Obama, the President lived with his uncle while a student at Harvard Law School. And the reason for the latest ever-changing story from the White House strains credulity to the breaking point. The Boston Globe reported:

On Thursday, a White House official said the press office had not fully researched the relationship between the president and his uncle before telling the Globe that they had no record of the two meeting. This time, the press office asked the president directly, which they had not done in 2011.

The Obama White House denied any meeting between the two men, without bothering to ask Obama. If you believe that, I have $30 million dollars waiting in Nairobi. Let me transfer it through your bank account, and I’ll give you 10 percent. Honest!
The truth is: Uncle Onyango hardly qualifies as all that big a deal. Nearly every family has a resident Uncle Onyango. Most of us simply keep him away from the liquor cabinet. If he’s particularly unappealing, we send him a lovely card at Christmastime and cross our fingers that he doesn’t roll into the driveway unannounced like Uncle Eddie from “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.”
Most of us handle troublesome relatives that way, but not President Obama. Confronted with a vexing relative, Barack Obama automatically defaulted to dishonesty. Barack Obama lied. Barack Obama always lies. He lied about Obamacare. He lied about Benghazi. He lied about Operation Fast and Furious. He lied about raising taxes on the middle class. And he even lied about poor Uncle Onyango. If Barack Obama were just another liquor store clerk, his lying would be creepy and sad. But Barack Obama is the President of the United States. When Barack Obama lies, people die.

The Obamacare lies have been all over the news lately. Particularly the one about “If you like your health care plan, you can keep your health care plan” that millions of American have learned was a falsehood through cancellation notices.

Today, the White House changed yet another story in a move Fox News described as “at best a misrepresentation” and “at worst a big lie.”

It surfaced when Obama’s illegal-alien uncle, who came to the attention of authorities when he was arrested for allegedly driving drunk, appeared in court this week. A judge eventually granted Omar Onyango Obama permission to stay in the U.S. because he had been in the country so long.

The uncle testified during the hearing that his famous nephew had stayed at his Cambridge apartment for about three weeks. At the time, Onyango Obama was in the U.S. illegally and fighting deportation.

He’s the second sibling of the president’s father to face deportation to Kenya since he took office.

Zeituni Onyango, the president’s aunt, won asylum in 2010 after a federal official disclosed days before Barack Obama’s historic election in 2008 that she was living illegally in Boston public housing.

President Obama had written in his memoir, “Dreams from My Father,” that he had met Zeituni Onyango.

But his relationship with his uncle, nicknamed Omar, was less clear.

In November 2011, a White House spokesman said he had no record of the two ever meeting. The Washington Post had also reported that scholars believed the two had never met.

But the story changed Thursday.

A White House official said the press office had not fully researched the relationship between the president and his uncle before telling the Boston Globe it had no record of the two meeting. This time, the press office claims to have asked the president directly, which it said it had not done in 2011.

“The president first met Omar Obama when he moved to Cambridge for law school,” said White House spokesman Eric Schultz. “The president did stay with him for a brief period of time until his apartment was ready. After that, they saw each other once every few months, but after law school they fell out of touch. The president has not seen him in 20 years, has not spoken with him in 10.”

The White House said Obama’s immigration case was handled “without any interference from the president or the White House.”

Commented Peter Kirsanow at at the National Review blog “The Corner”: “The White House never attempted to correct the record until now, claiming that in 2011 the press office hadn’t actually asked the president himself whether he’d lived with Uncle Onyango.”

Kirsanow quipped: “Before “‘misspeaking’ (to use the New York Times stylebook) about the president’s relationships, it might be a lot easier if the White House Press Office simply confirmed them with his composite girlfriends.”

The media found various ways to describe the falsehood in headlines.

“WH admits Obama briefly stayed with uncle,” said The Hill.

“After denial, White House now says Obama lived with uncle,” said the Washington Post.

“President Obama acknowledges having lived with his uncle,” said a Boston report.

“White House makes big admission about Obama’s uncle,” said The Blaze.

“White House changes story on Obama’s uncle,” said USA Today.

And the Globe said, “In reversal, Obama says he lived with uncle.”

Regarding Obamacare, besides the Obama’s lie about Americans being able to keep their coverage and their doctors, WND reported a Gallup poll showed the entire premise for Obamacare was false, documenting that most Americans were happy with their health-care and their insurance and didn’t believe the system was broken and unfixable

would be that the health-care system in the U.S. was disintegrating and needed to be rebuilt by Obama.

on Gallup Politics that showed Americans “remain generally positive about the quality of health care they personally receive, their health-care coverage and what they pay for health care.”

That means, talk radio host Rush Limbaugh explained, that the stated reason for Obamacare – the claim that the whole health-care system is broken and unfixable – was wrong.

“Everybody’s been sold a bill of goods,” he said. “Most people are and have been very happy with the current health-care system.”

Limbaugh said there was “not a massive national problem with health care in America.”

“Seventy percent of the American people were happy with the American health-care system,” he noted.

He said the false information was spread – and repeated – because the administration “wanted to control it, take it over and reform it.”

If such circumstances had developed among private enterprise, he said, it would constitute “fraud.”

WND previously reported on  Obama’s uncle, who was arrested in Framingham, Mass., after allegedly driving under the influence and nearly slamming his SUV into a police car.

According to the MetroWest Daily News, Onyango Obama failed a sobriety test after the crash, registering a blood-alcohol level of .14, while the state limit it .08

Onyango had “red and glassy eyes,” was wobbly legged and was “slurring” his speech, according to police reports.

He was ordered held without bail on a federal immigration warrant after his arraignment.

The arrest revealed Onyango’s outstanding deportation orders and his relationship to the president.

Shortly after his arrest, he told an officer, “I think I will call the White House.”

Barack Obama's uncle has claimed that the future president stayed with him while he was living in the US illegally, contradicting an apparent White House statement that the pair had never met.

Onyango "Omar" Obama told a court that his nephew lived with him in Cambridge, Massachusetts, for three weeks while studying at Harvard Law School in the late 1980s.

After Mr Obama, 69, was arrested for drink-driving in 2011 and found to be an undocumented migrant, the Boston Globe reported: "He has never met his famous nephew, according to the White House."

The President's uncle made his new claim during an immigration hearing in Boston on Tuesday, where he was granted the right to stay and work legally in the US after more than 40 years as an illegal alien.

He came to the US when he was 19 with the help of his half-brother, Barack Obama Sr., but stayed after his student visa expired in 1970. He was twice ordered deported in the 1980s, but eluded officials.

Stressing that he was a taxpayer, a good neighbour and met the requirements for permanent residency, Judge Leonard Shapiro granted him a green card. "Thank you, your honour," Mr Obama said.

Under US law, immigrants who are "out of status" may become permanent residents if they arrived before 1972, have maintained continuous residence and are found to be of "good moral character".

When he was arrested in August 2011, he was living in Framingham, a suburb of Boston, and working in an off-licence. It was alleged that he told one of the arresting officers: "I think I'll call the White House," which he later denied. He agreed to serve a year's probation and attend classes on alcohol.

Barack Obama wrote in his memoir Dreams From My Father that he learned about "Omar, the uncle who had left for America 25 years ago and had never come back" during a 1987 visit to Kenya.

The future president began studying at Harvard Law School the following year, graduating in 1991. He made no further reference to Uncle Omar in the memoir, which was published in 1995.

Asked during his hearing on Tuesday whether he had any relations in the US, the older Mr Obama said: "I do have a nephew," adding: "He's the president of the United States."

In 2010, Zeituni Onyango – Omar's sister and the president's aunt – was granted asylum by the same judge after being discovered living illegally in Boston, having ignored a 2004 deportation order.

The judge's reasoning was not made public. Ms Onyango had arrived in the US in 2000 and made a previous unsuccessful application for asylum based on violence in her native Kenya.

When she was discovered just days before the 2008 election, Mr Obama said he did not know that his aunt had been living in America illegally.

A federal immigration judge ruled Tuesday that President Obama's uncle, Onyango "Omar" Obama, may remain in the United States, the Boston Globe reported.

U.S. Immigration Judge Leonard I. Shapiro issued his ruling from the bench, saying he thought the Kenyan had met the criteria for legal permanent residency, commonly known as a green card.

"Welcome to America," Shapiro told Onyango, the Globe reported.

Shapiro based his decision on a federal immigration law that allows people who have lived in the United States since before 1972 to apply for residency.


"Thank you, Your Honor," Onyango Obama, 69, said after the ruling.

During the hearing, Onyango Obama testified that "I do have a nephew; he's the president of the United States," saying the future president stayed with him for three weeks while a student at Harvard Law School in the late 1980s.

Onyango Obama, with the help of the president's late father, came to the United States in 1963 from their native Kenya under a student visa.

Immigration rulings obtained by the Globe show he was ordered deported in 1986 and 1989, then lost an appeal in 1992. The issue arose again after he was arrested on drunken-driving charges in 2011.

After his arrest, he allegedly told an officer, "I think I will call the White House."

But Onyango Obama on Tuesday testified that he didn't recall saying that, the Globe reported.
