The terrorist group ISIS is recruiting “highly trained professionals” to make chemical weapons – and has already used them in an attack.

The Australian Foreign Minister, Julie Bishop, said the group was now undertaking “serious efforts” to develop their chemical weapons arsenal.

Speaking to the Australia Group, which is composed of nations against chemical weapons, she said: “Da’esh [ISIS] is likely to have amongst its tens of thousands of recruits the technical expertise necessary to further refine precursor materials and build chemical weapons,” Ms Bishop added.

Ms Bishop’s speech is the latest concern that Isis is attempting to acquire nuclear and chemical and biological weapons, after India warned the extremists could obtain a nuclear weapon from Pakistan.

It was reported in March that Isis had been attacking Iraqi soldiers with roadside bombs containing chlorine gas in fighting around Tikrit, after footage emerged showing plumes of orange smoke emerging for the bombs.

It follows similar allegations that the extremists had released toxic gases in the eastern district of Kobani, during the siege of the town on the Syrian border, although it could not be confirmed.

Ms Bishop added: “Apart from some crude and small scale endeavours, the conventional wisdom has been that the terrorist intention to acquire and weaponise chemical agents has been largely aspirational.

“The use of chlorine by Da’esh [Isis], and its recruitment of highly trained professionals, including from the West, have revealed far more serious efforts in chemical weapons development.”

They seek to undermine and overthrow that order – and as we have seen, are prepared to use any and all means – any and all forms of violence they can think of to advance their demented cause.

Doubling down on his advice to Americans to "lock and load" in defense against jihadi terrorist attacks on U.S. soil, Grammy winning rocker Charlie Daniels charges it's better to be "defensive and ready" than to wait for an unwilling president to act.

In an interview with Newsmax Hard Line host Ed Berliner on Newsmax TV Friday, Daniels warned that America is "faced with a situation that is not going to go away."

"No amount of placating, no amount of whatever bended over backwards, whatever is done, is going to satisfy the people who want to destroy us," he said. "They are here and motivated by forces that are beyond our control. These people want to kill us."

Daniels struck a chord with Americans in a commentary on his website triggered by the terror attack in Garland, Texas, May 3, blasting President Barack Obama and Muslims – and declaring: "Lock and load America, trouble is on the way."

He told Newsmax TV he's holding firm to the admonition, saying, "People that live in my world are not going to stand by and watch their neighborhoods overrun with terrorists and not do anything about it."

"The point I'm making is you don't have to be offensive, but be defensive and ready because this is coming and we have a president who is not willing to dig deep enough to do anything about it and until we get somebody who is, you better be ready to defend yourself," he said.

Daniels said his remarks, however, aren't meant to be taken that people should "go out and start waving a gun around everybody that comes walking down the street."

"Don't go looking for trouble in other words," he said. "If you don't like the way somebody looks, that's not an excuse enough to be offensive about it. In other words, defend. Do not offend, but defend. … What I'm speaking about it is watch your property and your people."

Daniels blamed Obama for creating a "dangerous time in America."

"I am never ashamed of America, but there are times when I am so disappointed in what our president does or does not do," he said. "In the period of time he's been in office, we have seen such setbacks in American domestic and foreign policy. It's going to take decades to overcome."

"It's a very dangerous time in America for us because he'll take that pen and do everything he can get away with. It's up to Congress to stop him."

The singer also defended an Iraq war veteran who posted photos of himself online wearing a T-shirt with the slogan "F*** Islam" on it and waving the U.S. flag.

"Provocation is not the problem here," he said.

"We're going to provoke these people no matter what unless we all lay down and die or convert to Islam," he said. "There's no other way to make these people happy… I would not disrespect somebody that much, but that's the point I'm making. Be sensible, but if that's what he wants to do, he has a right to do it. Absolutely."

Remember how everyone thought that President Barack Obama’s comparison earlier this year of the terror group known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria to a “JV” basketball team with NBA aspirations was a sure sign of this president’s incompetence?

Turns out we were wrong. It was a sign of his dishonesty.

President Obama’s willingness to lie to the American people has by now been exceedingly well documented. He has lied about the Benghazi terror attacks of September 11, 2012, in order to preserve his election year narrative that he had Islamic terrorism “on the run.” He has lied aboutnot being responsible for the premature withdrawal of American military forces from Iraq beginning in 2009. He has lied about the Bowe Bergdahl trade for five Taliban terrorists, the crisis of illegal immigration, and, of course, that little issue of being able to keep your own doctor and health plan.

Is anyone surprised that President Barack Obama would lie about the Islamic State?

According to a report from Newsmax, that’s exactly what he must have done, because he’d been briefed on the rise of the ISIS threat for months before he was asked about it in that now famous New Yorker interview in January of this year.

The report says that Obama received “a sophisticated daily intelligence briefing about the rise of the Islamic State,” for at least a year before ISIS started making major headlines with its conquests in Iraq. That means he had received well over 100 such briefings, perhaps twice that many, before making the JV comparison in January.

The report cites an anonymous “former Pentagon official” as describing the information provided to the president as both “strong” and “granular.”

In fact, the Pentagon was ready to make military strikes against hundreds of targets, should the president have ordered it. Obviously, that never happened, and the ISIS threat was allowed to grow unchecked.

The question is, why? Why would the president not only ignore the threat, but also lie about it, claiming both that intelligence coming out of the Middle East was of poor quality and that the group had only started to gather strength relatively recently?

Perhaps it was simply to avoid coming to terms with the fact that his withdrawal from Iraq had been a terrible decision. Perhaps he considers radical Islam less of a threat that it has demonstrated itself to be.

Or perhaps he knows that if the American people knew the truth about his beliefs and their impact on foreign policy and America’s security, they would demand his immediate resignation from office.
