Sleeping With Dogs

Yesterday, we pointed out that when you sleep with dogs, you get fleas and that is true.  The pests to which we refer is the Administration. Anyone who pals around with the President, who agrees with what he says one one issue, is going to find himself on the outside looking in on the next!

We have seen the issue of the Catholic Church and the ObamaCare mandates. The Church is being told to go stand in a corner while the Administration does what it feels is the "right" thing to do regardless what the Church wants. The lesson here is though you supported the passage of the bill, the administration does not need you anymore, so go pound sand. The Church is on the outside looking in!

This situation should be an object lesson to all of those who believe that Obama is like every other President. He is not. He has his own agenda, which is not America's. He wants to "change" America into something that none of us would recognize. To suggest any different in naive. The Administration motto must be "anything that made America great, is bad, anything that hurts America is good!"

This brings me to another group that has been a wholehearted supporter of the President and the Democratic Party, that being the Jewish people in the US.  Their support has eroded a bit due to the Administration's handling of the Israel-Palestinian peace talks and the demand that Israel return to 1967 borders "with negotiated modifications."  However, when it comes to the 2012 elections, we expect them to turn out in roughly the same percentages as they did in 2008.  Why?

One reason is, they are Democrats and would never vote in large numbers for a Republican even though their party was not been hospitable to Jews coming to this country during the Roosevelt years. Another is they perceive the Republicans as favoring big business and  inhospitable to the little guy.

However, the main reason is they believe that government is the best way to solve issues. For example, most would not take up arms to defend themselves, rather they would depend upon police. Even though history clearly illustrates that depending on the government is not in the best interests of Jews.

There seems to be a blind spot when it comes  how Jews interact with government. They are unable to see that governments always have been the instigator of actions against them. Whether it was Pharaoh in Egypt,  Queen Isabella in Spain,  pogroms in Russia or the Nazis in Germany, it always has been the national leadership that has caused Jews problems. Even today in Israel, there are those who feel that the country should not have a military or defend itself. So why the blindness?  We sure do not know, but it is there as sure as the sun will come up tomorrow.

So when Jews support the President and he treats Netanyahu with disrespect and demands Israel retreat to indefensible borders, do they revolt? No, they stay in the herd. They may grumble but they do not defect. The Democrats and more importantly, President Obama know this. All he has to do is to say "I am a supporter of Israel" and the Jews  buy it hook line and sinker and completely ignore his actions. This is a recipe for disaster.

In the future, Israel will be have to fend for itself and it will not be the Republicans who set it adrift, it will be Democrats. Whether it is this year or in ten, it will occur and those who supported Democrats both financially and with their vote, will see that Obama and Democrats cannot be counted on.

Just like the Catholic spokesmen who supported ObamaCare, the Jews and Israel will be stabbed in the back by the same people they earlier had supported.  This is a sad state of affairs!

However, it also is a teaching moment. We all need to be aware of the treachery and  verify what they are saying before acting to support them. It is good advice and all groups dealing with the government should heed it.
