Model Candice Swanepoel was not detained for wearing a bikini, but two German tourists in Indonesia were.
Be careful where you vacation these days, because the swimsuit police have their knives out.
Just ask a German couple who were detained by police for wearing bikini bathing suits at a beach in Aceh, Indonesia, a no-no according to Shariah law.
According to Tempo, Andre Brun and Dominika Lzastkova were hauled off the beach for wearing “indecent dress” in public.

The pair were frolicking at Ujong Blang Beach on Tuesday afternoon, and a local resident spotted the skimpy swimsuits and reported them to authorities.
“Having received reports from residents, we rushed to the scene, but the two tourists had already put their clothes back on. Wearing a bikini when bathing in a beach clearly violates Regulation (Qanun) No.11/2002 on Religious Outreach, Prayers and Islamic Belief,” said M. Irsyadi, chief of the Public Order Agency.
He indicated the tourists were taken to police headquarters “to be reminded that it is not allowed to wear panties when bathing in public spaces in Aceh, because Aceh applies Shariah law.”
The couple told police they were simply unaware that Shariah law was in force in the area, but they said they agreed to abide by the dress code.
Irsyadi said after the two were reprimanded, they were allowed to return to their hotel.
