Our Ability To Get Accurate Information Being Impaired By Leftist Media
| Stop the book banners, news controllers |
| Urgent appeal from WND's Joseph Farah |
By Joseph Farah
Rep. Keith Ellison, D.-Minn., is the deputy chairman of the Democratic National Committee, ostensibly the No. 1 person in the party nationally and a candidate for governor of his state. Last week he called on Amazon.com to ban the sale of books by all authors associated with “hate groups” as defined by the extremist left-wing wackos at the Southern Poverty Law Center. While his letter to Jeff Bezos, the founder of the world's largest online retailer, was later scrubbed from Ellison’s own website, it was hardly an idle threat, since Amazon already partners with the SPLC, as do Google, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter, as “expert” consultants for determining which organizations and individuals are guilty of “hate speech.” Also last week, Facebook put on a dog-and-pony show for the entertainment media in Beverly Hills to unveil its new video platform. Top execs were there to answer questions from the press, but the reporters weren’t as interested in the new video platform as they were in why Facebook was not completely banning certain media from the largest social media enterprise in the world. First, they mentioned Alex Jones’ Infowars, which the Facebook execs admitted stifling, if not outright banning. Then, just like that, a reporter demanded to know why Fox News, the No. 1 cable TV news channel in America, was permitted on Facebook. When the execs dodged the question for "lack of time," other reporters demanded: “Answer the question!” and “We’ll give you more time!” It’s worth noting that Infowars videos have already been dropped by YouTube, a wholly owned subsidiary of Google. It’s also worth noting that the No. 1 search engine in the world admits using its algorithms to give preference to news sources like the New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC and Huffington Post at the expense of independent media, thereby throttling the reach of news sources with a more centrist or right-leaning perspective. While so-called “progressives” like to think of themselves as defenders of the First Amendment’s guarantees of free speech, the free press and freedom of religion, it is simply no longer the case. In fact, we are approaching a very dangerous time in America, in which the left-wing book burners and news controllers are in positions of influence – within government and within the boardrooms of tremendous corporate power. They are already controlling the news through what I call the “Internet Cartel” – the five anti-American corporate tech giants Google, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Amazon. As I’ve been telling you since January, these monopolistic, ideological totalitarians are transforming America’s foundational “first freedom” of an open society into an Orwellian nightmare world in which independent media and publishers face overwhelming disadvantages and a grossly un-level playing field in the arena of news and commentary. Something must be done – soon. There have been a few congressional hearings. Most people, if they are really paying attention, know what’s going on. But those who get their news and information from the Internet Cartel’s favored sources are completely in the dark. And that’s the goal – to control news and information by favoring only those companies with the stamp of approval of the SPLC hate-mongers. Don’t think the Fox News alternative will be No. 1 for long if this trend continues. I know something personally about this war on free expression as the founder of the very first independent online news organization in the world 21 years ago. I started WND because the Internet offered a more level playing field. Indeed, WND thrived and grew for nearly all that time. But all that changed after the 2016 election – one strongly impacted by the ever-growing influence of independent media. Since then, the "progressive" media blessed with the Internet Cartel’s preferential algorithms, and advantaged by the blacklisting of independent media competitors by their partners in the SPLC, have been at war with Trump and anyone in the press who didn’t join in that political hate-fest. WND and the rest of the independent media are feeling the heat from the Internet Cartel, which controls traffic, revenue, search power, hosting and distribution of news and information through social media, not to mention retail sales of all books. It’s a scary time of rapidly shrinking traffic and revenues. WND, for instance, has seen drops in revenue from more than $10 million in 2016 to $6 million last year to perhaps as little as $4 million in 2018. This is unsustainable, of course. And that’s what the Internet Cartel knows and is aiming for – the extinction of honest, courageous voices of dissent and debate, which they think of as “hate speech.” There is only one way out for WND – support from users. We can no longer make the money necessary to do serious reporting without the direct support of those who appreciate what we do – and lots of it right now. Please give us a chance to survive, regroup, expose the fascistic thuggery of the left-wing zealots in control of communications and fight another day. It won’t be cheap. We need at least $100,000 to bridge the gap we expect in August. But we will be very grateful for contributions in any amount. Your children and grandchildren will be indebted to you for doing your part to save free expression. Join us as partners by supporting us with your contributions to help offset the war on our revenue streams. Your help is urgently needed. Thank you. |

With Every Passing Day It Becomes Very Clear The Obama Administration Was Up To Its Ears In Willful Dismissal Of Russian Involvement In Elections
Limbaugh Digs Up Obama Dirt, Uses It To Destroy Establishment Media’s Russia Narrative
BY CILLIAN ZEAL
JULY 23, 2018 AT 8:50AM
JULY 23, 2018 AT 8:50AM
Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election is back in the headlines, as it rightly should be, given the recent indictment of 12 Russian nationals who apparently helped orchestrate the email hack of the Democrat National Committee’s computer system.
However, where the responsibility for preventing it lies remains another matter. The media, evidently, thinks we should really be looking toward President Donald Trump because he apparently didn’t condemn the alleged enterprise harshly enough during his news conference last week in Helsinki.
Yet, Trump hasn’t impeded the investigation into the hacks in any way. They’re in the hands of the special counsel’s office, after all, and few would claim that office is a hive of crypto-Trumpism. More to the point, the hacks didn’t occur during his presidency.
And, as Rush Limbaugh pointed out during his Wednesday show, it’s not as if Barack Obama emerged from the whole mess blameless.
Limbaugh began by reading a Yahoo News story from June 20: “Obama cyber chief confirms ‘stand down’ order against Russian cyberattacks in summer 2016 — The Obama White House’s chief cyber official testified Wednesday that proposals he was developing to counter Russia’s attack on the U.S. presidential election were put on a ‘back burner’ after he was ordered to ‘stand down’ his efforts in the summer of 2016.”
Here’s a video of the testimony:
“This is the Obama administration,” Limbaugh said on his program. “They knew the Russians were hacking. They knew Russians were engaging in cyber warfare, and the Obama White House chief cyber official testified that he was told to stand down. So Obama didn’t do anything about the Russians! Obama was telling everybody the Russians could not hack the presidential election. Obama was telling people that it was too massive and widespread and intricate, it couldn’t be done.”
And sharing the blame with Obama, in Limbaugh’s eyes, are the former president’s frequent co-conspirators, the Fourth Estate.
Do you think Barack Obama enabled the Russian hacks?
“The point is: Where was the media?” Limbaugh said. “Where was the media all hopped up about what Putin was doing in 2016, what the Russians were doing? Obama was telling everybody, ‘Stand down. No big deal! Don’t worry about it.’ What did Obama know that we didn’t know? Why did Obama want his own administration to stand down and not do anything? Could we maybe use the word ‘treasonous’? That Obama was willing to stand down and stand aside and let the Russians continue meddling and tampering and whatever?
“All of this that we’re talking about happened before Trump was even president. All of this happened before Trump — in many cases — even became a candidate,” he noted. “Somehow, all of this is Donald Trump’s fault, not standing up to the Russians. Here are two left-wing socialist reporters, David Corn and Michael Isikoff, writing that Obama told his cyber security people to ‘stand down’ in the face of Russian cyberattacks in 2016.
“Now, what can we infer from this? Did Obama think that the Russians were going to try to help Hillary and hurt Trump and so he wanted everybody to stand aside and let that happen?” Limbaugh asked. “Did Obama think that what the Russians were gonna do was somehow gonna benefit the Democrats and so the objective was to stand aside and let it happen? Where was all the outrage back then? Where was all the outrage when Trump was just a candidate and Obama is the president and he’s telling (Russian President) Dmitry Medvedev, ‘You tell Vlad to be patient.'”
“Where’s all this?” Limbaugh asked rhetorically.
“It’s nowhere. It’s nowhere to be seen. We can’t placate the media. Trump cannot dial back anything he’s done. You know what the real irony of all this is? The real irony of all this is how hard and tough Donald Trump has been on Russia since he became president. Donald Trump is not a Vladimir Putin secret agent. He’s not a pushover.”
Is this just the result of traditionally liberal media bias? Not to Limbaugh.
“We’re dealing with sheer hatred here,” Limbaugh said.
“We’re dealing with sheer hatred for Donald Trump for a lot of reasons and on a lot of levels. It’s not just enough to say that Trump is hated because he’s an outsider. That’s clearly an element, but there’s much more to it than that. It’s deep, and it’s visceral. So what matters? Words? Placating the media? Are we trying to soften the coverage here? Do Trump’s actions and his achievements against Russia not count for anything? And that may be the world we live in: Reality trumped by words, images, photos.”
While noting that the word “treasonous” is a bit strong (treason being a crime that carries the death penalty, I’m reluctant to use it in the same way that, say, John Brennan feels is appropriate), Rush is otherwise spot-on here. The reality of Trump’s policies toward Russia — airstrikes in Syria, arming the Ukraine military, etc. — simply don’t compute with the media’s picture of “collusion” or lapdogism.
Meanwhile, for Obama, the fact that his reactions toward Russia during the election cycle were ambivalent at best belies the media’s narrative that he was the bulwark of democracy at a time when it was in grave danger. That this mess exists at all, in fact, can partially be traced to the negligence of the Obama administration and the Democrat National Committee.
Trump inherited the election-meddling problem, along with a panoply of other issues involving Moscow. That very salient fact is hardly ever reported by a media willing to go along when former President Obama insists not a single scandal besmirched his presidency.
The fact Obama can’t think of one isn’t particularly surprising given the fact that he’s an awfully forgiving person when it comes to his own shortcomings. What’s the media’s excuse?

Wasserman Schultz's IT Aide Is In Big Trouble
SOURCE: DEMS' IT SCANDAL TO EXPLODE WITH POSSIBLE PLEA DEAL
FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force looking into the matter
Imran Awan, the former IT aide to congressional Democrats, including former Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, is prepared to strike a plea deal with prosecutors, court filings indicate.
A plea agreement hearing for Awan and his wife, Hina Alvi, has been set for July 3 before U.S. District Judge Tanya S. Chutkan in Washington, according to a filing Tuesday, FoxNews.com reported.
Imran Awan, and his brothers Abid and Jamal, allegedly ran a ghost employee scheme along with their wives that took in nearly $6 million over the years. After wiring approximately $300,000 to his native Pakistan in July 2017, Imran Awan was arrested by the FBI at Dulles International Airport and indicted on four counts of bank fraud after prosecutors said the suspects tried to flee the country. He was carrying $12,000 in cash at the time of his arrest.
The indictments were only for bank fraud – not the IT breach – but sources have made it clear that the bank fraud charges are merely a way to hold the defendants, according to Frank Miniter, who says he has investigated the case for an upcoming book, “Spies in Congress.”
In a column for FoxNews.com, Miniter noted the allegations against the Awans include theft of congressional equipment, massive data breaches of Congress members’ emails and espionage.
Sources, he said, told him the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force has been looking into the matter since well before Awan and his family members were expelled from the House computer network in February 2017.
Investigators were particularly interested in whether or not anyone else in the congressional offices was involved in alleged improper activity, including Wasserman Schultz and former Rep. Xavier Becerra, D-Calif., who employed Awan when Becerra was chairman of the House Democratic Caucus. Becerra is now California attorney general.
Trump has shown interest in the case, tweeting about “the Pakistani mystery man” and asking last year, “Whatever happened to this Pakistani guy who worked with the DNC?”
FoxNews.com said the filing Tuesday did not reveal any details about the terms of the apparent agreement, but prosecutors hinted in court documents last month that a deal could be in the works.
This week, the Daily Caller News Foundation, citing a House employee, reported that when a House Office of Inspector General cybersecurity investigation found that Awan made “unauthorized access” to House servers, including the House Democratic Caucus’ shortly before the election, Wasserman Schultz screamed at House officials, demanding they kill the probe.
The congresswoman became “frantic, not normal,” “making the rounds” to House officials in an attempt to kill the investigation, the House employee said.
Wasserman Schultz, the source said, cornered House Chief Administrative Officer Phil Kiko and called him a “f—– Islamophobe,” saying “you will not so much as take away their parking spots.”
The Florida congresswoman has claimed it was “Islamophobia” that sparked the investigations.
Investigators, however, already have concluded Awan and other family members made “unauthorized access” to House servers while working as highly paid IT administrators for House Democrats until Capitol Police began probing them in early 2017.
Awan apparently was close to Wasserman Schultz, telling people she chose the name for his daughter, Leza, a Jewish name, the Daily Caller reported. The daughter regularly rode a horse that Awan kept at a boarding facility.
WND reported in January that the IT aides sometimes even logged in as congressmen to cover their tracks. Authorities said there is evidence the members’ data may have been aggregated onto one server, which then was physically stolen.
Last month, the Daily Caller News Foundation reported Awan’s father transferred a USB drive to a Pakistani senator and former head of a Pakistani intelligence agency, according to the father’s former business partner.
In April, congressional documents revealed there were no background checks conducted on the Pakistan-born IT aides.
No classified information?
Awan remained on the payroll of Wasserman Schultz – who served as chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee when its IT network was hacked in 2016 – until he was arrested last July.
The Florida congresswoman insists Awan didn’t have access to any classified information.
But, in an interview with WND in October, Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, rebutted the former DNC chair’s claims, arguing that Democratic members of Congress who serve on intelligence committees would, by the nature of their work, correspond about sensitive information.
“The argument is that there was no classified information that was compromised or breached – that’s what they said about Hillary Clinton at first,” he said. “Some of them – like Andre Carson served on the Select Committee on Intelligence – would have access to the highest level of classified information that we have in the United States Congress.”
King said the Democrats essentially surrendered highly classified material to anti-American Pakistani workers who “don’t have allegiance to the United States.”
“The GOP wants to put the government back on its rails again and operating efficiently. Democrats want to pull it down,” he said. “When we hire people to work in our office, I want to make sure I am looking them in the eye. I want to know who’s doing what work and what they’re going to get paid for that. That’s our jobs to do that.
“Instead, they are funneling taxpayer dollars to people who, at a minimum, are not natural-born American citizens. If they’re sending money to Pakistan and absconding to Pakistan, they don’t have allegiance to the United States, either.”
The Awans could be just “a crooked family that found a way to scam the House of Representatives and skim wages out,” he said.
But the worst-case scenario, King argued, is the Pakistani family funneled information or money “into the hands of the Taliban or ISIS.”

No Wonder Pelosi And Schumer Are In Such Bad Moods
February 2, 2018
The Democratic National Committee had a rough 2017, plagued by leadership troubles, internal squabbling, and unflattering reports. To top it off, the party ended the year "dead broke," says The Intercept's Ryan Grim.
The Democratic Party is carrying more than $6 million in debt, according to year-end filings — and has just $6.5 million in the bank. Do the math, and the party is working with just over $400,000 overall. Meanwhile, the Republicans are swimming in pools of money. The Republican National Committee had raised $132 million by the end of 2017 — about twice as much as the DNC — and entered 2018 with almost $40 million to spare, with not a penny of debt.
The DNC's rebuttal, The Washington Post reports, is that they raised more money in 2017 than they have in previous non-election years and were operating at something of a disadvantage given the "rebuilding job" undertaken by first-year chairman Tom Perez. While the DNC claims it is not borrowing money to pay the bills, Grim notes that the party would be operating at a financial loss if not for its borrowing.
If there is any cause for Democratic optimism, it's that individual Democratic candidates seem to be doing well for themselves even as the national party apparatus struggles. NBC News reported Thursday that nearly 50 non-incumbent Democrats running for Congress in the 2018 midterm elections outraised their Republican opponents in the last quarter of 2017. President Trump said on Twitter Saturday morning the controversial memocompiled under Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) on the House Intelligence Committee and published without redaction Friday proves his innocence of election meddling collusion with Russia:
Most other analyses have concluded the memo does not contain much of significance.
The president also boasted of more favorable poll numbers following his State of the Union address Tuesday:
Immediately prior to making that tweet, he retweeted two posts from one of his sons, Eric Trump, linking to media reports about the polling bump. Bonnie Kristian
This memo totally vindicates “Trump” in probe. But the Russian Witch Hunt goes on and on. Their was no Collusion and there was no Obstruction (the word now used because, after one year of looking endlessly and finding NOTHING, collusion is dead). This is an American disgrace!
The president also boasted of more favorable poll numbers following his State of the Union address Tuesday:
Rasmussen just announced that my approval rating jumped to 49%, a far better number than I had in winning the Election, and higher than certain “sacred cows.” Other Trump polls are way up also. So why does the media refuse to write this? Oh well, someday!
