Gun Free Zone Did NOT Stop The UCLA Shooter. Isn't It Time For The Do Gooders To Realize This Policy Is Plain Foolish

UCLA SHOOTING: ANOTHER GUN FREE ZONE

Victim disarmament policy claims more lives

32
At least two people were killed during a shooting on UCLA campus today in yet another victim disarmament gun free zone.
“A UCLA police spokesperson said officers responded to an engineering lab and asked students to go to a secure location after the campus-wide alert system issued a notification,” reports NBC News.
At time of press, the gunman is still on the loose and has not been apprehended.
According to California state law, gun ownership is strictly regulated on the campus of UCLA.
Under Penal Code 626.9 PC, known as California’s Gun-Free School Zone Act, which was enacted in 1995, students are prohibited from carrying a gun within 1,000 feet of school grounds.
UCLA’s own campus policy also, “Prohibits the transportation and possession of firearms and other dangerous weapons on the grounds of UCLA campus, off-campus buildings owned or operated by the University, areas adjacent to University Property or to activities of or programs conducted by the University, whether on or off University Property.”
In October last year, California Gov. Jerry Brown also signed into law SB707, which banned students from carrying concealed weapons on school grounds and college campuses.
Of course, criminals don’t tend to obey laws, so the only impact of such measures is to disarm potential victims.

Guns Do Not Kill People, People Kill People. Obama Only Makes It Worse.

Another Mass Shooting and the Obama Gun Ban Deception Continues

8282987334_b607c660b8_bCertainly the Charleston church shooting leaving nine people dead is a horrific tragedy.
Equally horrific is Obama’s reaction and blantant deception about his ultimate intention to ban guns in the United States.
First, in his initial speech on the Charleston church shooting in Washington, Obama blamed guns.
Then he took his gun blame act on the road.
As Breitbart reports, later the same day, at a Hollywood fundraiser, Obama continued the gun blame rhetoric.
“If you’re dissatisfied that every few months we have a mass shooting in this country, killing innocent people, then I need you to mobilize and organize a constituency that says this is not normal and we are going to change it, and put pressure to elect people who insist on that change,” he said as the crowd applauded.
Earlier in the day, a more frustrated President insisted at the White House that mass shootings didn’t happen in other “advanced countries” and that it was time to make it harder for killers to get a gun.
“I say that recognizing the politics in this town foreclose a lot of those avenues right now,” he said. “But it would be wrong for us not to acknowledge it.”
First of all, mass shootings DO happen in other advanced countries. The United States media simply doesn’t report on them 24/7 for two weeks straight.
Obama needs us to mobilize and organize a constituency that says this is not normal?
What’s NOT normal is paying respects to the grieving families and community of the victims rather than immediately using the incident for political gain. THIS is what we must change. We must insist on better leaders.
Wouldn’t a real leader cancel his plans to play golf and attend a fundraiser in California? Wouldn’t a REAL leader instead show up and support the families and community in Charleston?
Finally, make no mistake, the idea of making it harder for killers to get guns means it will be harder for everyone, including law-abiding citizens, to get guns.
Then only the thugs, the government, and the killers will have all the guns.

University's Gun Free Zone Forces Gun Advocate To Cancel Her Book Signing For Her Own And Customer's Safety.

Just Guess How TheBlaze’s Dana Loesch Responded When She Was Prohibited From Carrying a Gun at Her Texas Book Signing

TheBlaze’s Dana Loesch says she was informed by officials shortly before a Sunday book signing at Texas Christian University that the bookstore is a strict “gun-free zone.” There was no armed security provided and she was reportedly told she could not carry any firearms on the premises.
That was enough for Loesch to cancel the signing for her new book, “Hands Off My Gun,” citing concerns for the safety of everyone involved.

Dana Loesch’s new book, “Hands Off My Gun”
“Regrettably, today’s signing event for Hands Off My Gun at the TCU Bookstore from 2-3:30 central is canceled. I was really looking forward to this but unfortunately am uncomfortable gambling with my own, my family’s, or readers/listeners’s security,” Loesch wrote in a statementon Sunday.
Loesch also revealed that there was an “incident” at a previous book signing in Grapevine, Texas, where a man reportedly “pushed through the line, yelled at store employees and about how he hated me and Glenn Beck, and when he was told to leave, punched the store’s promotional signs on the way out.”
She said she regularly receives threats from anti-Second Amendment advocates and is “just not cool with being sitting duck somewhere or asking any of you to be also.”
Loesch offered her “deepest apology” for canceling the event and promised to reschedule at a different location soon.

No Firearms Allowed In Ikea Store Even If A Police Officer Brings It In.

Uniformed Cop Told He Can’t Carry In Gun-Free Zone

Anti-gun fanaticism reached the height of absurdity on July 4 when a uniformed Tacoma Park, Md., police officer was informed that he couldn’t carry his service weapon as he shopped for furniture in a local IKEA store because of the establishment’s “weapons free environment” policy.
Takoma Park Police Chief Alan Goldberg, a 35-year police veteran, told a local NBC affiliate that he stopped in the store with his daughter between shifts of working the city’s morning Independence Day parade and a fireworks show scheduled for later that evening.
As Goldberg helped his daughter pick out furniture for her new apartment, the uniformed officer was approached by an IKEA loss-prevention employee.
“He says we have a no firearms policy, and you’re either going to have to leave or you can lock your gun in the car,” Goldberg said.
The police chief, who said that he’d never before been confronted about his firearm while in uniform, decided against locking his gun up outside.
“It isn’t the most prudent thing to do to walk around the store in uniform with an empty holster,” Goldberg said. “And I am not going to lock my gun in a commercial parking lot, with people watching me put it in there. That’s just ludicrous.”
Goldberg was unable to get a copy of the store’s official firearms policy at the time of the incident, so he spoke out against IKEA’s policy on Facebook.
That prompted the following response from the retailer’s corporate office:
We regret that there was a misunderstanding of our weapon policy in our College Park Store. Our weapon policy does not apply to law enforcement officers. We are taking steps to ensure that this is clear for all our co-workers.
The ridiculous incident got some interesting comments from readers on NBC Washington’soriginal report.
“Well Chief, that’s a taste of the baloney that law-abiding gun owners have to put up with regularly when we carry,” one commenter said. “Not pleasant getting kicked out of a gun-free zone, is it? Gun-free zones don’t make any sense do they?”
Another posited this imaginary scenario:
“911 what is your emergency?”
“This is the Ikea store we have a man with a gun who has taken hostages in the store.”
“Officers are on the way.”
“Tell them we are a weapon free area they have to leave their guns in their cars before entering the store!”
“Dispatch to all units responding to the man with a gun at the Ikea, Disregard.”
