The Department of Justice says the federal government has no responsibility under the Freedom of Information Act to produce emails sent or received by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on a privately maintained account, Politico reported Friday.

Larry Klayman, a veteran lawyer and founder of the conservative watchdog group Freedomwatch, is asking a federal appellate court to subpoena the computer server used by Clinton to house the private email address she used as secretary of state.

The former secretary of state has turned over 55,000 pages of emails that she deemed to be official government communications while deleting 30,000 emails she said were personal in nature.

Rep. Trey Gowdy, a South Carolina Republican who chairs the House committee investigating the Sept. 11, 2012, Benghazi, Libya, terror attacks, has asked Clinton to turn her email server over to a neutral third party to review it and ensure that any public documents are released.

Klayman filed suit alleging the State Department failed to respond adequately to his original FOIA request seeking documents dealing with Iran sanctions.

A federal district court ruled against Klayman two months ago, but he filed an updated appeal after news of Clinton's use of a private email account and server became known. Klayman argues that by failing to keep her email on public servers, Clinton and the State Department have obstructed justice.

While recently book browsing at a local Barnes &

Noble, I noticed a strange addition to the bookshelf

holding children’s guides to foreign countries.

The Scholastic Children’s Press has a series

called “A True Book,” and one stood out:

“A True Book About North Korea.” I immediately

reacted in horror: how could the children’s

book company delicately explain gulags, slave

labor, or a militaristic society which starves

its people while lavishing luxury goods on its ruler?

Of course, the book explained none of these things. It was as if Kim Jong-un himself had written

a children’s guide to his great kingdom. Scholastic has printed a brochure for North Korea filled with

outright lies, not to mention lies of omission. The back cover even exclaims, “ALL NEW

ALL TRUE!” for irony’s sake. Variations of this “TRUE” exclamation appear several times, even

in the index.

Parroting North Korean Propaganda

It was with horror that I read this description of the Hermit Kingdom on the book’s back cover:

“The capital city has an excellent subway system. It is decorated with wall paintings and

chandeliers.” Before even opening the book it was clear it would be completely unfaithful to

what life is like in North Korea.

There are, in fact, just two subway stations that seem to meet this description. They are the

only two stations foreigners are ever brought to. North Korean officials claim the whole system

looks like this, but it’s impossible to know if any other stations even exist. One foreign visitor

was able to escape his minders and tried to make his way into a station never before visited

by an outsider. He found it closed. Some North Korea watchers believe parts of the system

exist, but none are in use, and that there is just a shuttle that runs between the two show

stations while visitors are present, with actors playing the part of busy commuters. The

elaborate game North Koreans play to

keep the illusion of a working system in place is straight out of ‘The Truman Show.’

I ANOTHER SCORNED U.S. ALLY TURNS TO RUSSIA

Saudi Arabia has quietly reached out to our arch foe Russia in an attempt to temper Iran’s regional influence and reach a compromise on Tehran’s nuclear program, Middle Eastern defense officials told WND (World Net Daily).
The Saudi move already has resulted in the opening of back-door dialogue between the two countries aimed at possibly forging a new alliance, the officials said.
The talks may showcase Saudi desperation in light of the Obama administration’s rapprochement toward Iran, perhaps the House of Saud’s biggest competitor for influence in the Middle East and Persian Gulf.
Already, the shifting U.S. regional alliances have seen Russia’s military relationship with long-time U.S. ally Egypt grow ever closer.
The Obama administration has been cool to the secular, moderate government of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, which ousted the Muslim Brotherhood and its Islamist allies led my Mohamed Morsi in 2013.
Ever since the U.S. abandonment of Sisi’s regime, Egypt has grown increasingly closer to Russia, as evidenced by the $3.5 billion arms deal between Cairo and Moscow signed last year.
Earlier this month, Egyptian Defense Minister Sidqi Sobqi and Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced in Moscow the expansion of Russian military cooperation, which will reportedly include a historic joint naval drill in the Mediterranean Sea.
Additionally, Egyptian soldiers and officers will reportedly train in Russian military academies, reported the Moscow Times.
Now the purported opening of a new dialogue between Moscow and Riyadh seems to continue the trend of former U.S. allies reaching out to the Russian axis.
There is much bad blood between Saudi Arabia and Russia. The Saudis have been backing the insurgency targeting the regime of Syrian President Basher al-Assad, known to closely cooperate with Moscow.
Moscow has long accused the Saudis of supporting Islamists operating in the Caucuses, primarily Chechnya, Dagestan and Ingushetia, as part of an alleged destabilization campaign.
The Russians have also claimed the Saudis, working in conjunction with the West, have been attempting to lower oil prices in a scheme to damage the Russian economy.
The sour relations go back to the Cold War era, when the Saudis sided with the U.S. by supporting the American-aided mujahedeen in Afghanistan against the Russian invasion there.
II Let’s take a quick count of the US allies that Obama has deliberately alienated since he took office.

1. The minute he took office Obama returned to England the treasured bust of Winston Churchill that was given to us by the British in appreciation of the fantastic victory our two countries had accomplished over Nazi Germany in WWII. To Obama, Churchill represented the British colonialism against which his father, through his mother, had indoctrinated him.
2. Obama Threw Eastern Europe Under the Bus. The Heritage Foundation criticized the Obama administration for abandoning its Eastern European allies. Obama gave up proposed missile defense sites in Poland and the Czech Republic. This emboldened Russia and increased our own vulnerability to Iran’s missile capabilities. The abandonment certainly has done just that with Russia gobbling up Crimea and a large chunk of Georgia and the Ukraine with much more to come. The Baltic states now live in fear for their very existence now that the US military umbrella is gone.
3. Obama ruined our relationship with Syria by deliberately vacillating between supporting Bashar Assad or the Syrian people that had rebelled against him. Syria is now, in fact, a non-existent country. How far behind is Lebanon with the Islamic State on its borders and those of Israel?
4. He destroyed the hard won victories and territories US Forces had accomplished in Iraq. The country is in complete disarray with control being contested by ISIS and Iran and the US no longer a consideration.
5. The Gulf Emirates no longer have any faith in our defending them against Iran and its impending nuclear power.
6. Obama will soon abandon Afghanistan leaving it vulnerable to the guaranteed resurgence of the Taliban
7. Alienated the French. U.S. attorney general Eric Holder, in Paris for a terrorism summit, did not join world leaders German Chancellor Angela Merkel, British Prime Minister David Cameron, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the march and rally that drew a million people days after 12 French civilians were shot at the offices of satirical newspaper, Charlie Hebdo.
8. Obama is throwing our staunch ally Israel under the bus, allowing and promoting Iran’s development of nuclear weapons and threatening to stop protecting Israel against the threats and insane rulings of the UN and the World Court.
Unfortunately, this is just the tip of the iceberg. The whole iceberg portrays a US military force deliberately decimated by Obama with his complete plans yet to be fulfilled. Russia, China, Iran, the Islamic State are all well aware of this decimation and are taking full advantage — grabbing territories and killing people all over the world in their thirst to fill the power vacuum Obama cleverly created.

Presidential Candidate Ted Cruz’s Heart Lies with Israel

Texas Senator Ted Cruz made a semi-official announcement on social media Sunday, revealing that he will officially submit his plans to run for the Republican presidential ticket in 2016 on Monday.

Cruz is the first presidential hopeful to officially enter the race. He will make his announcement at Liberty University, a university which emphasizes traditional conservative Christian values and is a significant indicator of the direction of Cruz’s campaign.

In the next several weeks, other Republican contenders are expected to enter the race, including Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio.

Cruz, 44, was elected to the US Senate in 2012. The former Texas solicitor general quickly made a name for himself with his unfailing conservative values and his tenacity to take on both Democrats and Republicans alike.

His appeal to many ultra-conservative members of the Republican Party was highlighted last year when Cruz led the Republican push to shut down the federal government during an unsuccessful attempt to block US President Barack Obama’s health care law.

Cruz, the son of a Cuban-born father and American mother, would be the US’s first ever Hispanic president. His father Rafael Cruz is an outspoken Evangelical pastor. While born in Canada, it remains unclear how the Senator will overcome the constitutional requirement that any president be born in the US.

A true friend of Israel

With all the excitement and controversy (depending who you ask!) surrounding Cruz’s run for the White House, where does the Republican hopeful stand on Israel?

Cruz is a vocal and ardent supporter of the Jewish state. While on a visit to Israel in June 2014, Cruz stated that the threats facing Israel and the US “have never been greater than they are right now.”

A religious Christian, the senator has many times come to the aid of Israel and the Jewish nation in times of great need. In one notable instance, Cruz was publicly shamed by some fellow Christians for his support of Israel.

In September 2014, while speaking at the dinner gala of the In Defense of Christians organization, Cruz caused an unexpected uproar when he told the audience, “Christians have no greater ally than Israel.” Attendees booed the senator off stage and yelled out for him to “stop it.”

Despite the growing unrest and continued calls to leave the stage, Cruz said, “Those who continue to hate Israel hate America. Those who hate Jews hate Christians. If those in this room will not recognize that, then my heart weeps for them.”

Who is to blame for the failure of Israeli-Palestinian peace talks?

The Republican candidate has made clear his position on the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.

Unlike the current Obama administration, who has repeatedly forced Israel to unsuccessfully negotiate with the Palestinian Authority-Hamas government, Cruz puts the failure of peace talks squarely on the shoulders of the Palestinians.

“The principal impediment to peace is that, to date, the Palestinians have refused to recognize Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state and have refused to renounce terror,” he told the Knesset in May 2014.

“Unless and until the Palestinians can agree on those very basic starting block, no lasting peace solution is likely.”

Cruz added that “the US should stand with Israel” and that it was not “America’s role to try to impose a policy about where Israeli settlement are located and where they’re not.”

“America has a role facilitating negotiations, helping bring the parties together and providing a fair and neutral forum where both sides can engage, if they wish, in good-faith negotiations, but any decisions about the terms of a peace deal should be made by Israel and the Palestinians.”

Threat of a nuclear armed Iran

Last month, in a historic and controversial speech, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed US lawmakers on the dangers of a nuclear armed Iran. With many lawmakers, including the president, condemning the speech, Cruz was one of the few who did not shy away from publicly voicing his support for the prime minister and the Jewish state.

“There is one threat on the face of the planet right now that poses a meaningful possibility of once against exterminating 6 million Jews, and that is a nuclear Iran,” he told media on the eve of the speech.

Following the speech, the senator had a clear message for the American people and others around the world: The current situation with Iran is akin to the events leading up to World War II.

“The deal being negotiated today is reminiscent of Munich in 1938,” he told reporters. “And when the administration comes back to America and promises peace in our time, we shouldn’t believe them now any more than we should have believed them then.”

Earlier this month, Cruz slammed negotiators for “fundamentally” lacking any understanding of their Iranian counterparts and their true intentions. The diplomatic deal currently being negotiated by the P5+1 superpowers and the Islamic Republic, according to Cruz, is not just a threat to Israel but the entire world.

Will Israel be a major focus of Cruz’s presidential bid?

With election season in the US quickly approaching, many are wondering how prominently Israel will feature as a key item of the foreign policy portfolios of presidential hopefuls.

While it remains unknown how far support for Israel, or lack thereof, will play in any candidate’s campaign, one thing is clear when it comes to Ted Cruz: The Senator has never minced words on his unequivocal support for the Jewish state and, as far as politics goes, this brings a sense of relief that American’s can truly know where Cruz’s heart lies.

On God’s land of Israel and on his nation.

GOP Pollster McLaughlin: Obama, Allies Heavily Involved in Anti-Netanyahu Vote

President Barack Obama and his allies were far more heavily involved in the effort to defeat Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Tuesday's elections, Republican pollster John McLaughlin says.

Appearing Sunday on "The Cats Roundtable" on AM 970 in New York, McLaughlin cited several examples, including "trying to organize the [Israeli] Arabs into one party and teach them about voter turnout, etc."

McLaughlin told host John Catsimatidis that some of the money included taxpayer dollars. Former Obama campaign operative Jeremy Bird took part in the Victory 15 effort to defeat Netanyahu, and a Senate panel is looking into allegations that U.S. taxpayer dollars were provided by the State Department to One Voice, which then moved the funds to Victory 15.

Further, McLaughlin said, “The State Department people in the end of January, early February, expedited visas for [Israeli] Arab leaders to come to the United States to learn how to vote … There were people in the United States that were organizing them to vote in one party so they would help the left-of-center candidate, [Isaac] Herzog, that the Obama administration favored."

McLaughlin was in Israel working on the effort to re-elect Netanyahu and secure seats for the conservative Likud Party in the Knesset, Israel's parliament.
