Happy Fourth of July from Conservative Tom---
Today as we celebrate the founding of our country, lets remember the many people who have been responsible for keeping us free since 1776. These men and women, countless in number, have helped us preserve and maintain what the Founders gave us. We are not talking only about soldiers, sailors, airman and marines but also Rosie the Riveter, the truck drivers, the farmers, the steel plant workers, police and fire and anyone who contributed to making and keeping us strong.
Our challenge to you today is--can we do the same for those who follow us? Will we give them the same type of opportunity, freedom and pride of nation that those who came before us gave us?
If we can answer in the affirmative, how are you going to do that with the troubles this nation faces? Alternatively, if your answer is negative, what are YOU going to do to turn around the direction of the country so that we can pass along the great inheritance that the United States is?
Each of us is responsible to do our part in keeping this great tradition that is the United States. Don't let those who suffered and died for this country to have done so in vain. They and all who follow us are counting on YOU.

P.S. Let us know what you are going to do. For our part, we are going to read the Declaration of Independence today at our dinner. As we read it yesterday, it sent chills down my spine. It is as appropriate today in this country as it was in 1776 in the colonies. It is our "marching orders." Thomas Jefferson wrote a timeless document that never ages.
