Not Surprising, LULAC Condemns Trump. Is This Piling On?

LULAC Condemns Anti-Immigrant Bigot Donald Trump for Insulting POWs

July 18, 2015
Washington, D.C. – The League of United Latin Americans Citizens condemned Donald Trump again today, this time for insulting veterans and prisoners of war, after his slanderous attack against John McCain. The draft-dodging Trump, who received 5 deferments to avoid serving in Vietnam, stated that John McCain is “not a war hero” because “he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.”

“Today Donald Trump insulted Senator John McCain for being a prisoner of war,” stated LULAC National President Roger C. Rocha, Jr.” “This is unacceptable! Not only did he insult Senator John McCain but every veteran that has served or is serving to protect our country.”

LULAC has previously condemned Trump’s remarks in reference to immigrants and Mexicans. The organization has called upon all of Trump’s business partners to sever their ties with the race-baiting Presidential aspirant. The latest outrage makes it absolutely clear that this egotistical bigot is completely unqualified to run for any office let alone be given the opportunity to spread his hateful views through our nation’s media outlets.

“This comes at a time when this country is mourning the four U.S marines and one sailor who were killed during a terrorist attack in Tennessee,” President Rocha further elaborated. “LULAC stands with all of our veterans because if it were not for them and the sacrifices they have made we would not be here enjoying the many freedoms this country provides. God Bless our veterans and God Bless the United States of America!”

The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) is the nation’s largest and oldest civil rights volunteer-based organization that empowers Hispanic Americans and builds strong Latino communities. Headquartered in Washington, DC, with 1,000 councils around the United States and Puerto Rico, LULAC’s programs, services and advocacy address the most important issues for Latinos, meeting critical needs of today and the future.
