Got To Stop Those Rebellious Christmas Carolers!

Little Girls Kicked Off Grocery Store Property for Doing WHAT?!

There’s a non-union grocery store chain in our area that has the lowest prices in town. They go by the name of Winco, and this employee-owned grocer is very popular among my friends and neighbors.
This grocery store recently did something that was totally uncalled for, and it is causing some people I know to boycott them for a while.
The Winco store in Vancouver, WA, recently kicked two little girls off their property for singing Christmas carols. These little cuties weren’t even singing for money; they simply wanted to spread some holiday cheer. No one filed a complaint with store managers about these little elves; in fact, some people stood outside and listened.
But after singing their little hearts out for less than an hour, a store employee came along and told them to leave. Kaitlyn Manseau, one of the little girls told KATU that “the store employee said our policy is like we don’t allow carolers or something like that.”
“I was like bummed,” Ayla Bascom told the station. “We were both depressed that we couldn’t spread any more love and joy and cheer.”

No kidding!!
This is so hypocritical because we used to see people protesting Winco. They would stand outside and picket, day after day. All around the store. This once particular Winco we shopped at was surrounded on three sides by three different streets. And there would be protestors on all three sides, standing in groups on the sidewalk. And Winco allowed it, day after day. The protesting was in regards to the fact that Winco is non-union, and the picketers felt this was a disgrace to the Unions.
What’s even more disgraceful is that little kids who try to spread some holiday cheer are getting picked on for no reason. Why does this keep happening? Is it because the grown ups want to throw their weight around? These little elves weren’t hurting or bothering anyone. And I truly hope this Winco store will reconsider their policy for one afternoon of Christmas carols.
For heaven’s sake Winco! Whether it’s girl scout cookies, protestors, or Christmas carols, let someone say (or sing) their piece if they aren’t hurting business. You’ll be glad you did.
