BOOM: Trey Gowdy Just Made a HUGE Announcement About Donald Trump
Billionaire real estate mogul and presidential candidate Donald Trump has recently caught quite a bit of flak over his comments regarding the correlation between illegal immigrants and criminal activity.
But there have been few politicians with the guts to buck the political correctness police and step up to defend the truth behind Trump’s comments — which, we will freely admit, could have been more articulately phrased.
One of those politicians is South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy, who was appearing at an event in his home state with Sen. Tim Scott and presidential candidate Mike Huckabee.
Gowdy spoke to reporters at the event who asked his take on Trump’s comments and stance on illegal immigration. In replay, Gowdy defended Trump’s comments and said his position shouldn’t be limited to one candidate in the race.
Gowdy said, “I don’t know if you saw what happened to San Francisco over the weekend, but someone who has been evicted from the country multiple times came back in and killed a totally innocent person who was simply walking.”
“(S)o anyone who thinks that the border is not porous, anyone who thinks the internal security is adequate, anyone frankly who wants to advocate for sanctuary cities — I get that that has a benign sounding name to it — but the sanctuary … should be for (the) law abiding, not the folks who aren’t following the law,” Gowdy added, according to Breitbart.
Huckabee largely echoed those comments as well, promising to secure the border if elected.
Of course, not everyone coming across the border illegally is a cold-blooded and calculating killer, and few have even come close to suggesting as much.
That said, there is little doubt that robbers, rapists, murderers and worse are making their way into the country alongside the good people simply looking for a job and a better life, fleeing the corruption of their home countries.
Until we can get a handle on our southern border, putting a halt to the back and forth flow of criminals, nothing need — or even can — be done about the (mostly) law-abiding illegal immigrants already here.
