Sanctuary’ from What?

Murder in San Francisco immediately makes Trump's point about illegal immigration; silence from the Left.

When announcing his plans on June 16 to seek the Republican nomination for president, Trump described immigrants from Mexico to the United States as drug-runners and rapists. His comments prompted a widespread outpouring of criticism. Comcast Corp’s NBC network cut ties with Trump and the “Miss USA” and “Miss Universe” pageants, and Spanish-language network Univision pulled the July 12 “Miss USA” pageant.Department store chain Macy’s Inc said it would phase out Trump’s menswear collection and New York City said it was reviewing its contracts with the developer. ”Macy’s is a company that stands for diversity and inclusion. We have no tolerance for discrimination in any form,” Macy’s said. Trump fired back, saying it was his decision to end ties with Macy’s. He also filed a $500 million lawsuit against Univision for dropping the event.
Donald Trump has renewed his calls for tougher immigration controls in the wake of an illegal Mexican migrant allegedly murdering a woman in San Francisco. The presidential hopeful branded U.S. border controls an ‘absolute disgrace’ in light of the revelation that Francisco Sanchez, 45, had already been deported five times – and was recently released from jail by officials who routinely refuse requests to hand over illegal immigrants. Sanchez is accused of gunning down Kathryn Steinle, 32, as she walked along Pier 14 with her father on Thursday evening. According to the victim’s family, the attack was entirely at random. It came as immigration officials revealed that Sanchez should have been sent to them when he was arrested four months ago, but was let go in accordance with San Francisco’s ‘sanctuary city’ policy. Immigration and Customs Enforcement had marked him as an ‘enforcement priority’ who should have been handed over immediately. But San Francisco officials admitted that due to a soft policy on undocumented immigrants, they do not always comply with the requests – which in Sanchez’s case left him out on the streets on the night of the murder.
So let me get this straight: states, such as Arizona, can’t protect themselves from illegal aliens because it’s a federal matter — but Democrat-run “sanctuary cities” are perfectly free to thumb their noses at (wink, wink) Washington. And now it has cost a young, real American woman her life.
By the way, “sanctuary” from what? A government that refuses to take the nation’s borders seriously and refuses to protect American citizens is evil.
