TRUMP TO PROTESTERS: I WON
The protests in California were especially violent
President Donald Trump reminded left wing activists nationwide that he won the election in a series of tweets Sunday morning.
The Democratic Party organized a national protest that called for President Donald Trump to release his tax returns. Thousands of protesters hit the streets in front of the nation’s Capitol Saturday, and Democrats held several other protests around the nation in a show of solidarity.
The protests in California were especially violent, as pro-Trump protesters mixed with the Democrat-led Anti-Trump protesters. More than 12 were arrested in Berkeley, California, according to USA Today.
“How can we determine his conflicts of interests or stop him from receiving payments from foreign governments if he won’t show us the names of the people and corporations that he is in active partnership with all over the world?” Democratic Rep. Jamie Raskin said on the steps of the Capitol Saturday afternoon.
Trump repeatedly asserted that protesters were paid by outside groups since he won the race in November. After asserting the protesters were paid, Trump went on to remind the protesters that he defeated former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election.
